As a great mod, I'd continue the rear cage over the cab then angled to front of bonnet then down to the front bumper and a brace across the windscreen. Great truck, nice video 😎👍

I know this vid is a few months old, so I have no idea what's been done to the truck since. That said, I immediately loved the open cab. Aside from the awesome look, it will allow extending the roll bar into the cabin for a full cage. This will likely address the flex between the body halves when picking up by the roll bar. Plus, full cage = additional scale realism opportunities.

LOVE the Cabrio treatment!! 👌👍👍 The Interior should be seen if it's got a good one... I'm NOT one of the Cool Kids, so I'm getting one NOW. 😜 Never cared if I had the latest. Still baffles me that Axial didn't use the LCG Transmission more. After proper Shimming, it's a far better option than the old 3 Gear! Looking forward to joining the party - late!! 😉 Please stay SAFE! 😷 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

I sorta regret returning my UMG10 kit(didn’t think I would ever get around to building it), however, now that I finally got my former RTR 10.2 Deadbolt chassis adjusted for my Dingo body, I might just buy a UMG10 body kit, since the wheelbase will already be set. Also, I think I’ll prefer having the AX10 transmission. 👍🏼 Disregard that... I just looked at how the UMG10 body is being sold in separate parts, adding up to over $100! They really want you to pony up and buy the whole kit. I’ll let that boat sail on, I guess.

how did you paint the interior by hand and masking up or airbrush and masking up? as its came up real neat , great work on the chop top too, and was the cutting of the round lights for the new grill real hard or just get the template right and take it slow approach? great video love the vehicle as i just bought myself one as was on special $400 Aud so couldn't pass it up i have both the 406 and 425 Tamiya Unimog's both with Licensed bodies and locked diffs they are awesome (406) the other is still in its box(425),but and believe me that can crawl and trail for not being a crawler ive had it go over and drive on some pretty challenging drives and was quite surprised , thanks again for a great video bud. cheers from Australia.

Find a forum on the scx10 2 transmission. I had to rebuild mine in my xj and used a shim, but can't remember where now. I think if one of the shafts is backwards it could grind the gears. Mine has been running smooth since the re build.

So, I am even later to the game. I have always wanted the UNI body. I have the SCX10III on order. Do you think with shorter rear links and rear shaft this body will fit?
@rcdriver4 жыл бұрын
Just tried to put the Unimog body on my III. Looks like the front will line up well and the front body mounts “look” like a direct fit. The rear will need to be shortened up by adjusting the chassis and using the optional shorter links.

@koolaidwaterfountainsforth42365 жыл бұрын
You can be up and running for around 400-450 bucks really easily. If you already have some battery packs and a charger that's a realistic price range to have a solid setup. I went hobbywing 1080 esc and a Holmes's hobbies trailmaster 540 can motor. For a little over 60 bucks its a stellar little esc/motor combo. Thats the combo i threw into my umg10.
@BlueDually4x45 жыл бұрын
You can get a basic Spektrum transmitter for about $50 the receiver is about $15 . The hobbywing 1080 is an awesome speed control for $40-45 bucks and a Tekin heavy duty 35 turn motor is about the same range. A Spektrum servo runs about $35. I have a 4 channel Spektrum radio and receiver in two of my trucks but run the 1080 ESC and the 35T Tekin motor. I also went the cheaper route and run nickle metal batteries instead of LiPos. I get plenty of run time with Venom 3000 miliamp batteries, I found a pair of them for $50 on Amazon. Chargers run a wide range from $30 up over $200.
