Got one of these for my 5 year old, 20£ guy said it just needed charged. Got home done a few tests turns out the board was kaput. Followed your video and done the bypass and it's now flying. Not bad for 20£. I was about to wire in my own relay then found this way much easier. Thanks a lot. I've no charger for it so hopefully it will still charge through the port whenever I get hold of one cheers buddy..

I found an E90 in a dumster today with a cracked battery. I was looking for a way to test it out with a benchtop power supply. Your bypass idea was great and was perfect for allowing me to test it out, it worked! Thank you!

Just did this today, worked like aa charm! I got an e90 out the trash, building a 24v cell to get some run time out of it. HOWEVER.. You can mix up two connections and as soon as you flip the switch it runs wild! Lol other than that good show!

Great if controller circuit knackered but as it is for an 8 year old, the brake switch will now have no effect on cutting out motor. Great stuff though 👍 my issue is no power when button pressed, turns out the relay isn't getting the ground , so like you I gave it a hard ground and the positive side of coil now has the yellow wire going to it, that way the button does the job and the foot pedal switch.

The kickstart feature on this scooter I think is dangerous. As your kids got one leg behind, the power kicks in at full power and sends them flying. It's a decent basic scooter but I think I'll be changing the speed controller for an actual normal speed controller with a real thumb throttle n if I get carried away, change the batteries for lipo to make it lighter and increase the range. I love to get a cheap one and make it better than just go out and buy an expensive one. Especially if u get a 2nd hand cheap one or find a broken one. They are so simple to work on.

It's really not a bad idea for a kickstart. If for whatever reason you are walking and hit the twist throttle, the scooter won't go on while you're holding on

@@PowerScissor No, that is different. I think the push start is a good idea because it has happened to me where I was walking my scooter out of the garage fast and it activated. It is a think fast moment and you have to run up and jump on (High risk) or drop it (Damaging). It would of happened to me more if there was no kick start. A car is just a stupid example btw.

Hi, I'm trying to bypass the kickstart feature. Is that done with the black wire shown in the video? What are the other 2 thin yellow wires for? (I'm trying to make it like in the video where you can press the button and it will automatically run the motors without having to manually speed it up first via kickstart in order to activate) I have the e90.

@@MADMODS The yellow wires are cut from the 2 small ports on the back right? Also, I notice the yellow wires are connected to red and black (+ and - I'm assuming) which color goes where? I can't tell looking at 7:39 because both are yellow

Ok so it doesn't matter what way round the yellow wires go as it's just a switch. The relay on the board is a electro magnet switch and what we want to do is turn that switch on to get power from the battery to the motor. The relay 4 connections 2 are for the motor switch the thick wires and 2 for the electro magnetic switch thin wires (theses are our yellow wires) because there for the switch it doesn't matter what way round we connect them.you want one yellow end connected to positive or negative it doesn't matter other yellow wire end on the relays electro magnet terminal then the other terminal needs to connect to the opsitate negitave or positive to the other end. I really hope I'm making sence to you if your still stuck Google relays and get a bit of info on them basically you are using the push switch to supply a power feed the a coil in the relay witch then switches a big switch in the relay that then puts power to the motor. Question! Can we get the Razor Sonic Glow Electric Scooter (USA) to go faster? I got my son one for Xmas and one of his friends parent's got their son a "freaging SEGWAY! scooter" and his friend's scooter goes 30mph and SMOKES his fancy light-up scooter. He's getting frustrated getting left behind. I can't afford a Segway scooter for my 9 year old right now! I have 2 adult daughters I'm trying to help get their first cars and even used car prices are through the roof right now! PLEASE HELP ME if it can be done!

I've got an E100 scooter, seems to have the exact same control board, however when joining the same 2 as you I still get clicking from the relay. Any ideas?

The relay clicks are supposed to happen. That's the feed for the motor power.

I can not here any clicking from the relay on my e100 but as i said below the light switch on off switch lights up red, could this be lack of charge its been stood and was working and must hold charge as 8 months no charge it still lights up and it has been used a very few time his little one did not like it, any feed back i would be great full.

My input up to the starter knob, it has 4 wires 2 orange 2 brown, its an e150 should i connect orange where uour yellow is? Anybody help pls i have limited time my yellow wires are to the brakes idk what to do HELP ASAP

I have got the razor 100 with the trottle turn swich on the handle bar, i switch it on the light come on red, i have tryd the push start but nothing, could it be there is not enough power in the battery as i am waiting on a charger, i thought it would still start even the battery is low.

Is it really just a cheapo electric bike controller? If that's true, I should be able to slap the whole setup from it onto one of my bikes. Thinking about it, the parts on the older model do look like cheap electric bike parts from Ebay, the kind of stuff I've considered buying.

I do have a question. If I have a 20v battery hooked up with the way you have this controller, Should the leads to my motor read 12volts, or 20volts? In other words, Does the controller bring the volts down to 12, or does it keep it at 20 without burning up the motor?

I got an e90 charging but stopped working..not sure of fault but think it's the go button. Found an e100 with throttle and brake was wondering if I could switch the throttle onto the e90 but the e100 has a cable from brake aswell going to loom is that just a e brake so to speak

This is a terrible idea, unless you want full power immediately and no finesse. The relay is PWM modulated (pulsed) to regulate the speed..
