Most excellent! Not everyones a fan of this truck but I really enjoy mine. After adding cooling fans and sway bars, its an absolute blast! Very very robust too. I have tried to break mine and only thing I ever broke was a pinion but that was my fault, didnt let the Loctite cure LOL

Best thing about the Mojave 4s, barely any catching air under the shell like most other SCTs. I'm glad I couldn't afford one of these Slash things when they were released to be honest. Good job on the video as always though😊

I just got to drive my buddys maxx slash and its really impressive. Its fast and handles really good. He did add a sway bar kit to it so that might help it out. Im going to swap the shock oil out for him and test it out. If it gets any better it will be a very impressive truck

I saw one running at Branford Hobbies last Friday after work. They tried it on 6S and 4S. I thought it was pretty cool. As You’d stated, it did better bashing than on the truck.

The best upgrade iv done to my Maxx was change the springs to a progressive spring rate. I bet it would do wonders on the maxx slash

I got one of the first release ones from my store I work at. Been letting customers drive it and spark that fire in them. My real only complaints and I voiced them to my rep was 2 things One the motor mount. Mine keeps shifting and the pinion grinds the case. I assume the aluminum plate will fix that but as an all around beat up truck shouldn’t need adjustment after every crash. 2 was the inner cage. There is a spot in the rear where the upper top cage could connect to the lower rear cage. It’s a crush point. Few flips and bing bong cracked crushed body. I’m going to see about making something to fit to help with the forces. Bonus grip I didn’t mention to him is the servo. Not so much the power cause it does the job more the mount. Mine is completely broke. So servo works but the tabs are gone. I shouldn’t have to upgrade to something crazy and I should t have to have my customers replace a $100 servo when just the case is broke. Need to see if I can get them to just offer that. Great video!! My favorite color combos! I wanna do blue lower arms and green uppers. And then the rest just like that.

This truck is quite possibly the best I've seen yet from Traxxas. And I'm favouring Traxxas more and more nowadays. I've been quite anti Traxxas in the past but they have made a lot of improvements in the last year and as for Arma I get how some people love Arma but they are so dated and quite can I say ugly. No licenced body shells from Arma and I've heard also that Horizon hobbies can be difficult to deal with in regards to warranty claims. Some people hate Traxxas but Horizon have been bad to deal with also and that is at home in America. Not to mention trying to contact Horizon from overseas as I'm in Australia. Sure Horizon have a 24 months limited warranty but then they are really not nice to deal with. I'm giving Traxxas another chance and I know all the stories about Traxxas litigation and patents but they do have my vote this time around. Great video Greg at RC driver👍👍💪

I have an x-maxx an xrt and a red cat vigilante I will tell you what if you have any of these vehicles you definitely want the max / it's a whole different animal and for the price I think it's great you won't know what I'm talking about unless you put that remote in your hand I'm telling you this truck is fast as hell super durable takes Corners like nothing this is a hell of a competitor truck for Circle track my opinion it blew the doors off my ex Max it blew the doors off my xrt it blew the doors off my red cat there ain't much more to say after all that LOL highly recommended Traxxas kicked ass on this one Bravo

Even heavier oil? To me it looks as if the suspension is too stiff or has not enough travel. Just keep an eye on the body when the truck isn‘t in the air. It shakes around a lot.

Tbh I'm not really a fan of the Maxx slash, I find it quite unusual that it is supplied with 6mm nuts for the wheels. I'm glad I got the arrma mojave 4s, I find it much better value for money. Great video 😊

Nice upgrades. But, most of the aluminum parts are just for show. For deep pockets dudes for sure, lol. I like the flexibility of good quality plastics. My opinion of course, not against hopups...Thank you for the demonstration.

The break points like those hardened susp shock pieces could benefit from aluminum for a bigger heavier 6s truck like this. I was shocked how much our first 6s truck weighed. The rest of the aluminum components are bling I agree. Hardened aluminum steering knuckles and those higher quality axles are of interest to me. We've been looking at this truck for awhile. Just sold one of our other trucks so we can trade up. Hope you guys are enjoying your summer!

I was a Traxxas man for years, still am to a point. Ive had many but had to downsize to a few cars. Maxx Slash, Maxx V2, TRX4 Sport Hightrail. Then my 4s Mojave and 4s Kraton for the Arrma side. I have no need for more cars. It's Traxxas' business practices that get me. They are patent bullies. The mud boss gave them dose of their own medicine. I have more traxxas only because I have a Traxxas exclusive hobby shop down the road. So parts support is crazy good. The Kraton beats the maxx and the Mojave 4s is a better overall SCT then the Maxx slash. Just the way it is.

