Reliving The War takes a look at the WWF vs WCW Monday Night War that took place from 1995 - 2001. Fans had to choose which wrestling show to watch every Monday night, WWF viewers would tune into Raw is War while WCW fans could watch Monday Nitro on TNT. Both organizations would try to put on the best show they could in order to get the all-important ratings victory on a weekly basis, leading to one of the most popular time periods in professional wrestling. Reliving The War looks at every match and promo that took place during the Monday Night Wars.
It's the Monday before WWF Unforgiven 1998 and after WCW Spring Stampede 1998. On WCW Nitro Hollywood Hogan wants a shot at Macho Man Randy Savage's newly aquired World Heavyweight Championship, and Randy grants Hogan a title shot. The outcome of the match leaves fans scratching their heads as it appears a WCW babyface turns heel during the closing moments.
On WWF Raw is War Steve Blackman main events the show against Dude Love. Vince McMahon provides commentary for the match, and Stone Cold Steve Austin has promised to get his hands on the boss by the end of the night. The finish to the main event also leaves fans confused but it's quickly made clear that Mr. McMahon is up to his old tricks again.

I very much remember watching this episode of Nitro. Not only because I remember Goldberg Winning the the US title, but I also remember Jerco and that picture of Dean. This was a long time ago, and I was young. So I had breaks where I couldn't afford cable and didn't watch wrestling. This was one of the good times. I think I had been watching for at least a few weeks before this because I know I popped for Goldberg and I wouldn't have if this was my first Nitro in six months or something.

Your videos inspired me to try to get back into watching WWE, used to watch religiously in the 80s and 90s through the end of the War. Also lived in Philly during ECW's heyday so got to see them on the local paid programming station from the start. However... today's wrestling is so sanitized, shiny and bright. Every color is "electric". Electric blue, yellow, green, red, pink, purple. And the amount of makeup everyone wears, guys and girls. They all look orange, and they all look the same. Miss the pyro too. Oh well, these videos bring me back, appreciate the work you do.

I just want to tell you how nostalgic this video is for me as this was the first wrestling event I ever attended with my brother & cousin, it was taped the Tuesday before and I’ll never forget when Stone Cold came out into the arena at the top of war zone i thought the the roof blew off the Nassau Coliseum, I was becoming a big wrestling fan but after seeing it live i was hooked for life, i can’t believe it was almost 25 years ago where does the time go, what a time to be alive to witness the Monday Night Wars wrestling will never as on top as it was then but these memories are great keep up the great work

I remember this episode vividly because of the DX segment. Not because I found the segment particularly funny, but because I found JR's response to Triple H firing the supersoaker. I'm sure JR knew what was going to happen, but he's never sold anything better in his career than when he said "GOOD LORD!" in response to the first shot of water, and I absolutely lost it laughing 😂.

Happy youre back at it! Shitty about the sinus infection. Midweek of my vacation in November, got hit with a head cold. This timeline of wrestling is legit the hottest ever. I was flipping back and forth channels thanks to having Dish Satellite at the time. Mostly stuck with WWF, but tuned to WCW for some big moments, and Goldberg beating Raven for the US Title was a huge moment. Tuesdays at school was all about wrestling. I gave WCW info to my friends since I had TNT and Canada at the time didn't carry TNT.
