Greens Commercial DC Vacuum Blender FGR-8800 Review Comparison

Hi John I can't actually the vacuum blending accessory on the Greenis site, in fact I can't find anywhere except on your website that stocks that particular vacuum pump that fits the Greenis 8800. Am I just being thick in not being able to find it? xD Thanks

I played with a Greenis blender and discovered that they shut off quickly when blending anything really thick, not because they're overheating but because the carafe twists relative to the base and the base thinks the carafe has been removed because it can no longer detect the magnets embedded in the carafe. Holding the carafe in place solves the problem, but it's a design flaw. Also, I agree about Greenis's blades not being great, but the good news is that the Greenis blade can be replaced with a Vitamix blade (they fit perfectly) after which the Greenis performs just as well as the Vitamix.

It appears to be more powerful and has a larger, thicker materialed carafe than the Air-Free vacuum blender that I purchased from you this past summer. Which is a great entry level vacuum blender by the way. I hope that a Vita-Mix engineer is going to watch this video for the idea of that vacuum pump lid!

great demo video. i purchased the biochef carafe and vacuum pump (from discount juicer) that turns my 5200 vita-mix into a vacuum blender. great investment. i have done my own "blend off" with my 5200 vita-mix using the regular carafe blender and the biochef vacuum blender carafe. the results were vita-mix carafe blender LOSER and the biochef vacuum carafe WINNER. vacuum blending is the only way to blend. i am glad i have made the decision to upgrade my juicing equipment as my budget allows.

SAME! I can no longer drink smoothies from the Vita-mix carafe. I only use it for mixtures that are so thick as to require the tamper.

Conclusion: let's wait until Vitamix comes out with a vacuum blender. They have 90+ years of experience building blenders. For green smoothies Vitamix seems to be the gold standard.

DIFFERENT TOPIC. OMEGA VSJ834. when the feed chute won't release from the body , i discovered that it was caused by a vacuum seal being created by the exiting pulp and closing the juice plug. when this happens, i open up the juice plug, switch the reverse button 2 or 3 times quickly and it releases the feed chute. try it.

What we really need is for vitamix to make a vacuum blender. Other blenders just fall short in terms of power, blade design, etc...

I have a tip for not getting the lid dirty when blending; I use baking paper to cover the lid while blending. That way just the carafe gets dirty and you're not wasting whatever you're blending down the drain. ;) And, in regards to the challenge, it would have been a more fair comparison if you used non-blended coconut in the Bugatti. It could have gotten stuck as well, you never know!
