But that's literally the opposite of the point within the context od the song AND in the theological context. Corey's lyrics for that song specifically are intended to hold a mirror up to each of us and recognize that every mortal/man is a combination of both good and evil, whether we want to admit it or not. It akso contemplates the way that the influence of others can steer us towards either direction, but tends towards the "evil" end of the spectrum if you don't have the willingness and desire to become Good. It's the old saying: "The only thing needed for Evil to succeed is that Good men do nothing."

Both were extremely shocking and controversial when they debuted. Parents were protesting outside KISS shows in the 70's for supposed satanic worship. Dee from TS testified before a congressional hearing trying to stop the PMRC from putting warning labels on their music because they were considered shocking and vulgar because of their trans look. Christians are hilarious.

An old buddy went to see GWAR live and wore a plain white T-shirt at the show to prove a point. He has a "before" photo where the shirt is totally clean. Outside the show two hours later, there's an "after" picture. His shirt, face and jeans were *dripping* black, green and red. Up until the last time I spoke to the man, the color has never come out no matter how much he washed the thing. *That is GWAR.*

Ironically, Alice Cooper got sober in the late 70's and became a devout Christian and avid golfer. Even teaches Sunday school and does a lot of volunteer work. His onstage persona is nothing like him in real life. He says it's just a character for him. From all accounts, he is one of the nicest celebrities around.

Class if '95 here, and we definitely had the best music. First concert was the Ramones and White Zombie my second wasWide Spread Panic and Phish. Two ends of the spectrum but the music was amazing. The best rap and hip hop. I still throw on some Cypress Hill and jam out. And the festivals!!! Summer festivals and road trips. No cell phones, you lived in the moment.

To correct the host. It was the evangelicals who were protesting against the music, but the fallacy is that it was spearheaded by Conservatives. Tipper Gore, the wife of the Democratic VP Al Gore was the force behind the movement and the government hearings about the addition of labeling music with Parental Advisory stickers. Dee Snyder was one of several artists from all genres who appeared at the hearings to fight against the labels which were viewed as being anti artistic freedom.

It was Dee, Frank Zappa and John Denver. Zappa and Denver showed up in suit and tie, Dee came dressed in Jeans, a t-shirt and a jean vest. You could see the panel looking at each other like "This is going to be easy". Then Dee annihilated them with his words, and how well spoken he was.

Props for the Screaming Jay Hawkins mention! I was hoping they would show that tv show appearance he made. I think it was from the 60's, but it was unlike anything else on tv at the time. It may have been the Ed Sullivan Show.
