Heifetz was playing a concert in New Mexico and realise he didn’t have any Mexican music on his programme, then heard this in a bar and cause of his perfect pitch he wrote the piece on the back of a napkin, and later that night arranged it for violin and piano - that piece is what you are listening to in this video

steph I know, but in Spanish speaking countries the song twinkle twinkle little star is just referred as "estrellita". So in our language it literally has the same name as twinkle twinkle little star . so I was wondering if this estrellita has something to do with the other estrellita.

Not at all. Manuel Ponce is credited as the founder of the Mexican Nationalist Music movement. The first Mexican ethnomusicologist. He went from Romanticism (Estrellita, A pesar de Todo, Apasionadamente) to Nationalism. In 1910 he made a recollection of Mexican folk music including an out of this world version of ¨La Cucaracha¨, Las Mañanitas (Mexican Birthday song), Jarabe, Sandunga, Cielito Lindo . He also wrote versions inspired in Bach, Handel, Debussy. A very prolific composer born in Fresnillo Zacatecas 1882. Success.
