@Rocket Jump Ninja How is the new pulsefire Haste 2, eagerly waiting for a review from you. Could you suggest a replacement for the viper mini on a budget, was thinking of the haste 2 as the replacement, relaxed claw 18.5/9 cm hands. Thanks a lot.
@RocketJumpNinja

Haste is pretty big so not really a replacement for the Viper Mini ... Cooler Master MM710 maybe? They'd be cheap these days and they're a very similar shape. I'm not really up to date on current mice so not entirely sure what prices are and all that. Working on Haste 2 review but had an issue with the wireless one so just trying to figure out if it's my PC / set up or something going on with the mouse. I've had a few stutter issues lately in general so might be some software I had to install for one of the mice I'm testing. Will upload the videos when they're done!

@@RocketJumpNinja Thanks mate, love the content and thanks for the recommendation. Can confirm the MM710 is cheap now, i think ill go for that. I feel the Viper mini is too small in a way, Any speculation on when the mini V2 or Viper 2 or even DA V3 mini comes out? Cheers.

For anyone using Razer Viper V2 Pro and struggling with a grip, like the mouse sliding a bit - I really suggest giving the included rubber skin a try and applying it. For me personally it really improved the control feeling of the mice

@@gtyuitr Viper was always more of a fingertip maybe hybrid claw compared to GPX that can be palm-claw if you want it to. So basically a less safe shape, but it is the perfect (standard size) fingertip and/or possible fingertip - claw mouse. Ofc for strictly claw I can recommend better ones - namely the Logitech Shroud edition G303, that forces you to claw on it.

MZ1 arrived 2 days ago, I used to hate small mice because they would make my hand and wrist cramp and even hurt, I also criticized your take on smaller mice being better for aiming but after trying your mouse all I can say is that I'm waiting for your next release, I just love it. Edit: Reading a dude mentioning the Orochi V2 in the comments reminds me of how that mouse makes my wrist hurt after a bit of using it, I gave it months but it still kept happening, I don't know what magic you used on the MZ1 but it doesn't feel uncomfortable at all as small as it is, shape really is king (also literally all mice should have the rails you put on the buttons, absolutely goated) Edit 2: My hands are 18x9 for anyone wondering
@ghawkins7106

i got my mz1 around a week ago and my god its gorgeous. I have very odd shaped hands that have never seemed to feel like they "fit" any mouse, but the mz1 is starting to make me think that it is possible. I fully relate to your change of perspective on small mice, and my thought process at least is since my hands are larger than most I would have to use my hand muscles in a weird claw fingertip hybrid just to have enough stability to aim, but since the mz1 compliments a looser grip style it works for more sizes.

I just made the shape based on what felt good in my hand, and that's after using what, 100 different mouse shapes? I figure I took the best features (for me) from each and then gave it a unique style of its own to bring them all together. Glad it worked out! Really interesting reading people's experiences, if I ever get to design another mouse, I'll keep it all in mind. Thanks for the feedback and glad the shape is working for you!

Gotta jump on this wagon, I am really pleased with the MZ1, I have played FPS for most of my life, probably about the same amount as Zy, started with UT back in 1998, and haven't stopped. I was using a glorious model O, and was feeling cramped with it, it was getting in the way of some complicated stuff I was trying to do (like rocket jump flick shots, or escape maneuvers), with the MZ1, and some Aimlab to help train myself, I have both increased my accuracy and ease of movement, especially in games where movement technique is intrinsically linked to how you move your mouse (arena titles like Quake). Really great design, and honestly the MZ1 feels more comfortable than the Model O and it's similar designs. My hand can do what it needs to do without the design interfering as much. I used the weight shift on the MZ1, finding that the grooves on the buttons helped with finger aiming, and is almost light and effortless and was revelatory for me (let me geek out). I nearly settled on the V2 Pro, but figured It was time to try something different and am glad I did, as most mice follow the standard formula you see in the Model O, G Pro, and the V2 Pro.

Agreed, it's awesome. It's terrible when people fake 21:9 in a 16:9 video, end up getting black bars all around. That said, 16:9 people not watching this in theater mode will get that issue during the Quake Live footage. Imagine if we could have variable aspect ratio videos, wouldn't that be amazing (and probably not possible, would solve these issues though).

I have the razer viper ultimate and decided to try out the v2 pro. It as disappointing, at least for me. Performance wise the v2 and ultimate performed the same. The only improvement is that the v2 has better grip as someone with sweaty hands. I don't think it's worth $162 I spent considering the only improvement for me being the grip. Don't get me wrong it's still a good especially if you're coming from something entirely different.

