RC ADVENTURES - RC4WD Trail Finder 2 - Toyota Hilux Scale Trail 4x4 Truck Upgrade Video PT 1

www.RCSparks.com - Recently, I decided to upgrade my original Trail Finder 2 truck, and put an Exocage on it. I knew the RC4WD company made one.. but only for the Trail Finder 1! With a little modification, I got mine to fit snug into place. BUT, while I was overviewing the RC4WD website.. I saw the Trail Finder 2 actually had a very large amount of Hop-up and Upgrade parts available. So, I started to make a list. I figured I should start with a Brand New TF2 - and make it a nice clean build. My plan was to only get a few things.. but my list was quickly longer than Santa's Naughty or Nice list.
So, I figured on getting a few different things so I could outfit BOTH of my Trail Finder 2 builds for the upcoming months of filming RC ADVENTURES. In this video, I show off the Winch bumper I will be using in future episodes. Its is Super Sturdy, and really light in weight. Perfect for my trail style.
I also change out the Drive Shafts to some more solid Steel replacements. I like the original drive shafts, but know with my style of driving - I will pop the yolks before not too long.
I know people like to ask questions about the products I use, so I compiled a short list of links for your use. This way you can check current pricing, what it looks like up close, and all that other good stuff.
Next Video I will list the wheels and tires I use.. and maybe a few other goodies.

Hey there Medic, As always great vid mate !. Only small suggestion i can make, spin the driveshafts to opposite ends, so the female half is on the transfer, this enables the moisture to run out, and not gather. Also, CA glue is great as a 'locktite' thats weaker than blue. It kind of stiffens the tread, like a ny-locker does. And last thing, i wrap the end of the shafts around the grub with a line of 3mm automotive pinstripe. This means even if the shaft does come loose, the grub never falls out

Hi Medic, New scale hobbies here. Blue Loctite is a must I do agree. However I recently experience a cross thread issue. I have come to the conclusion that since this was a bolt (3mm) that gets pulled frequently, I believe it had a build up of loctite that was gumming up the threads and helped to mis-align the bold (3mm). So a 3mm tap is handy to clear out the gummy loctite from the threads inside the hole. Before reapply the loctite. This is only my assumption, recon it seems logical.

I really like the TF2, thinking of later modding my scx10 with "yota" axles cause they look so much more scale than stock axial's, I'll be following this build as I do all of them. I did my RC work before I watched the videos lol, O-ring busted in my As-3 servo waterproofed just like your old Honcho, so it went crazy , but dismantled, dried it out overnight with a fan, and Resurrected it, but looks like I'll be doing some "rock climbing" for a bit till I get a waterproof servo in. i agree. i have installed multiple led systems in my cars, both bought and home-made. and it is such a small thing that hightens the looks so much, everybody should get to know how to do it =)
