Many years a go my son of Western European descent and his friend of African descent went to the park to play. Unknown to anyone a man and member of some racist organization had been released from prison. He and a group of white teens followed him spotted the two of them, attacked my son and began stomping him. My son’s friend went house to house trying to get help. Not one person opened the door or called through it to help this child. The man was arrested (both for the assault on my son and attempting to burn down his girlfriend’s house with her in it a few days after the assault on my son). At the time I was enraged…after this latest tragedy I’m glad no one answered.
