This is still one of my top 5 vids. I'm old and been flying about 36 yrs. now. I've seen a lot of vids. I even like the music.This video was made back when we were finding out we could do this kind of stuff with fixed wing aircraft. 3D was just getting discovered and explored, This guy was at the cutting edge and his skill would still hold up today as far as his control and lack of wobbles or save's. As a long time RC pilot' I say thanks for the vid. and sorry I took so long to say so.

Feel good to see this again after so many years. I remember watch this when I were a kid and waiting until the weekend to go to flight with my dad and always dreaming flying like this(I keep dreaming about it 😂) . But had to left away this hobby because i didn't have got time to fly and doesn't had a good place to do it. I still have my plane (Bossanova 3D) and it doesn't have take off since 7-8 years and it stays like the last time I flew it. But now with 18 years old I'm in the hobby again except that now I fly fpv racing drones but I have to fly my plane for the good old times

@applesweeter (the anserwers is about myself i don't know if the other ppl agree) (1) Usually those who fly model airplanes like to drive model cars etc. You have the feel that you have the power to your hands.(2).The fun is to do tricks that can crash your plane or to enjoy your friends. You archiving it with a lot of time, training and traing with the models.(3) Also you learn a lot about aeronautics so is and learning hobby. You spend time and money doing something you like. To make...

@rantmenow Choosing background music has as much to do with the beat and the pacing of the editing and the action as it does the lyrics. You can just look at a video and you'll hear what works in your head. Like the pulse of the wing going by in rolling harrier.

The song is not that bad... Whats bad about this video is that everyone who watches it thinks, "oh thats nice" or "i could do that" its harder than it looks people... Also his flight wasnt even that good, THIS is a good flight~ /watch?v=MlRM2ewfzmY

@TheArfdog I get your point... in RC language 3D is a plane with so much power it can basically climb vertical (power to weight ratio larger than 1) so basically they can hover in mid-air like in this video and do other unusual and interesting maneuvers :-)
@hacker867530914 жыл бұрын
@Anonymity0 .... not for sure .. but the tail of the plane does not move around alot like most pilots during a hover ... also the plane stays very stable thoughout the entire hover and torce rolls ... Im pretty sure thats what he has in the plane ...

@HeadShot360IN kinda harsh there, bud. I've seen one real (non-RC) airplane hover; it was a very powerful, very light Extra (an acrobatic plane), and it hovered for 4 seconds, that's it. Most other aircraft (p-51 mustang included) just don't have the thrust to weight ratio to hang in the air like that.

for anybody looking to get into rc it is a big sacrafice in this economy. if you wanna do shit like this get the Great Planes u Can Do .46 its a stunt plane but easy to do hovers in. its about 150 dollars but you need to buy an engine, servos, controller and that shit over there.

Check my comments below. Your radio control like he's using plugs into the unit and you actually fly with the remote. By far, the best way to get started and the best way to practice down the road until your ready for the real thing (like this cool cat)!

@likeaboss26 Its like 140-200$ for the plane. Then you have to buy a engine. 300-400+$. Then elctronics about 100$. This plane isnt cheap but you can get one smaller that can do more that this too fro about 100-150

Let us do some math. X= an instrument that is not computer generated y=a computer instument (not a real instrument For every Y there is, it subtracts from how many real instruments there are. There is probably 5 Y's and only 1 X (her voice, which lets say is not synthed! probably is) This song gets a -4 on the real music scale. rap is about a -7 or so to give you an idea. Tool, ludwig beethoven, dave mathews all in the 1-10 range

VERY good flying! But the MUSIC (if you can CALL is that) RUINS the entire video!! On the one hand you want to admire his flying, but then you realize that he thought this music was COOL, and that we'd rather hear this garbage disco crap than his engine. Shows poor judgement. Next time - FORGET the "music" - was just want to hear the ENGINE. But ... nice flying.

