It has taken me forever to make this and out of season at that, but I'm doing strict no salt and no overt fats for a week, so I figured, along with banana whips, this would be a perfect treat! The crust is amazing once it starts to dry - break off a piece.....you might not be able to stop nibbling. I topped mine with my best yet pizza sauce (sundried & fresh tomatoes, one clove garlic, 3 celery sticks, 6 dates, 1 tsp. (dried) marjoram, 3 T. fresh basil, 1 T. fresh oregano - makes enough for 8 pizzas but I didn't measure the tomatoes, about 1 to 1 1/2 c. dried and 2 c. fresh), spinach, and dried jalapenos and tomatoes with rosemary. I also made a batch with shredded cauliflower on top. Admittedly, I left out the pumpkin seeds and used 1/2 T. ground flax per pizza (figured I needed a little flax to hold it together). It's been 25 hours and I have eaten two slices because I couldn't help myself :) but I think they still can use 3-6 more hours of drying time. This is normal, with different elevations and water content. I also, within the first hour of drying, was able to turn the dehydrator sheets sideways and remove about 1/4 c. water per pizza into the sink. So these pizzas are excellent and I love love feeling great after eating pizza. :DDDD Thanks, Chris!!!!

When we realize animal agriculture is the biggest contributor to global destruction and pollution, that its the biggest contributor to disease and low levels of health, that is the biggest most wide cause of suffering to living beings, we are given a option. It can be made without, even so a semi ripe one adds a lot to the flavour. I often find it just comes to picking them, slightly soft and fragrant, store them upside down until ready for best ripening. 🙌🏼

I am sure I will. I am just starting to venture into raw foods. I do not have a dehydrator yet but am saving recipes for when I have all the necessary tools I need. I am so excited and also am very inspired to see others losing a large amount of weight and getting healthy....truly life saving and quality of life improving. Thanks for responding. Hey Chris. Is there really no timer in the dryer you recommend? Does not that restrict you from being at home while the vegetables are drying up?

+Liran Hayman indeed, I prefer the ones without a timer, some like the timer. I generally time my dishes around being ready at dinner so it's not necessary for me and costs extra, plus for recipes you want to dry longer than the timer goes you then need be home to turn it back on. Also if one really wants a timer they can get a plug adapter that has a timer which costs less I belive.

I found the texture of the crust to be kind of stringy. Did I over dry it or under dry it? Or is that supposed to be the texture? Thanks.

It depends if it was stringy and soggy or stringy and hard. If hard it sounds like it may have been too thin and over dried. If soggy then thick and not try enough. Ideally it is in between and holds together well. This all said the 8 crusts I developed in my pizza book are even better. Hope that helps

Is there anything you can do if you seriously, absolutely do not have room where you live for a dehydrator? I live in a tiny condo. Think, might as well be a dorm room because there's no counter space. Can you dehydrate in an oven? Thanks

That can be tough, what about if you put it on your oven? Beside that, if the oven is gas powered and has a pilot light then it can work as a dehydrator with the door just slightly propped open, but the temp and airflow isn’t very consistent so it’s unlikely a complex recipe like this would work unfortunately

Absolutely, the trick is using quality greens and tomatoes and eating enough of them, also, dehydrating concentrates the flavours so the pizzas and some other dishes are extra savoury and stronger flavours. 🙌🏼