Hello! Been watching a lot of your videos lately, I have fairly large hands but wanted to try the G203 Lightsync, been almost 1.5 years with the mouse and I have gotten used to the smaller shape however I recently used the deathadder essential at a friends house and I honestly felt more comfortable holding a bigger mouse. Now my budget isn't much and using your mouse 'calculator', the deathadder V2 could be the one for me, would you recommend that mouse or something else? Keeping the price at the same range however. Hope you reply and I can end my dilemma haha! THANKS!

@yorgash2193 Жыл бұрын
I can personally testify that the Deathadder V3 Pro is worth recommending for larger hands, but the V2... might be for you, but the difference between the two is huge. It's like one is a professional mouse made almost perfect for those who prefer that size/shape combination, while the other is a legacy from a time when gaming mice were more a gimmick than anything. Of course the DA had its basics laid down pretty well, but I feel like it only ever became a competitve mouse in the V3 version. I'd recommend looking for one second hand instead of buying a new V2.

I hate to rant but as a left handed gamer looking for a potential upgrade path or better and updated version for the viper, i really, really hate the trend of how every one of the very few good ambi mice are all now now solely going right hand biased on their next iterations and updates and completely ditching the true ambi part without even a version on offer that has the side buttons on the right. The Viper had the second best shape by far for my hand after the older, now much too outdated Mionix Avior7000 (which really had to be modded as it was way too heavy at stock). GproW (expensive but good quality) and the Zowie FK's (simple but solid) sadly really weren't comfy and efficient shapes for me. Leaving only the Sensei (yuck) as the only other "valid" other option, at least on paper, that i know about in the running... and frankly i'd rather ungrave and stitch up an undead Frankenvior before settling down on a Sensei or straight downgrading to something worse than the Avior7k like a Corsair M55. It's very discouraging looking for a new mouse and not even being able to scrape up 5 mice that are true ambi and somewhat well made and current and not from like almost a decade ago.

You know, I always kind of disagreed a little with your assessment of "safe shape". Wide flares towards the front (and possibly towards the top as well) and certain thumb button placements force the user into a certain grip for no reason. There is no advantage, except making the mice worse for people with super long thumbs and the preference of gripping the mouse further at the front for more precision (gripping further at the front + having a low grip width is key imo). Aside from that, mice with thumb buttons are never ambidextrous, yet they are still marketed this way.

I have a question about the dongle: Is there a performance dongle between the 4k and the normal dongle if you use 1000hz polling rate? Do you have any idea? My Laptop ain't taking the summer heat so well so I switched to 1k from 2k. I had trouble setting up my 4k dongle when I got it. I play on an open laptop with an external monitor so at some point I got the idea to use the touchpad😂. Almost sent it back because I assumed it was broken.
@yorgash2193
@yorgash2193 Жыл бұрын
Normal dongle is 1000Hz. You only really need 4K for a very competitive scenario, and probably even then it's not gonna decide anything even assuming 2 of the same person with the same guns and health face each other at the exact same timing; difference between 1ms and 0.25ms is 0.75ms which is basically lost between the other 80-100ms of variables that you simply can't helped, measured or fixed constant. Heck, even the timing you choose to power up your PC / fire up a game will probably have more of a difference than that :)

People can have their opinions. It's being left behind weight wise and stuff, but it's still the mouse I'm going to choose to use because for me, the shape is by far the best and that more than makes up for the weight difference. Would love to see a pro version with no holes, no RGB and much lower weight. 4k polling rate is a gimmick, not worth it. Same deal with the newer sensors, really not a big deal or something we'll notice in game. So that's all I'd be caring about. It's still S tier for me though, aim is still clearly best with it and that's what matters most when it comes to competitive FPS!

