Got a text her cat died, on would be anniversary date, and it was Thanksgiving. It was a trifecta for her. Fortunately she was blocked. I saw the messages after the fact. I had no idea my phone still has record of text even though the # is blocked. I'm so glad I didn't see the messages in real time. I'm ready for Christmas.

I think my narc ex is trying to gear up for one-- he showed up at my workplace 3 months ago and the day after Thanksgiving. The first time i had to deal with him-- but i treated him like a stranger. Last week I pretended he didn't exist and removed myself from the sales floor. Don't think it can't happen -- I left him over 4 years ago.

I've been with mine for almost 18 years, and he demands to know why I hate birthdays and holidays and there's no way to explain it's because his criticism is inundating and there's no chance it won't be miserable. I mess up every Christmas, and I just ...can't move beyond apathy any more, even for my kids. There's no point in even trying. Faking it is taking all my energy.

Man i just got mine today, checked my spam folder and bam! There she was, telling me happy new year and giving me a whole summary of everything going on with her, and how she has been doing so well, its crazy though because i realize that the hoover was only to talk about herself and it had nothing to do with me. Im staying no contact, i got a new email account now and now im narc free, im on this video only because i was confused though and didnt understand. So thank u for clarifying everything for me! I knew i wasnt crazy!

I got a christmas card hoover. I could see right through it. It was filled with the narcissistic mumbo jumbo. Straight in the bin.

Believe it or not, it was actually the opposite way round for me. Around holiday times I'd be discarded. Probably because he either enjoyed the 'Cat & Mouse' game of attracting new supply because I stood my boundaries, and\or because it was because he wanted to spend his free time with his mates than me. It was usually after the season(s) had ended he'd hoover me. 🍒

This was such a great video, the idea of making that list of all the 💩💩💩 things they did to you and signing your name at the bottom was priceless. Sometimes we need those harsh reminders especially as normal people when the holidays are a time of joy, love, forgiveness and peace… but remember above all these is peace and you can’t get that in the presence or interactions with a narc!! 🗣🗣👏👏🎯🎯

Yea, he contacted me through my daughter while he was in the hospital, right after Thanksgiving and right before his birthday. Now he's trying to go through them to talk to me at Christmas time. Even trying to come over to open presents, but I don't want to be around him at all. This is so true and has had my head all crazy again. He's supposed to be talking to someone else, but seems to still always talk about me, instead of who he's supposably talking to. Thank you for pointing this out to me, because it all makes sense now.

Nah. I doubt it, it’s been 3 years of holidays I been no contact and no Hoover. I’m pretty sure they KNOW not to bother me again

This is a really good presentation Ben, the way you have broken it down and explained it so well is really powerful to listen to. This has been happening to me each Christmas and New Year for too long. It ruins our Christmas and is depressing that you've foolishly let them back in to your fresh New Year. Dragging this toxic man along again!! Soul destroying. Getting dragged back into his Game. It's truly dreadful. Thank you for this pep talk, this encouragement to stay strong. They use our empathy and compassion at this time of year to manipulate us into giving them another chance to put things right, but it simply doesn't happen. OMG this just happened to me last week after 2years of me being gone and hear was my statement to him I told him you didn't want me for 10 year's other than hurting me you definitely don't want me now he got so upset and left where he ran into me out said he wanted to make amends I said not in this life time Merry Christmas
