@@Exl_Kaldra you will likely never see a countach broken down on the side of the road because unlike most people with modern cars the owners actually care for the vehicle making sure nothing breaks, if anything old vehicles from the 70s and 80s are more durable than modern cars.

The black Trans Am with gold eagle on the hood from Smokey and the Bandit was to me, the coolest, most beautiful car ever made. It was perfection. Why do they stop making cars like that? My first car was a 1979 blue, two tone, Rally Sport Camaro, with t-tops that I bought used in 1985. Sure the engine overheated after driving it for more than an hour, but damn it looked awesome.

And based on a real event, the organiser of which (Brock Yates) features in the movie as....the event organiser. In reality, he actually DID drive a Dodge Van made to look like an ambulance, along with his wife in the back as the patient for when they got pulled over by the cops (which actually happened). They were a DNF though sadly, arriving at the finishing point on a flat bed truck having suffered a transmission failure (also referenced in the movie).

That's the thing working with actors who have already made it. As they are not scared to take a risk on playing a part in a novie which may be panned by critics. If you are an up and coming actor one bad movie can end your career, if you already have made millions you just don't have to care if the movie bombs. It's not that Dean Martin, Burt, Roger and the rest were needing the money. The same thing goes for Clint Eastwood, the 2 movies he made with the ape as his companion were slaughtered by critics,, but Clint and his co stars were in a position that they could take a risk and doing a movie just for fun.

Mid engining the Corvette took away the magic of it, it became an American Ferarri rip off. A massive uncultured V8 in the front, rear wheel drive with vey few driver aids like traction control attached and made of fibreglass made it light. So with the older corvettes it really was a case of FLOOR THE GAS AND HANG ON TO YOUR ASS.

Of course, that’s not actually the sound of the Lambo’s engine, but a Ferrari 365 from 1972! The Lambo didn’t have the deep growl they wanted, so they dubbed it.

@rasmuschristensen2173 8 ай бұрын
The owner of the actual car told that it is all Lambo sound.. they did dub it some places but with its own sound from 12 straight pipes. You cannot record the engine sound from a helikopter, so thats why they had to do i like that in the scenes from the distance.

Unfortunately the more I’ve watched this and recognize the locations, the more I realize the continuity errors and horrible editing. They literally used the same shot twice from a different camera angle, watch for the RV that shows up twice in the exact same spot.

I was once late to the airport and was seriously speeding to get there on time, i was then i was overtaken by like 20+ Countach's and Diablo's which sounded amazing, then to top it all a XJ220 came past at i am guessing somewhere over 170mph+ as i was doing over a 100mph and it came past like i was standing still. They were on some car cruise and were using their cars as they were meant to be used :). That V12 lambo noise always gives me chills such a iconic engine.

The cars now are so much more powerful. The Countach had about 450 HP, very good for a production car in the 80's. Now the Lambos all push 800+ HP. But I still love the Countach. I believe Lambo revived the Countach recently.

What an opening scene! I was probably 9 years old when I saw this in the 80's, in the U.K. The car was just from another planet and the ladies blew my mind and all backed with an amazing song. Who knew a few decades later I'd have driven hot cars and quick bikes on the very roads in this video. Still haven't managed to do them in a black Lambo. That front spoiler is just the coolest. Never say never, so they say.
