I just bought a 2015 435, has lots of those expensive options you mentioned. Love the looks of the car and it is fun to drive. It also has the M Performance package which includes the exhaust which is more throaty and deep, yet doesn’t increase horsepower oddly enough. Mine didn’t come with the blue M calipers or large 270mm rotors. Still, it’s fun and fast! Previously I had a 2009 335i with the N54 engine. That car went just short of 200,000 miles with very few issues. It’s why I bought another BMW

Surprised by this review - every other review states how immaculate and well presented the finish is. Dated, for sure, but the materials in the cabin are exceptional. They're soft-touch almost everywhere.
@RawAutos9 жыл бұрын
+John Godwin Most of those people haven't owned these cars and know the abuse they'll take. Some of the interior is soft, plenty is not. It's a shit-show of plastic. When you're spending M3 money on a car that isn't an M3, I'd like to see less plastic and bullshit. This isn't a C5 or C6 Corvette, for God's sake.
@JohnGodwin9 жыл бұрын
RawAutos I've since taken delivery of a 430 and can confirm that most of the materials present, especially those within fair reach, are all nice soft-touch plastic. The funny thing is, even certain parts of the vehicle that you would realistically never really touch are still high quality plastic.

The interior in this is awesome. I tested an Audi A5 S line, Mercedes C Class but bought the BMW 430d GC M Sport. The interior to me is much better suited to what this car stands for. It's a GT. It needs to have that sporty touch. The other two felt like they were going for a luxury image, especially the Merc (a bit tacky too), which isn't quite in keeping with a sports trim in my opinion. The simpler internal setup of the BMW is also awesome from a driver's perspective. All the materials are soft touch plastic. High quality fit and finish.

If you want Bluetooth Audio Streaming capability you don't need to get the Technology Package ($3150), you can just get Navigation instead ($2150), because the only difference is getting a HUD projection for another $1k additional. You have to understand that you can't compare economy cars with a BMW because it's in a different class of its own, remember you get what you paid for; luxury, safety, and sportiness also you forgot to mention that you don't have to pay for maintenance because that's already included in your payment. BMW puts more money investing in the technology itself rather than the car itself. I find it hilarious that people would lease/buy a BMW, not get the Navigation or DA package and say that they will use their phone as Navigation, first time BMW owners can't see the value, even though Navigation has a multitude of different uses other than maps. I always say go big or go home, you're already looking at a $50k + car and chances are your probably going to go with lease to get the lowest payment and not having the commitment to own it. At the end of the day everybody has their own idea of what luxury, safety, and sportiness means, it's up to the buyer to do their homework before they walk into the dealership, and if the salesmen can find out what your interests are than the car will sell itself, maybe that's why BMW doesn't have commercials against the competitors because they don't need to make fun at the competition. Instead other competition is making fun of BMW because that's what you see so prevalently on the roads and how many accolades and awards have BMW won over the years, so BMW can price their cars however they want, because repeat BMW owners can see the value in it. BMW has created the 320i as an entry level sedan to reach a newer buyer but make it affordable it may lack the aesthetics of the M-Sport but hey it's affordable for a college grad. I'm now going to another tangent, but the funny thing is you have read for this long so now I know you have my attention. Last reason why you should get this car; because you were smart in your decision making when you told your dealer to build your car; you picked Dynamic Handling Package. The Dynamic Handling Package gives the punch to the competitors but with brass knuckles, with DHP the cornering of the car on tight roads you can turn on a dime; you can hit nearly 50 MPH on a turn near 60-70 degrees and feel the 4g lateral force, the results; very little body roll, acute amount of tire screeching, impressive handling because the DHP automatically adjust the suspension for better turning radius, if without the DHP than you would have more tire screeching. You should take that car on the Nurburgring race track or your local race track to test my theory if you don't believe me. Anyways dude Congrats on the car I'm thinking of getting that or the new M4.

