30+ years ago, I heard a recording of an emergency call from, if I remember right, Peoria. This song had to come from this conversation. I remember that one of the radio stations made a skit from the same conversation. But, it left out quite a bit. The call started off with the caller yelling, "Send a man with a gun!" The dispatcher had this guy on the phone for close to 10 minutes. The dispatcher was very professional, but at one point had to put the guy on hold so he could laugh. Supposedly, the guy hit a deer with his car and was trying to get it into his car to take it to the vet. Uh, huh. The dogs that were chasing it didn't take too kindly at this interloper trying to take their deer. The guy got a tire iron from his trunk and chased the dogs off, then put the deer in the back seat of his Eldorado. Once he got the deer in, the dogs returned and bit him on his butt. He ran away and was holed up in a phone booth, where he had called the police department. All of a sudden, the guy's voice goes up about 4 octaves and he yells "send the man with a gun," again. The dispatcher asks what's going on. The guy is screaming that the deer just kicked the rear window of his Eldorado out. The dispatcher is trying to determine where the guy is located. This was pre-9-1-1. The guy was telling him he was near the "Fod dealer, near the 'Noco station." Finally, the dispatcher figures out it was a Chrysler dealership and sends help. Having some experience as a fire dispatcher, I have taken more than a few weird calls. So, this wasn't beyond believable.

Funny something happend to us similar hunting in Colorado, we hit a deer coming from town headed to camp threw it in the back of the pickup damn thing woke up pissed we had a horse rack on the pickup it started jumping trying to get out it finally did .I was 16 at the time I'm in my 60s now one of my favorite trip memories lol
