You forgot to talk about carrier bearings on the 2 piece drive shaft and the v6 problem of the oil cooler under the lower intake
@316Autos Жыл бұрын
I must be getting rusty, I hadn't even heard of those problems, but you are correct. I can't believe they even used a 2 piece driveshaft, I've only ever seen them on trucks.
@nickpolselli2032 Жыл бұрын
@@316Autos what happens over time is the rubber in the carrier breaks. If driven normal. Average is 80-90k. You beat in the car. Allot less. My one 15 went at 64. My other went at 82k. The worse part. The carrier bearing IS NOT serviceable!!!! You MUST replace the whole drive shaft when this goes.
@316Autos Жыл бұрын
@@nickpolselli2032 I was reading on the pre 15's, you can get another carrier, and I've seen some aftermarket solutions, but yeah, it seems like a giant pain to deal with. Something that an independent rear end car should never have.
@nickpolselli2032 Жыл бұрын
@@316Autos the drive shaft through dodge is about 1200 plus labor. You can do aftermarket one piece. But you have to also do lock out bushings in the rear so you doht twist it. But the time your sone with that parts and labor. Your at about 3 grand. Remember. These cars are built in a c class Mercedes platform. Hell the steering rack is 2 grand plus labor for oem.

You hit the nail on the head!! I have a 17 charger scat pack. You forgot to mention the screen starts delaminating in the corner and that needs to be replaced. Not to mention wanting to put my fist through the screen. Also to mention the paint on the hoods. Corrosion issues due to improper sealing from factory. I’ve had to have mine redone that was covered under warrantee. Doing it again. Maybe I’ll get a carbon fiber hood. All for a car that sits in her garage like a princess and only has 15k. This was my first brand new car and I absolutely love it!!! The body is awesome and a head turner. I also purchased the z automotive tazer which gives you the Daytona settings srt screen and works with active exhaust ect. Car is nice for the front engine 4 door rear wheel drive guy/gal. It is an aircraft carrier but it will get out of its own way. Great video!!!!

Is there a way to just completely replace or delete the uconnect system?
@316Autos11 ай бұрын
Basically every system is tied into it, it's there to stay. You could remote mount your own radio to at least get music, but no, a full delete is next to impossible.

Yeah, I mean it's right there on par with the old LT1 and 4.6L DOHC engines of the 90's. Out of a dinky 6, it's not that bad. My sister had one in her Durango and it knocked down mid 20's on mpg and never felt lacking on power.

Depends on the price, but absolutely. They're amazing cars. The RT is a bit slower, especially with the 5 speed auto, but still worth it.

SRT jailbreak edition boasts 807 horsepower. Man that's a ridiculous amount of power. 🐎 I've seen drag cars with chutes and wheelie bars that had less power than that.

I have admired this car for years and finally got serious about buying one but I live in Washington state and could not find the car I wanted here ,had to have the manual and a few other goodies . but I found one in Florida ,flew down and drove it home ,coast to coast ,when I got home I felt like turning around and doing it again ,,that should say it all,,I wish I could have found that off yellow but went with frostbite and black hood ,TA However after a couple tanks of gas I noticed an engine tic tic tic ,,it has gotten a little worse ,,fuck I hope I didn't get a lemon and hoping its common for other 5.7 owners
@316Autos7 ай бұрын
Dang, that's a heck of a trip, but you have the right car for it. Frostbite with a black hood is a sinister combo. The hemi tick is extremely common, if you're worried, have Dodge look at it, but there's a decent chance it's harmless.

I thought wanted even the v6 challenger but still expensive snd those never had a manual transmission. so went with a cheap 2007 mustang v6 5sp 150k miles i bought for $3,000 in 2023. I just want fun weekend driver not a drag car. And so far the mustang been great Tons aftermarket parts that are beyond cheap to clap out to my preferences. And a smaller car with a manual transmission so more fun than a boat dodge challenger. And the 2007 old mustang isnt sought after like the challenger so theives aren't targeting it . Though i fully admit the challenger cars are way better looking than any mustang

I didn't know the UConnect was a POS.....other reviewers haven't really mentioned it being crappy. I haven't had many problems yet in my '23 Scat, but only had it 6 months. My backup screen is what I'm upset with.....so dim and dark. I have a '19 Ram and that screen is just fine. Youd think a 4 year newer vehicle with a screen made by (probably) the same company wouldnt be so much worse. Other than that, love the car. Just wish the hood rats didn't love it too, already had one attempt to boost it.
@316Autos3 ай бұрын
Yeah, they got sued back in 2019, and there's another class action that's being investigated right now. It's hit and miss on problems, my sister's Durango had similar problems to my Challenger, but my dad's 19 Ram had way fewer bugs. Yeah, being one of the most stolen cars in America is a real pain.