Its really worth the price..... whenever I drive the 2015 BMW 435i coupe, it brings pure enjoyment. LOL. I was going to build and buy a new 2019 and just could not justify the 65K price!! Found 2015 for 22K less with M Sport, Premium, Technology, 19 wheels, and M brakes.....thrilled but you are completely right about the packages.
@propchef10 жыл бұрын
The bit about pricing is just a bit misleading. I just bought a 2015 335i M-Line M-Sport package WITH Nav, bt streaming, backup camera, same Estoril color, adaptive suspension. I DID NOT get LED lights (lol), active cruise, and a half dozen other options that are really fluff. After some haggling (no one pays MSRP), $53k out the door. It's all about knowing the options and packages. Steering feel? Well, it isn't a sports car, but it is a very sporty and comfortable daily driver that is pretty damn quick and fun to drive. Find another car in the same price range that can compare. It's tough. Besides, I have an M3 in the same color when I feel a hooligan coming on.
@RawAutos10 жыл бұрын
Well you're forgetting the fact that the 335i, your car, is $2,250 cheaper base to base after destination. So you buying your car at 53,xxx out the door would equal about 55-56,xxx OTD on the 435. So in total, your car is actually about as much as this car was. You didn't get LEDs because they aren't an option on the 3-Series. You haggled, which is great. I wouldn't recommend anyone paying sticker. So that being said, your comment about price is not really ranking everything on a level playing field. One costs more base, there's an option on this tester that isn't offered on yours, and you haggled the price down. What was the original price on the sticker? You should have added that in to make your point a little more understandable and valid.

I grabbed a fully loaded 2015 version with even the carbon fibre package for 52k out the door with extended warranty. who the hell just pays sticker price ? steering feedback is abit low but most everything in the interior is anodized aluminum or soft plastic. exhaust note needs to be louder but is quiet on long trips, I guess they have to please the larger crowd that doesn't want a growly exhaust cruising on the freeway. fit and finish are superb. this car is sooo worth 52k.

That test car had the aluminum interior trim. When I've seen them that way, they've looked cheap to me too. There's an anthracite wood option now, at no cost, which is a black linear grained wood that I think dresses up the interior without making it seem to "lux-y". Or, for $1000, you can get a slick carbon fiber and alcantara dash treatment, or alternatively a full leather surfaced dash. Any of these options, I bet, would have improved your opinion of the interior. Also, that flat black plastic surrounding the shift lever isn't doing the look any favors. Looks better with a 6-speed. ;)

Have a 435i xdrive grand coupe. Researched delivery in Europe which while you may save 7% it is not what it is cracked up to be. Not the fault of BMW except if they are a day or two off on delivery. If they are all plans are out the window. If you stay in Germany you might break even. Italy and Austria have to many rules and costs (road) that take time. As it is it took 2 months from order to build and deliver in Ohio. So far around town 24-25 mpg and 33 on hwy at 70+. M Sport with all options but the headlights.

Thanks for the review. However, no! there is no debate on that; and this car is not ``basically a 3 series coupe`` or ``a replacement`` for that. It is just BMW stopped making 3 series coupe...This car is 4 series which is longer wider and lower than 3 series coupe. I drove a lot of BMW`s since i had a drivers license. Never my own; but couple of Beemer fan friends had m5, m3, 318is, 8.50csi, 3.20d, 5.20, 5.28, x5, x3, x1, 6.45. Never my own... Then i could finally afford since any luxury object is super cheap here in USA. I purchased a 4.28i Msport and now i have a 2016 4.35i Msport. I can`t tell you how perfect this car is, yes very old fashioned inside. Some cheap plastics i agree. Mine is almost fully loaded and i only paid $56k+tax (msrp was 62k) due to very good relations with the dealership. I lived 30 years in Europe and now 6 years in USA. Any car is a steal in USA. with only ~8% tax lol? You think this car is expensive? No water is expensive here. Cars and gas is very cheap! Unless ofc you want to compare it to the price of a Kia. Or an Acura which is only a rebranded Honda. Lexus, infinity etc etc.... Those asian cars are expensive for what they actually are... And before the 4 series ownership, i had 2 different genesis coupe`s both 2013 2.0t and 3.8 track. Wife has a Santa Fe 2.0t sport and i test drove genesis sedan, equus, elantra, azera and veloster (service loaner sonata and tucson too). Despite the fact that Hyundai started making very nice-elegant cars lately; it is far from being close to BMW. forget being better than BMW. That`s almost like; calling ``Phoenix Suns`` a good team! Hyundai has at least another decade to be accepted and prove itself in the market for the segments.
@RawAutos9 жыл бұрын
+metin emre gurbuz I appreciate your comment, but the 4-Series is a 3-Series with two fewer doors. So it's a 3-Series coupe that they call the 4-Series. It's not a radically changed or different car under the bodywork. It's the same thing as a 3, just with two doors. So it's still a 3-Series coupe.
@metinemre69 жыл бұрын
No it is not. It is very easy to distinguish a 3 series coupe from a 4 series coupe and they don`t have to be parked next to each other. If you are talking about the chassis yes it is same but same engine being used in different cars and sometimes a car and a truck and that doesn`t make them same either. They are different cars and whoever says 3 coupe and 4 coupe are same or 4 coupe is a 3 series coupe has no idea about cars. They drive different handle different accelerate different. Sorry. Maybe if you had one of your own you would think different.
@RawAutos9 жыл бұрын
+metin emre gurbuz I've had multiple BMWs, including an E90 M3, for my personal cars. I've driven enough BMWs over the years, so I know what I'm talking about. The 3 and 4 look rather different from one another, duh... but they're nearly identical under the skin, which is what I'm talking about. That's why I call it a 3-Series coupe. The 4-Series isn't a real thing. You see the number on the back of the car, but under the skin is enough of a 3-Series to prove it's just a 3 with two fewer doors.

