Re-Plastering BAD Plasterwork | WORST Plastering I’ve Come Across

Ryan Clarke Plastering

Жыл бұрын

This video shows us going over bad plastering that was done by a ‘plasterer’ previous.
First we prepped the ceiling and walls with bostik plasterers stabiliser. Then we applied multi finish. (This was some of the worst plastering I have ever come across. The guy worked on the farm and claimed he had plastering qualifications!). Never the less we sorted it out and now looks how it should have first time round.
If this video was helpful or entertaining a subscribe would mean a lot to me. It gives me an indication that I am building an audience and that I am creating enjoyable content and also encourages me to make more videos.
Thanks
Keith & Ryan

Can I ask a question did you green grit this to stop the suction ? Because plastering over new plaster is a fucking headache as I found out yesterday it pulled in like a mothers and was chasing my tail for 2 hours .. roll on a few years when I know this stuff already . Is this the best option when going over new plaster like if your doing what your doing trying to rectify some other divs work ?
@Ryan_Clarke_Plastering
@Ryan_Clarke_Plastering 11 ай бұрын
Yes mate exactly that. Was to prevent suction. I’m not saying this is howwww to do it but it’s how we done it. We applied a coat of pva first then we greened over that just to fully maximise our chances of it not completely going on us. Like you said tho this still went off fast on us but the best we could do

I did a job last week going over old render and bare grey plaster and multi finish patches, gave it one coat of sbr, and plastered it the next day, there was literally no suction, the hit took just over 4 hours and that was second coating with the same mix (I do this in smaller areas). That green grit is good, I just hate applying it and it’s a pain to go over sometimes. Ryan’s got the rolling of it down to a fine art though!

What a easy job how did it get done so badly and pva would be so much better easier than Thistle bondit and there’s a much better at hardly any cost to that expensive green that has been known to come away from plaster surfaces especially with a glossy paint surface as green wasn’t invented till reslently but I’ve been plastering over 45 years

@@Ryan_Clarke_Plastering that’s a idea I’ve not considered well done chap you’re still got age on your side Ryan. I would consider green if bonding was required a old fashioned way is waterie cement and sand and if ur more comfortable with some pva add put on with a roller or brush very good if reskim over plaster will shiny painted surface and left to dry a day and will be just like sandpaper but you gain section we’re green you don’t get that control and your get more sets in and cover more meters try a patch under stairwell first test will help you out one day mate once you tried it you save money to best regards Ryan 🤞👍