Had the mouse for roughly 6 months now. Here is my short opinion: Pros: - Mouse is slippery without the grips. - Grips that come with the mouse are good. - All buttons have a very consistent and tactile feeling. - Optical switches which are rated for significantly more clicks than a mechanical switch. - Side buttons are high quality, good tactile feeling. - On board memory - download razer, configure, uninstall, keep your setting stored on the mouse. - Safe shape, good for palm grip and relatively forgiving with different grip styles. Cons: - Very poor scroll wheel and encoder - lots of noise when scrolling and it can jump if you place the scroll wheel in between two steps... not good. - M1, M2 clicks can be very loud. - M5 button has slightly loosened over my time with the mouse. - Overall build quality is rather poor. Mouse wheel and encoder is by far the worst I have ever used across any mouse. Currently I am thinking about returning the product but I am reluctant as the shape is really good for me. I might look into modding it - changing wheel encoder and other things. Overall, the mouse is good out of the box but I would definitely suggest modding it if you can. The internals of the viper v2 pro are also pretty good, so if you're into modding mice and customization, I would take the time to modify it. In saying that I have not modified it yet, though I am planning to modify it. I would opt to use the g-pro wireless, and if I could I would probably change to that.

I've had the mouse since release. Had not too much to risk, I always loved the Viper, and they did exactly as I would have asked them: removed right side buttons, made the left side better, made it lighter and wireless. I'd advise you try and RMA it. Mine has 0 issues (aside from the click sound you mentioned; it's about as loud as normal, but I didn't really care about its noise, the feeling was just right, that's more important to me). I gave Hell to side buttons (and scroll too, jumping and move forward for strafes in Apex), and also the M3 with pings. I have 0 issues of them feeling even slightly off, and I'm pretty sensitive to that. I'd imagine mine can't be the only one put well together, so definitely worth a try to get a new one if eligible.

love this mouse, but the optical switches are only for left and right click, and now the middle click on this mouse double clicks CONSTANTLY and has become unusable for 3d work / maya (my job)

@georgexander7170 well, my middle click doesnt, but that's a 1 of 1 case... also opened it up and the middle click uses a different microswitch not sure if it's also optical but I assume it's normal

Does the use of 2 vs 3 finger grip effect mouse choice?
@yorgash2193

Frankly it should. I imagine 3 finger usually means fingertip even with mice as light as they currently are.

The only good Razer mouse I've had was the Deathadder 4G. I've tried two vipers. The build quality was terible on both. Squeeky plastic and friction on clicking that you shoulnd't expect for something priced that high.

this mouse is specifically made to put and easly replace rubber grip tapes, yet razer do not sell pre-cut grip tapes for the V2 Pro, I don't get it Fortunately Corepad is here

Well it does come with a pair, but I imagine Razer is just as aware as the rest of us that most people would buy Corepad and similar anyways .

Yeah, that one I agree with. Something just feels dirty about having a software for setting the mouse up (Synapse) that somehow always ends up installing 2-3 packs I never need and requires internet connection and login to be able to do shit. Even worse than Logitech. Razer's Cortex / Synapse / whatever is currently a huge bloatware bordering malware. I always end up deleting it after setting up my mouse.

so on your top mice list this is currently number 1 but you said in this video that you put this under g pro x superlight so which is the currently number 1 on your top mice list?

I put the Viper Ultimate under the G Pro X because of weight. I've always preferred the shape of the Viper, so now that the Viper V2 Pro has lower weight too, it gets the top spot.

How could i ever trust razer enough to buy such a pricy mouse when my razer viper's mouse scroll wheel went bad after 1 year and the scroll wheel of the 8khz version they sent me as replacement had the same problem after 2 months, and now im stuck with a 2nd replacement that gets disconnected when moving mouse too fast and when i start pc i have to unplug it and plug it back in like 3 times. Holy moly guys i thought logitech having click problems after 2 years of usage was a problem but razer beat them all. Imagine you pay for a superior version, a max performance one, and it still has that shitty scroll wheel or some other bullshit wtf is this quality standard these days?

Yeah I was a bit worried about that ... I've switched to ultrawide so these videos are perfect for my screen, and someone said that these work really well in theater mode on KZbin 16:9, so I was hoping it'd work for both ratios? Is theater mode no good for you or you want full screen on 16:9?
@e_ighth
@e_ighth Жыл бұрын
@@RocketJumpNinja yeah i'm 16:9 full screen viewer. real advice would be to use linus tech tips aspect ratio. thats the example because i watched an ltt video right after this one and thought "damn his black bars are literally double the size of these ones". so what i'm saying is feel to use wider aspect ratios, it's just that this current one has way too big black bars
@Zez1nas
@Zez1nas Жыл бұрын
@@RocketJumpNinja Can confirm that on 16:10 laptop screen in theater mode this looks way better then 16:9 content which gets black bars, and also this current aspect ratio looks better on phones with 21:9 screens, but probably not so much for the 16:9 fullscreen users
