New to Rav Vast playing and I found this tutorial really helpful with instructions that are essential from the start. Thankyou!

I am really looking forward to this video...I have had my rav for over a year now and still do not have a good hand technique. I use the mallets, but there’s a reason it’s called a hand drum!

Thanks for letting me know how to contact you ... right now, life is super busy and I’ve had to put the drum on the back burner.(but it’s still out on the ‘stove’ ☺️) hopefully, sometime later next month or in the summer I’ll be able to give it the focus it really needs. Yep, all a matter of priorities, currently I’m in a major care taker role for a loved one with dementia and we’re transitioning to a new stage. All is good and his happiness is front and center🙏

Thanks so much, this really helps - I think the pull back strike technique is the best tip for me. I also need to develop a harder, stronger sound...my hands are very small and my sound remains light, but not muffled. I’m using the finger tip, but the volume is still pretty weak. Perhaps over time I will be able to hit harder/stronger. Thanks for the central tongue versus wing tip for sound, too. BTW . there’s no DM instructions - are you saying to msg through Facebook?

Just curious, what are your thoughts about playing RAV with the side of your thumb? How does that compare to finger pad vs. tip, etc.? First I've heard the wing strike recommended over the "meaty bit." I'll have to try that. Thanks!

Hi mate im trying to buy a ravvast from europe,im in england and cant finish the payment section
@RAVVastSteelTongueDrum4 жыл бұрын
Hey. Now all shipments to the UK will be carried out only from Russia, so there is no possibility to pay for the instrument on the eu website

Would you recommend finger picks? I notice I get pain in my thumbs after a while, maybe I’m using the wrong technique though.

Of course there could be an issue with technique, but also it maybe something that changes with practice Try to use more of your palm 💙