What's up with this video??? Most KZbin vid's I click on play on the browser... This one just shows a black rectangle, and a NEW icon to left of video title. I click that icon, and I have to DOWNLOAD the video to MY computer and play it on RealPlayer... Is this a result of some new option or tag they now allow on the upload process? Or is KZbin just having problems with some of its content??? If I have to download 2 watch, I'm less likely to try watching!!!

Cool, know a few guys at the airport that recently finished training to be an AMT. I do know that RC planes can prop stand like this only because they're so overpowered for their weight. But I still wonder how the control surfaces move the plane in such a configuration. When flying normally the controls are very similar to full size planes with the wing generating most of the lift, right? So with only the prop blast over the wing and the engine holding the plane up, what do the controls do?
@Ferdy133716 жыл бұрын
Show me a pilot who can get the airplane into that howering position he shows in this vid, cause he clearly cant since they only film the airplane IN the position and not that they just held it up in the air and started the engine ^^ Could be nice if he managed to get it into that position WHILE it was flying. He would never have to land it he could just go and grab it floating in the air ;D would be awesome

Great flying! But he makes the most common mistake ever, he walks while he is flying. For example when he was hovering and standing still, his hover was flawless, but then he hovered and started walking around it, and his hover was sloppy. But don't worry, I catch my self doing it to, it happens to the best of us.

Brilliant bit flying skill nice one, Oh to who was asking about licence no you dont need one but in UK you are ment to have public libabilty insurance and past little test to show/prove you can fly. you get insurance when you join model clubs they wont you let fly unless you have both these Anyways brilliant video

@Fabian050680 Cheers bro - I've never flow an rc plane, but I have no doubt of the skill required to perform these manouvers. Looking to get into it soon, will definatly get something more basic than this, and start with some simple take offs, turns and landings ;) Thanks again...is that you flying btw?
@shreader32714 жыл бұрын
3d flying is when you do a bunch of aerobatics that define gravity like the torque roll and hover. where the plane hovers in one spot and a torque roll is when it hovers and spins in one spot. what this guy is doing is 3d flying. 2d flying is just basically flying in circles with a occasional loop and roll here and there.
@0pacella015 жыл бұрын
Mass and physics is exactly right, Real lpanes dont weight...what...30 pounds? the torque of the engine on RC planes cmopared to the weight of the plane is not a representation of the mass of a real plane...therefore it would need a more powerful...however lighter engine to perform such stunds as vert hovering :)
@sononia15 жыл бұрын
it looks really nice and simple. . . which is what am looking for. . . but i have to questions. . . . 1: do i have to start it from the floor or can i also throw it. . . and .. . . i have a soccer field to start to learn :S. . . which is something like 100 meters for 45 meters. . . i can go up but will that be enough???
@famousjerpie15 жыл бұрын
actually this plane isn't defying the laws of aerodynamics, the same stunts are possible in a full size aircraft. The redbull air race extra 300 planes are capable of doing similar things. one more thing to explain the aerodynamics. While hovering, there propwash has to supply sufficient airflow over the wings for the control surfaces to be any use.
@martinhoy114 жыл бұрын
A Good Vid. But at the shows I go to, Your allowed to prop Hang so close to yourself, & not near cars. ?? So y make everyone on the web think that RC planes are easy to fly. Don't get me wrong, its a very good vid, & a very skilfull pilot. But the music hides things. Its good though

@sheldonholy My son was asking you questions, and he is only nine years old. I just did not like the way you responded to him. I know how much RC airplanes cost. I just didn't like they way you responded. He liked your airplane, and he wanted to let you know. abmm666666 .
@FALCO6412515 жыл бұрын
Very cool. How do the ailerons, rudder, and elevator respond when you're standing on the prop? I have a pretty good grasp of the flight dynamics when the wing is the source of an airplane's lift. But I'm clueless as to how everything behaves when all the lift is coming off the prop, that's crazy.
