Honestly I feel like the beta map felt and looked more like the Wild West would have rather had that the world of red dead feels to small so to the fact the towns are so close together
@vermas46543 жыл бұрын
This always gives me a feeling of slight disappointment, especially Guarma. It feels wrong that massive sections of the map are unused and that Guarma is so small.
@mv-xr7lt3 жыл бұрын
Guarma is such a strange detour R* took during development i wonder why? It feels almost like a completely different game.
@sltrskid Жыл бұрын
my guess is that guarma was suppposed to be rdr2's mexico but sometime during development they decided it wasn't worth it, (or something along those lines), and made it a cool little segment instead of a full-length chapter. this is what i figured happened with mexico, too. maybe they planned on having john visit mexico in the epilogue but scrapped it because it didn't make sense, or maybe they just wanted a really detailed out of bounds. R* works in mysterious ways
@I_Am_Gassy3 жыл бұрын
Guarma not being instanced seems like a bit of a leap. That branching river very well could've been used for a short travelling cinematic, or even have just been present to suggest how a boat would get there, making the world feel more real and consistent. Regardless, great vid!

Excellent detective work! 👍 While we will more than likely never get a proper DLC for story mode, this kind of stuff keeps my excitement for this game alive
@FreeAimDog3 жыл бұрын
single player dlc? no, but knowing rockstar most likely it will be a very late online update for red dead online. the APC was in beta of gta v but then they took and added it later in online mode and same with the hydra jet and hunter helicopter all those were in tv ads and game trailers but not in the final game until rockstar decided to add them. do i expect full guarma? no probably a half baked one like gta online but it still might be something worth doing.
@ericpalacios9203 жыл бұрын
This is amazing! Great work as always on the beta hunting 👍 Edit: 5:16 I think that the reason they removed this opening is because the devs realized it wouldn't make sense for all of New Austin to be hundreds of feet below sea level.

Just a side-thing I noticed. Little Creek, Big Valley looks very similar to the valley in one of the chapters of the Movie „The Ballad of Buster Scruggs“ which by itself is an adaptation of the short story „All Gold Canyon“ by Jack London.The resemblance is very striking.

Something I think you missed with the rivervalley.jpg is that the art is not from the west end of the valley looking east, but rather across the Dakota River looking west (near Downes Ranch I guess). In the foreground (just follow the Little Creek River up a little bit in the drawing) you can see a railway bridge and train, so this is somewhere south of Cumberland Falls, across the way from Wallace Station, and north of Painted Sky in the final map. Aside from the mountains being closer together, it appears that the river and the railroad were going to be lower in elevation, and the Dakota River would be wider with a fairly large island in it.

Looking at beta maps and concept arts makes me wish we had honestly gotten that version of the game more than the one we got.