Big difference here; 4dr vs 2dr. And the Audi has a front bias to its cars that make them feel very different in sporty driving. Based on what? The whole dash of the A5 is so dated its unreal, as for the quality, have you even sat in a A5 before? Apart from the seats 90% is all plastic anyway, full of shit, also in the A5 you get a airy Vectra feel, discusting and dated, not to mention the car drives like a beached whale.
@pascutia10 жыл бұрын
How is everything a hard plastic?? Everything in the interior is soft touch!!
@Johnny-yr4rb9 жыл бұрын
The price is not bad at all I ha e one and what your paying is for German engineering, engine, suspension, track handling and the car is meant to be driven hard! Cant even compare to Audi which are all plastic, heavy nose weight distribution while BMW are almost 50/50 splitt perfect weight distribution. And cant even compare to POS american cars which cant corner, everything cheap plastic, break a lot and are super over priced!
@mytwocents93358 жыл бұрын
+Johnny Dont forget that they can't compare to Japanese or Korean makes as well!

I mean, all new cars pricing are bad. I can get a 2014 435i for like 40 000$ with 3 year warranty. Man the car brand new here in Canada with it's options was about 80 000$

hard plastics? WTF? Maybe you have a wart on your finger that makes soft materials feel hard.. I can recommend a Dr... call me. Edit.. I 100% agree with you on the pricing.. REDUNK!
@RawAutos10 жыл бұрын
I'm good on the doctor, thanks though. But yes, the entire center stack and console area are nothing but hard black plastic. That's what that stuff is called that you're touching. I guess you didn't know what it actually was that you were looking at. You don't need a doctor, but you came to the right place to learn something about cars. I guess you could say I'm an automotive professor. Thanks for watching, now you're free to do whatever else.
@laweezemorton888410 жыл бұрын
you're welcome for watching, but I still think you need to see a Dr. about that wart. BTW, I own a 435 M-sport.. Spot on about pricing (I hate BMW's shitty pricing scheme), but your brutish hands undoubtedly need some medical attention..
@RawAutos10 жыл бұрын
Haha, my brutish hands. As much as it'll come back to bite me in the ass later I'm sure, people always say how soft my hands are. Years and years of little manual labor, but lots of driving will do that to you. I never said that they buttons were shitty to touch. I just said that the entire interior is hard black plastic. The volume knob is soft, though. My E90 M3 had softer materials wrapping the center console area.
@laweezemorton888410 жыл бұрын
I also have an e92 328xi with the sport package ( basically the same interior as your e90 M3) as a car for winter.. The F32 wins, hands down, in interior quality.. Good to hear I was wrong about your warty hands..I hear they can be a PITA to get rid of
@RawAutos10 жыл бұрын
Laweeze Morton Eh, I think they're both not-so-hot interiors. The E9x was nice for its subtlety that just worked. The F3x is far more sparse, which is nice, but I feel the materials in this series are just pure plastic compared to at least being covered with some fabric like the center area of my M3. To be fair, I did have a wart on my left palm from Olympic lifting. I had a doctor friend burn it off (which hurts like hell, by the way), and it went away. Then it came back... and went away soon after by itself. Hasn't come back since.

Btw, it doesnt not look so boring when the interior is Coral Red.

Yeah, not sure what happened when I uploaded this. I reuploaded it twice because the voice was getting crushed. Rather buy a Corvette at this price range. It's much more of a head turner and has tremendously more power than this car. Also can't believe at $57,000 before tax and other fees you don't have navigation and a back up camera, that's crazy!

mufate7 I showed you the "engine unit". There's not much to see with a big cover over it. And realistically, it's a four-seat coupe. If you're looking for the biggest rear seat in this category, what in the hell are you doing buying a coupe over a sedan?
