VRC PRO - consequence free improvement tool for wheel time, driving skills, concentration and dealing with pressure. Thanks as always for the awesome content! There is so much setup content out there and not enough on driving, well done for trying to balance the ledger😁👍

Yesterday I discovered something weird about how my mind was working. Bear with me. After the club 2wd SCT championship ended the prior weekend, sunday was set for an endurance nitro buggy race, followed by an open class, and a rally class. Guys who were in the 2wd sct with me joind the open class and they couldn't keep up with me at all! I realized I was just driving for fun, not making any major mistake besides running a bit too wide every now and then and I ended up lapping both guys who were giving me a hard time in the championship. Somehow the lack of pressure I put myself on allowed me to just be in the moment and flow with it instead of focusing on every possible aspect of the race.

Good vid, sound advice (I think, I don't race). I think Jackie Stewart said to drive smoothly, sometimes fast looks slow.

Love your content, as I'm still in my first year, I gave up ebuggy even tho I was "faster" I took up nitro! And every time I get beaten bad race "clutch flame outs" No matter what, I find the issue and go back to the track once resolved. I come home make one change and test. I do two tanks as I need driving time. Clean and either keep setting or change back. I think consistency is the key I struggle with. Consistency in shocks, driving, and links all have to have that fine eye. Now, to put these practices to use!

Everyone experiences their “wall” in a different way. For me it’s always been overdriving. One thing I’ve always struggled with is the % analogy. To be it’s a hard to quantify a number like that in relation to driving a rc car since you technically have no “feeling”. One thing I’ve been trying to help others with this same problem is reminding them to (Hit their marks) on track slowing down more to hit the apex, not using too much throttle if you don’t need too. Things like that. Also having confidence in your cars setup can help a lot more than people realize. Honestly repetition, and muscle memory are going to be your best friend. So drive as often as you can, and try to time your runs. I really liked your rocket league analogy. Car control in the air like you mentioned is really hard to get down. Myself, and probably the pro’s learned pitching and whipping by just doing it over and over again. Eventually you understand how it works without being taught it, but it takes a LONG time to build the muscle memory. Sorry this comment is so long but I thought my perspective as a driver who has been climbing the second layer of the wall for a while on the way to the pro level would help make it all make more sense lol.

Brother this video makes total sense to me. I’ve recently posted on a Facebook race page that I feel like my program is at a stand still and was looking for advice. Been racing carpet for just over a year and feel like I’m not getting any faster 🤷🏻 This I feel makes sense cause it seems like your explanation is about me completely! Thank you for this cause it was seriously in my mind to give up 🥺 this video has given me hope that this in not only my problem and I can beat this. Thank you for this. Now I feel great about tomorrows race at rcone in Macomb Michigan. I’ve got a plan 😉 Thanks again brother 👌

Thanks for the vid! Your advice gives me a lot of confidence in my future improvement. The only reason I practice pretty conservatively is I hate going all the way down from the stand to the track to flip my car back over lol

love the vids man. I'm new to the hobby of RC and am wanting to get into the track/racing side of it. I know this is nearly impossible but what would you say is a good starter vehicle for a newbie on a budget? Not much of a used market near me for racing builds, mostly just bashers.

Hmm. I'd say for tenth scale a TLR 22 roller would work well for 10th scale and the TLR tuned Typhon would work for 8th scale if you're looking to buy new. After that it's a question of electronics
