For me it’s not just my body. I’m quite skinny. I’m 5’6, 28yo, and roughly 116 pounds. I naturally struggle to keep weight on. Always have but like that one girl said your skin can look nice and taunt when you’re positioned one way and then have love handles when you move another way and that perfectly describes my body. However I also struggle with doing things that I want to do because I’m afraid of what someone might think or how they’ll perceive me. For example I knew I wanted long hair since I was four but didn’t allow myself to start growing it out until I was 23. I’m slowly starting to work on that and get better and do the things that I never let myself do. A lot of the reason why I struggle with that is society says a man has to be this way and a woman has to be that way. Also all the struggles with being gay and the fact that 30 is literally right around the corner and I’m just now barely starting to be me and live my life my way for once. Also I have to stop comparing myself to others and remind myself that just because I didn’t do things at the typical age that most do that doesn’t mean I’m a failure. It just means everyone goes down a different path. Each and every day I learn to love myself more and become more and more confident.

I have a friend who was fatshamed, he got anorexia and now he is bodybuilding..He will compete in a month (he started at the gym 2~3 years ago) and I'm so proud of him that he finally is happy doing something he loves. Some other friends told me, "he is too big now" or "he looks desproporcionated".. but I'm proud of him. Is his body and he is happy 😊 My boyfriend is like you, he eats but he is very skinny...but I know there are days he doesn't eat and I worry for him ☹ Don't worry, you'll find someone who loves you for who you are 😊

Every single woman who was portrayed in this video is beautiful. Every single one. Grandma Ok asked Zoey if the way a certain woman was working out is the same way she worked out, though. Zoey said, something along the lines of "Yeah, kind of." First of all, Zoey, I don't care how much weight you gain or lose, because it's none of my business. Even if I were your close friend, it would be none of my business. I'm not bringing this up to criticize your grandmother, absolutely not. She asked an honest question. I've seen your diet videos, your videos when you had shorter hair, and I really loved your (eat this food for a week) videos. From what I've seen, you've been honest and kind with yourself, which is what these "body positivity" tik toks are about. But also, I think it's important to realize that not everyone has access to healthy food, or a gym, or especially personal training. It can be done, yes, through hard work and effort, but I wanna be able to speak for a lowest class minority in an inept and ignorant "first world country." i used to be overweight. for me, it was my dad who gave me the shock of my life when he told me that i was a fatso and had to lose weight to do anything with my life. i mean, koreans are generally blunt about these kinds of things, and i know my dad teased me about my weight to get me to diet more and exercise for my own health. but it still really hurt my feelings. When i nearly reached the "ideal body weight" for my age and height, i was just glad that it meant an end to all the teasing, but nope. my dad never lets me forget that i used to be overweight, and brings it up all the time. like we'd be eating dinner at the table, and out of nowhere he'd say things like "oh you used to be so heavy that whenever you moved the floor shook like a minor earthquake" or "keep a close eye on your weight." like please, just move on already! i can't stand it anymore! it's like all he cares about me is my appearance! it's starting to feel like he doesn't know anything about me, so he keeps bringing up my weight in order to have something to talk about.

Maybe one day I'll be one of those people daring to show off my body in a bikini or bathing suit, or even shorts for that matter... This is far more motivating than anyone trying to 'inspire change' in you. It usually only has the opposite effect.

This video really helped me. I had an ED a few years ago and I still consider myself to be in recovery (as I still only eat once a day). It has been really hard for me to adjust and begin loving my body as I gain weight. I see myself as huge and my boyfriend always tells me I’m so small. There’s a lot that goes into body dysmorphia and I wish I could get rid of my internalized fat phobia. Food is good for you and all healthy bodies are good bodies. I hope I fully recover one day.

im glad youre in recovery! you got this! i just started a week ago not counting calories and im super happy, i never weighed myself during my ed so i feel like the weigth gain might be easier as i dont know how much im putting on.
