Blind Rating Every Sonic LCD Game From McDonald's

I've been going down the rabbit hole of obscure Sonic games, which led me to the LCD games McDonald's released in the 2000s. I never knew these existed before, so I decided to play them all for the first time and rate them!
This is a new type of video for me on the channel, so I hope you like it! It's also my longest video yet because of the amount of games reviewed LOL, so let me know if you enjoyed having a lengthier video to watch!

I still have my old Spyro and Crash bandicoot ones from like 3rd grade! I remember mom promising me to go to mcdonalds one day and I WAS EXCITED FOR A WEEK BEFOREHAND. Man, I really did not need much back then huh.

glad to see Shadow Hockey getting the praise it deserves. i was one of the lucky kids that had the silver variant, and that game is one of my prized possessions. keep an eye out on this simulator in the future as i had shared some photos of the silver Shadow Hockey to the dev, so that way everyone can enjoy it once it's implemented into the simulator!

Awesome video! I remember loving little LCD games, I specifically remember getting some from cereal boxes at one point! The fact that someone made a whole simulator for them is really cool, internet archives truly have no bounds! Also very based having a Big the Cat bias.

The capture here looks so clean! As someone who used to own the speedway game, the smearing these cheap handhelds did provided a better sense of things actually moving, which I felt helped a bit with the illusion of things kinda moving. Despite this gameplay was always kinda uhh... not great as I'm sure you're aware, but it might have been a bit easier than here!

I have a lot of nostalgia for these games. When I was a little kid, this happy meal was the first time my parents let me try ordering on my own, paying with my own allowance. I carried that Shadow game in my backpack all through middle school. Thanks for the nostalgia trip

WOAH I didn't know other people played these as kids. I remember having the halfpipe game and the cream the rabbit game! I would play these in the back of the car on long car rides or when I was waiting for my siblings' dance classes to end lol great vid!

I remember getting two of these LCD games when I was a kid; Specifically the “Super Monkey Ball Banana Catch” one and the “Sonic Speedway” one. The former was…alright. I’ve never cared that much about the Super Monkey Ball series, so it didn’t really warm me over. The latter game, though…that was my jam. I’ve always been a fan of arcade racers, even ones on limited/inferior hardware, so I latched onto Sonic Speedway like paper to fresh glue. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, YewfNet. This was fun. :3 (Side Note: I’m glad to see someone was crazy enough to preserve these old LCD games. They, like many LCD games, were a formative part of many a gamer’s childhoods. And they deserve a chance to be saved and replayed by everyone, even if the quality of their gameplay doesn’t really hold up when compared to other games on other systems.)

Good memories with those toys, i had the Sonic Action one as well Shadow rails. Those where literally my first interaction with a Sonic game and franchise at all (it wasn't until 4 years later that my dad showed me his Game Gear with Sonic Triple Trouble and then gifted me Sonic Heroes for birthday). I remember these when it came out in the Philippines at around 2003-2004. I manage to get some, including the Shadow basketball one, the Tails one(2003), the Super Monkey Ball one and especially the Knuckles one(2003). Thanks for making me remember these, Yewf.

I remember when in the early 2000s McDonalds released these LCD consoles (as well as other LCD consoles about Spyro and Crash) and definitely these LCD consoles were some of my favorite promotional toys I had. From Sonic's consoles I remember I had Sonic Action Game, which I think it was the first promotional console and it was a super boring game with only one a button to jump😅. The tennis game, however, was one of my favorite games from these LCD games☺. Now with perspective I'd say McDonalds made its own "Game&Watch collection" with all those LCD games released on the early 2000s🤣. Also, thanks for the link! This is something I actually wanted to do before I stopped caring about making vids. Actually own all the games irl too (minus the super rare silver edition Shadow one). Nice to see someone finally hop on this lol. Edit: Cream's Flower Catch is rated that low?? It's one of the best ones imo (prefer the Monkey Ball version tho) 😭

When I was a kid I had a Game Boy, so I was preset not to like LCD games. Why would I want to play those simple one note games when I had a system more involved? It wasn’t until I got into gaming collecting did my tune change 😅 sure these are simple, but LCD games were cheap to make and they have a charm you can’t duplicate! Use to have a few different games until I lost them in a move 😞 and Of course these formally cheap toys have to be expensive to find these days, but I’m glad someone made those emulators. Probably made recording these a lot easier. I personally would love a Tiger handheld Mega Man 2, but finding one at a price I can afford isn’t easy 😅 Anyways, done with my rant. Love your channel! Was hoping the Billy Hatcher one would be mentioned. Still have the one I got when I was younger near the bed. Its neat that it managed to get something like as marketing/merch. Shame it wasn't played/ranked (even if its to be expected), though it is basically like Sonic Skating/Skateboard. Also, it seems that the arrows are pointing at the direction the platforms are going in Knuckles Treasure Hunt, though I don't have the physical version and haven't played the emulator, so I can't exactly say :v
