Raafi Rivero Yeah, the craftsmanship was terrific! Kinefinity couldn’t have picked a finer filmmaker to demonstrate the proper capabilities of the Mavo LF (and the Terra 4K) in an actual creative environment, rather than just showing off the camera’s incredible specs.

Really beautiful work! How did you like working with the Mavo prime lenses? And did you use any diffusion filters (pro mist, soft fx, etc.) ? I'm looking forward to get a set. All advices are welcome :) thanks
@RaafiRivero Жыл бұрын
Thanks! They're great lenses for the price, in my opinion. They are super sharp and so yes it's nice to add pro mist, soft-fx etc. I haven't owned a set of primes before, but I did a good amount of research beforehand. Here's an extremely detailed article I wrote about the lenses prior to even shooting on them: kinecommunity.com/a-primer-kinefinity-mavo-lenses/
@ScottDavey4 жыл бұрын
Hey, Raafi Great film you deserve more likes and views! What filters on the lenses? as I have the Nitecore version of Mavo primes and want to get some, so any help would be appreciated .
@RaafiRivero4 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott, thanks for writing and the kind words. We didn’t use many filters besides ND on the exteriors. We did use Schneider SoftFX filters during the scene with the woman in that tan field of tall grass. I think we alternated between 1/8 and 1/4 strength. I’m a big fan of those lenses and am sure the Nitecore versions are great, too.

@@RaafiRivero The shot before he gets hit by the bus? That's good news because that shot has a little focus breathing which is exactly what I was going to ask you, how do these lenses handle breathing? They seem to be excellent in all other areas.

really great work!! I'm sure you also want to hear some feedback. If not. alright, don't the read it then. But i find the audio very flat and the sound effect not very impactfull. I assume you do know about the term: audio makes 60% or 80% of the film. (the percentage is always different depending on the person who's saying it). But that term also works for your film. I know it's a lot of work to fix audio but its worth the time. It will make this film soooo much better. Because everything else about is already great ;)
@RaafiRivero5 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry you feel that way and respectfully disagree. I did a ton of work on the sound design and mixing. There are literally hundreds of sound effects in the cut. More than 40 tracks in the soldier scene alone. However, I mixed the audio average to -12db in the cinema style rather than to 0db like most disposable videos on the web. That way there’s more dynamic range to spare for the loudest parts of the film and they stand out more. I even considered doing a “KZbin mix” adding compression to increase the overall loudness but it sounded harsh to my ears and flattened the many subtleties. Play it on some good speakers at an adequate volume and you’ll hear them, especially all the stuff happening in the lower register.
@joepvanuden39135 жыл бұрын
@@RaafiRivero I listened it on some krk speakers om a good volume. May I know how you recorded the audio? Like: what microphones, where did you place them, at what volume etc.
