People dislike talking about the ethical implications since it involves too much cruelty for them. Though I think that it is bad to bury one's own head in the sand like that, annoying people with my ethical views (which happen to align with theirs otherwise they would not need to bury their heads in the sand) will annoy them. However people often ask me how I got so slim and healthy as I am since I used to fat and sick. They want to talk about the health implications of veganism and actively ask for it. So talking about the healthy side of veganism is much easier and probably more effective than talking about the ethical side. People just need to eat healthy and since humans are frugivorous the good ethics will be a result of that. Besides that I actually care a lot about other people's health.

The ADOPTER is merely picking up the pieces and attempting to assuage the situation to the best of their ability by giving them a home, unless you think shoving them back up the mother dogs womb is a better idea or perhaps you own a time chamber where you can go back to prevent the dogs birth? The meat, fish, dairy and egg industries know they are in big trouble, have very deep pockets and no ethical constraints, so buying off some air-headed narcissists to peddle their poison is an excellent investment on their part. What boggles my mind is why anyone would pay the slightest attention to people like her and the others, who are obviously at least amazingly ignorant if not downright stupid, and often more than a little crazy to boot.

I really think that overgeneralization of good advice is a real problem in veganism nowadays. If you avoid refined sugars (and refined flour), you will feel awesome. If you avoid everything with carbs in it, you will cause severe problems. If you avoid oils and fried stuff, you will be healthier. If you avoid everything with fat in it, you will run into problems. If you include some raw foods into your diet that will help a lot. If you eat only raw stuff, you will have a hard time getting all you need (although it might be possible). It is actually not that hard to have a very healthy vegan diet. Unless you try too hard and want to optimize everything to an unnecessary degree of perfection. Then it becomes really complicated, and you are going to make severe mistakes. Especially if you have no clue about science and nutrition.

She promotes restriction, fasting, and awful things that of course girls are going to try because they want the same body as her. People have put fancy names on it and like to call it cleansing and healing but I mean if you would've asked anyone 10 years ago, they would've said it was an eating disorder. She also promotes so much other garbage to make money on like the Institute for Integrative nutrition, mushroom tea, kangen water, whatever. On Instagram she tells her "unconditional" followers (her words) that they need to stay positive and block out the hate and to ignore youtube comments. When you go to her comments all of the nice ones, especially the ones saying "why all the hate? she is just listening to her body" are coming from 15 year old girls. It's so easy to fall for her flashy wording, but if you look at it she really isn't saying anything at all but for impressionable people it's easy to fall for. She knows exactly what she's doing. This is just her job and a way of making money. She doesn't care about her followers or what she's doing or promoting as long as it fits some "natural" label, and if she gets critical comments she just gaslights her viewers and makes it seem like she could never ever be in the wrong

I couldn't agree more! I've tried to watch some of her videos a while back just out of curiosity and it was really worrysome. As someone with a legit and serious chronic pain problem and disability (as well as a disabled Dad who survived a pretty rare cancer that had a terrible prognosis) it really hurts me to see people over dramatizing minor health problems and acting like it's destroyed their lives while those of us who have actually had our lives destroyed are the ones struggling to get proper care and pain relief. People making minor (or non-existent) issues sound so serious is a big part of why medical professionals think women exaggerate their pain which causes many women in pain to go untreated, under-treated and to wait longer for a diagnosis. While she urks me and even angers me a bit, I do worry for her and I think she has exactly the kind of problem you describe. She seems like she really needs to be evaluated by a mental health professional. Unfortunately, I've noticed she listens to a lot of quacks for medical advice, when what she needs is a regular, classically trained doctor and mental health specialist, not some wacko praying on her for money. Thanks for pointing out exactly what I was thinking but couldn't figure out how to properly explain.

I agree partially. Though most mental disorders start in the gut, even those from birth. Noticeable, physiologically genetic mutations (natural mental conditions) are fairly rare. Raw allignment was so obviously suffering from depression. Nobody wants to be vegan (hear me out). It can be isolating and confusing and scary when you've been eating meat your whole life, but it's a selfless thing. It's worth it. We do it because it literally saves the planet. It would be so much easier if animals weren't sentient and our meat didn't have feelings, but that's not how it is. Low sex drive, brain fog, and her other symptoms were all synonymous with depression. Depression can mess with your immune system and your mind will feel off. But her finding this "out" from veganism because of her health probably gave her some kind of new exciting feeling. Of course you aren't going to stay with a diet if it's making you sick. That's why she felt better overnight after eating the fish. It was new and exciting to not "have" to be vegan anymore and she probably felt some new freedom. It's like having depression but it being Christmas and you're getting presents, you can feel better in that moment. I can guarantee it's not going to last. If she was truly deficient it would've taken her weeks to feel better. She probably never wanted to be vegan but she even said that at her time in her life she was not doing well and it seemed like some magical cure

Hey Mic, I know you went into DHA a bit in this video but with all the ex-vegans could you make a video on omega-3s if you haven't already? I really loved your Science of Cheese Addiction video and all the sources you cited. But yeah we need ALA, DHA and EPA but most people don't know that ALA can be converted in DHA and EPA by the human body (small ratios). However, DHA and EPA are found in higher quantities in edible algaes (tablets/supplements) and seaweed. These plants are basically what fish eat and why fish have higher levels! Also we need slightly higher ratios or equal parts of Omega-3s (avocado, nuts/seeds, edible algae and seaweed) compared to Omega-6s (cold pressed olive oil, rapeseed, coconut oil) and I think new vegans starting out may miss that mark. Ending up sluggish and not feeling as good. B12, Omega-3s (DHA and EPA) and getting enough protein seems to be the worse spread info about the vegan community not getting enough nutrients and it is very frustrating to see constant misinformation (or information hidden like DHA and EPA also being in edible algae/seaweed). www.precisionnutrition.com/all-about-algae

I just hate her misinformation and "Diary" she should've seen a doctor for all this instead of doing what sounds self diagnosed and self cured. Same with rawvana how she all of a sudden felt better and I wonder if she was really cured from SIBO? She never went back to a doctor for confirmation. There are many people watching this that look up to these girls so it really is important to get your facts straight. It's like they're almost playing with others health.

Not doctors, they should've seen registered dietitians. They are the true nutrition professionals. So many doctors lack adequate nutrition knowledge to begin with

You don’t think fact that she did water fasting, juice fasting and ate nothing but avocado, lettuce and crackers for a year might be why she became unwell?
