Reliving The War takes an in-depth look at the WWF vs WCW "Monday Night War" era of pro wrestling. Week by week every episode of Raw and Nitro gets covered (including every match and every promo) to find out which show was really the best.
On Nitro this week WCW make more preparations for their Starrcade PPV; tensions rise between Goldberg and Kevin Nash, but both men are also concerned about Bam Bam Bigelow. Elsewhere on the show, Disco Inferno announces that he’s joining the nWo wolfpac, Chris Jericho takes on Bobby Duncum Jr. once again, and we see promos from Bret Hart, Ric Flair and Scott Steiner.
The WWF get ready for WWF Rock Bottom: In Your House that takes place later in the week. Stone Cold Steve Austin says he's ready for the Buried Alive match although he admits the match favours his opponent, while The Undertaker announces that Austin will be sacrificed before the end of Raw. Triple H gets back to action this week when DX take on the Corporation, The Acolytes are scheduled to make their Raw in-ring debut as a tag team, and the Headbangers have a tag team match against The Brood.,

I’ve been waiting for this episode for that very reason. It’s certainly one of the most memorable moments in wrestling for me growing up as a fan as I remember being in elementary school and literally CRYING because I believed Taker had killed Stone Cold. I can recall it so vividly. The crucifixion, Undertaker eye roll, and fade to black. My younger self was mortified.

Been waiting for this. This is the first of 2 Nitros shows I was backstage at. I was a stagehand. I got Goldbergs autograph (lost it) and shook hands with Kevin Nash (I was starstruck he was my favorite)while walking down a corridor. Saw the Giant sitting on the back of a golf cart and the front tires were in the air. Scott Steiner spent the whole time working his arms out on rubber bands. And Booker T had a red corvette that he took off in up the ramp at the end of the show.

Eric Bischoff talked about the collapse of wcw beginning in mid 98 when Ted was ousted from control of his company and a boardroom full of suits told Eric that they wanted him to make his product a more kid friendly show, the very thing he’d forced McMahon to stop doing in order to compete with nitro. Having seen this clip a few months back I’ve been keeping an eye out for the more ‘kid friendly’ content, but the two main events show the real truth, both booked good matches that the viewership would want to see, but only one of them actually did the match and the other just hit repeat again with the same old run in. At times I can’t decided whether nitro’s booking is just mixed, schizophrenic or depressingly lazy.

Can we get a "Jammin on Bret's Rope" t-shirt!!!! I also gotta say Disco Inferno has been great throughout the war. He's been olde reliable on that low to mid card for WcW. A very underrated dude during this time.