Our local track has a new 1/8 SCT class which includes the Maxx Slash (4S) and the Mojave 4S. This is where the Maxx Slash is being classified as: a Mojave 4S competitor. The Maxx Slash isn't even in the same class as the over-achieving Mojave 6S, which is cheaper than the Maxx Slash.

That was an awesome video man! love my max/I turned to suspension all the way down and handles beautiful. The only bad thing I had four battery packer and blew up front motor bearing. I think I haven’t taken apart yet. I’m pissed.

Would really like to see Traxxas release a 2WD version of the Maxx Slash. Love the size but for general bashing I prefer the less complex 2WD chassis. Lot less to maintain and would cost way less to buy.

UNFORGIVING - I remember all the things Traxxas has done to the RC community. I will not buy this at all. However, you did a great job in this video. Excellent mods and it definitely drove better than its initial release. But it’s too late. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Plus Traxxas treats our American Veterans badly. Forgot which KZbinr that was. I give you credit RC Driver, you really put in the work on this rig. Despite that, I’d always go with a 4S Mojave. Next vid Arrma Mojave 4S with custom mods?

I like Traxxas in general. But those shock spacer things just scream "cost cutting". Like they didn't want to use longer shock shafts/bodies.

it’s an adjustment option without changing shocks to to lower the truck for better handling stability options bud. the thing it though the clearance is less so it’s in a race mode at that point, so it shouldn’t be jumped as high. but then again i’m not the guy that jumps any of my rc higher than 5 or 6 feet anyways as in scale height that’s like 15 feet or more ( what vehicle likes that constantly even desert prerunners break if that’s jumped wrong hahahah my 2 cents I prefer to not break parts lol I like to drive them on my track instead i’m definitely not the basher guy ……

Tire glue is horrible I have had mine separate very easily it does not look like it was glued. It is disappointing they sent this out with such a junk suspension set up especially at 700 you shouldn't have to do more than maybe shock oil change. I did this to mine early on with the suspension blocks, servo and servo saver totally woke this rc up and made it fun I also agree thicker shock oil and now its doing great.

Can anyone suggest an HD shock set for the regular Maxx V2 ? Even with stiffer springs and oil it chassis slaps too much. Typical Traxxas design.

I don't do huge jumps with mine, but I put Sledge rear shock bodies and springs with the stock shafts on the rear, and it seems to ride better. This gives more down travel like the risers on the Maxx Slash. I only use the Sledge shock bodies and springs, using the longer shafts too gives too much travel and causes the driveshafts to bind.

Great video. The issue I have as a new RC head is...NONE of these RC channels give a 101 tutorial on what all the terms mean, what battery terms mean etc. You all seam to be comparing ____ sizes to your channel competitors by talking in terms that make you all seem smart about the hobby, but none of you, so far, are willing to give the information in a format that a "new to the hobby" person can understand. Might explain the lack of growth on the channels, you only cater to those that already know what you are talking about.

$700 for all plastic and bad electronics! For $700 you’d think it would at least have a metal geared servo or metal hubs and hex’s! 8mm wheel nuts on a 6s truck? I’ve never heard of anything like that! But they at least make upgrades to fix its horrible handling and rolling issues. You just have to sink another $200-$300 in it. Or buy a 4s or 6s Mojave and save some money for a whole other RC truck!

I’ve always been conflicted when it comes to that truck, not only due to its outrageous price, but also because I think it might very well be the best looking SC truck on the market (which is my opinion, obviously). With that said, I also think it might be the worst performing SC truck on the market (out of the box). Expensive, but good looking with below average performance. Eh, that’s a pass for me.

This car is over built stock so these alluminum upgrades just add weight. The MAXX official stamp means besudes fir ectronics in most cases the truck stock needs nothing.😂 turning a 700$ car inti a 1k$ plus is crazy. The profit margins are ridiculously high. Better hope i dint be one a millionaire ill start a business where ill have my own tyoe of rc that covers the specktrum of different vehicle classes and get input from all the top rc enthusiasts. Win awards and take 1st place spot for best beginner friendly rc to the top pro title. Syart with a chassie and then a afyer market parts package. So electronics never under perform. Even if buyer decides to get out if the sport the secondary market will have no problum reselling my brand rc cars and trucks.
