Bugger to see the easy option didn't work. If it's possible to get an RTL working without having to purchase the upgraded FC that would be super. Please continue to investigate. :)

did you add another channel on your radio wiring for the return to home switch? If so where do you wire it into on the power distribution board? I have tried with a 250r cc3d flight controller but mine isnt working either. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated regards Jon

+Painless360 managed 2 get it working. had the ribbon cable upside down 😕 haven't tried out the gps and RTH yet but it's no worse than b4. the flight controller is not the cc3d one like i suspected but woz only £27 from hobbyking. will try and test it properly over nxt couple of days and will keep u posted thnx for al the info, I found it very helpful

I would get a standard GPS unit. See the CC3D series for how we do it..

I have the 250 advanced ana cannot seem to get my flight modes to work right can you do a video on how to set that up as well as change the pid setting. The flight is kind of choppy on the high speed turns

I would reccomend the Multiwii series on the channel as we cover all the basics of Multiwii there..

What if you replaced the flight controller with the advance's? The advance's flight controller has a barometer and the upgraded firmware (obviously). Could you just plug the GPS into it and it would work? Would you have to do something with multiwii or any soldering?

I gave it away. You need to solder a barometer to the FC and update the software on it too. I believe you can also replace it using one of the flight controllers from the Advanced version of this model.. best of luck

Friend, the GPS of the advance of the walkera, it does not work correctly, it takes satellites (13), however it does not take posion hold, when it is in waiting it begins to make small and growing cicu. This may fail. How is it not magnetized or defective?

+Juan Carlos oanelli not sure as I've not had this model for a while. If the model toilet-bowls in GPS hold then it's usually the compass that's the problem. Best of luck

+Matt Smith depends on how you fly and how big the battery is. You want the cells to be about 3.7v each at the end of a flight. Fly for a while, land and disconnect the pack and check the voltage. When you get down to that amount you know how long the pack will last and can set a timer on your radio. Best of luck

+Didzi Sturis I purchased the basic because I believed it was "modular" and I could upgrade it to the most advanced model. Sadly, it is not. However, I have ordered my barometer chip and I hope to try firmware update next week. I'll probably upload a video when I see it work or not work.

The gps version has other rx!!!! Not rx 710, but rx 717 Will output gps to tx.

are you saying that on top of me modifying the standard runner DIY version, by adding barometer, gps chip, firmware updating, and all that i then need to get the 717 receiver to be able to use the controller/transmitter to control the gps features? can you maybe post a video or do a little write up about that or maybe PM me with more details so i can do the write up and add it to the online forums for other users that are interested in this? please and thank you for any response that helps - cheers Chris
