and here we are, almsot 30 years later, and managers are basicly playing the german tactic that won e.g. Dortmund the CL in 97 or germany the euros in 96. We called it "Libero" then, and it led to Sammer winning the Ballon dór, but in the end, this is exactly what made Beckenbauer and Sammer, tho these two were obviously generational talents with more offensive impact than a pivot, they almost played it like a box-to-box CB. But i love it non the less :)

Cool video. I'll give you silly mnemonics to help you pronounce the German names you struggled with. 1. Remember the band Hurts? Their hit was called "Wonderful Life". Now imagine someone was owning that band but giving it away for money. That guy would be the Hurts-Seller. Hürzeler. Ouch. But I'll bet you'll remember it. 2. One of Frodo's mates was Pippin, right? Now if Pippin owned a book, that book would be Pippin's read. = Pipinsried. German words seem long and scary for other cultures, but really we're mostly just combining short words, it''s just that we stick them together without spaces or hyphens. The place where monks used to live by a shiny creek would become Monksshinycreek. I picked that weird example because that is what Mönchengladbach (Mönchen-glad-bach) actually means. Cheers!
