I think this is an incredible version. Ray and Elton both put their heart and soul into their singing in this version. RIP Ray. Both are absolutely incredible entertainers. Ray was without a doubt one of the greatest singers of ALL time. Elton will also go down in history as one of the 20th centuries greatest singers/composers/songwriters.

Joe, One other thing to add to your excellent comment is the roll of inspiration to a young artist. This is a combination of those two things merging. The student and the teacher performing together.

Theyre completely different artists: elton has legendary piano skills and when he sings its like hes telling you a story. While on the other hand ray hit you right to the heart as if he was making you feel the same emotions, real emotions. Both legendary artists, legendary album.

it's almost like ray is just talking the lyrics, he makes it sound so easy haha elton has an uncanny way of making any song sound like he lived it, which he sometimes did. both have so much pain in they're voice it's incredible.

This is Ray Charles last song he made for this album and the last one he ever made. The guy was superhuman. He never complained while he was in pain from cancer. He expected the best from everyone including himself. Elton still talks about Ray Charles at his concerts and dedicates this song to him. The original mixing board for this song has never been changed since he made this song and died. Til this day it still hasnt been touched
