Hey man, just wanted to say thanks. Just did my first speed run (this was the third run ever, brand new to the game. Did an easy jill with no guide, then a knife only Chris with platinum guide) and I got 2:26 time! I was sweatin the whole time cause I had NO clue what my time was until that final screen haha. Followed your guide while typing checkpoint notes into a word doc, then color coded items, save spots, sections, etc. Then I printed those notes and used them for the run. 12 pages long haha (lots of spacing. Short notes each line tho) Anyways thanks bro. You saved me a lot of headache.

Years later, if anyone is following this advice just for the weapon unlocks, you can avoid the murder hall way after the crimson head spawns. It's only a minute slower, and it does have a zombie, but if you just go back through the stairs with the two herbs at the bottom, it's much safer. Like, avoid resets from dying, easier. Well worth the time loss of you're not going for a PB.

I almost had the infinite rocket launcher first try. I got the infinite samurai edge in 3 hours and 56 minutes. So with the samurai edge it will help me get the RL.

Question though I’m familiarizing myself with the game currently and just doing playthrough’s of the harder difficulties are you playing this on an easier mode? Because my Jill hard run through didn’t have grenades in the gardening shack after coming back with the Helmet Key

I noticed you're using simplified Chinese as your language. Do you know if there is a difference in scroll speed between traditional and simplified? Is simplified the fastest language to use?

I was wondering why I was on two hours something I was on original control and got chomped a lot picked up health items a lot I actually use the regular grenades against the crimson heads and save all my incendiary for plant 42
