Patrick and Mary travel to Chicago where they lived most of their lives. Patrick is overcome with joy when his grand-daughter hugs him for the very first time. Watch him fight back emotions while visiting a few of his most successful restaurants that are no longer his. Learn about his parents, see a few of the homes he once owned, experience true Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, relive some great Chicago movies and check out an Amazon Fresh grocery store.

It was really nice hearing the stories about your Mom & Dad. They sounded like great parents. Your grandmother living to 108 back in her generation is an absolute miracle, most didn't make it past 50.

Hello Patrick. Thanks for sharing these videos about your life. I live in the UK and seeing how beautiful and clean Chicago looks, it's so much different to here. Most of our roads and streets are littered with rubbish. People just dumping their unwanted items out on the street for others to clean up! You seem a really nice guy.....God bless you and your family.

Sober since ‘05; I “lost” my dream house of 25 Yrs on Lake Travis (Austin) in my 10th yr of sobriety. Awesome content! Funny how it's "leaf blower central" there - you gave me a laugh! The north shore area of Chicago is one of the most interesting parts of the state. Patrick, I just found your videos and have connected on so many levels with them. You’ve accomplished so many things I used to dream about doing myself but didn’t have the capital. The first video I saw was the one that was titled multimillionaire loses everything. That caught my eye. For you to be so at ease after going what you described let me know that I could’ve had the same experience only I don’t know if I could have handled it as well as you do. So thank you, watching your videos I feel that it helps me appreciate the fact that I have so much especially my health, a place to live, no debt and a healthy body at the age of 70. Thank you so much.

Wow Patrick I just came across your channel and I’m totally hooked. My name is Susan I’m from Ireland 🇮🇪 my grandmother got married twice her second husband was O Neill too, maybe we are related 🙈😂 I find your story amazing. Alcoholism is one of many addictions unfortunately and in my family there are addictions too. I always find it difficult to comprehend why everyone is so quick to question people’s story of life. My thought process on that is if they haven’t lived it or experienced it, then it can’t be true. My mother died of COPD a lung disease too, it was in her family. There are a lot of things I can relate to in your story. Funny how people’s life can be so alike yet they don’t know each other. I’m now going to follow your channel because I like your no BS attitude. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 have you visited Ireland? Have you looked up your family tree. My tree is a forest 😂😂😂😂 there are a lot of branches we found out about as we travel through life, but sure that’s what makes things interesting. Sending love from the Emerald Isle 🇮🇪

I live in MN and the best Chicago style pizza ever was My Pie Pizza, even better than Giordano’s. They closed and left town in the 90’s because management was embezzling. I’ll never forget My Pie
@PatONeil-r6q
@PatONeil-r6q Ай бұрын
So funny you said My Pie. I bought my first restaurant in this video (Wilmette) and started my career. The owners of My Pie are some of my closest of friends (the Aronson family). I consider Mr. Aronson one of my mentors. He taught me a quick lesson in the restaurant business that I will never forget. He said you can buy a toilet for 150.00 and after 20 years that toilet will cost you 700.00 in repairs…. Or you can buy the commercial toilet for 300.00 and never spend a dime for 20 years. He was right. Quality is everything and your customers are smarter than you think. Great lessons. And yes, their pizza is the best and they do have one location left in Chicago. Thanks for watching my videos. You struck a cord with My Pie (it’s spelled differently but this works for most who aren’t from Chicago)
