Gordon Ramsey is passionate about his work. To those who should know better, he gives only his wrath. To those who don't, who are only beginning on the path, he makes sure they become as passionate as well. EVERYONE deserves the chance to learn from their mistakes as a beginner and become the best cook they can be. But on Hell's Kitchen, you are claiming you are good enough to not only work under one of Gordon's kitchens but to run it. He expects you to be as perfect as he takes himself to task to become. After all, you are signing up to be his right hand at that restaurant. Why would Gordon send anything less than absolute perfection?

The main reason he's so aggressive with adults chefs is because: They should know better. They're not only adults but have been cooking professionally for a living. There is no reason for them to be messing up as badly as they do. With kids, he's an angel. He knows these kids are still learning and yelling at them would accomplish nothing except maybe ruining their love of cooking for the rest of their lives.

@Qunt Face I mean think of it like this, imagine you got professional chefs that are supposed to know how to cook and they kept on messing up every time, wasting your food by burning it or leaving it raw which you lose money. It’s a 5 star restaurant so the expectations are very high, if the customer isn’t pleased it will come back and they would have to make another one if the food is too fucked up. I understand why Gordon would be pissed off.

That part was really amazing, instead of giving her special treatments for her disability or looks down on her for it, he treats her fair and equal just like the other contestants competing with her. Also loved the way he described her pie in a way she would understand how good it turned out to be, he was trying to give her confidence and let her know that her disability didn't stop her even though she was unsure of it. He's the type that would not overpraise someone, but would also encourage and push those who are talented AND wants to learn, but if someone is not treating cooking seriously, with or without talent he'll put them in places where they should be and wouldn't hold back criticisms.

7:50 It's absolutely the other way around. Gordon Ramsay is one of the most wholesome, understanding, genuine people I have ever seen, he just gets really worked up when it comes to arrogant people who claim they can cook but can't.

My spirit animal lol I feel like one of the main reasons he’s so angry throughout Hell’s Kitchen is these chiefs are meant to be top chiefs in their own restaurant but fail to do so many basic stuff that it gets on his nerves it’s not like they’re new or learning

Lol when I first heard about Gordon, I didn’t like him. Felt like he was way too angry for no reason. The more I watched, the more I realized that these people (chefs) would have handed customers undercooked, raw, incorrect meals had he not have been as harsh/aggressive.

As somebody more in sports I just imagine a forward who's not putting on pressure while getting paid 100k/week after I told him to do so. Yes, I would be fucking yelling. You're a professional you say? You're getting treated like one. Martinzed got on at the 45th minute and was off again in the 60th a few weeks ago at Inter, he was pissed but fuck him, he was not trying. Actions have consequences.

You guys should totally do Masterchef he's a different person on there, but on Hell's Kitchen some people on there messed up pretty badly. (in stupid or embarrassing ways) so I can see why he be angry sometimes. ESPECIALLY if I can tell from the screen that something is undercooked/cold and then serve it anyway. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Christine, the girl crying at the end, is blind, and cooked everything on the show by taste, sound, and smell. And ALL her dishes turned out BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely stunning, near replicas of what Chef Ramsey himself made when he was teaching the contestants before letting them make the dish themselves. Her plating skills were magnificent. But her blindness is what made her a bit self-conscious and doubt herself, despite all the praise she was getting. It is also why he was describing the visuals to her in minute details, and letting her hear the crispiness of the crust. She went on to win the whole show - it was a heartwarming season.

I live in the most densely south Korean populated area in Europe, a small town in England called New Malden. I just want to say I love Korean people and their culture, very clean, tidy, quiet and never cause any trouble. I have tried to learn some basic Korean to be polite when I go into the food shops, and they always seem delighted when I wish them a happy Korean new year.

7:51 that’s exactly right. He’s what he needs to be when he needs to be. Some people are mentioning how good he is with kids, but it’s not at all related to age. It’s about experience. With shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, he’s dealing with people who have already been introduced to a professional culinary setting. When you have “chefs” making stupid mistakes like cooking in burnt pans, serving raw food (HK) or being unsanitary, using rotten ingredients (KN), you’d get angry. Especially since some of these could literally kill people. Additionally, with HK, they’re cooking at his restaurant, under his name. You wouldn’t want your reputation to get ruined or someone to get sick dining at your place because some ditz doesn’t know how to sear a scallop, would you? With MasterChef (Junior and regular) and The F-Word, he is much calmer as he’s dealing with inexperienced people who aren’t hoity-toity, but eager to gain knowledge from him. You’ll see a clear difference with how Gordon deals with arrogant “chefs” vs humble beginners.

Gordon is a man of extremes. When he's ticked off, run for cover, but he can be incredibly supportive and kind, too. Good lord, the whole of Kitchen Nightmares is him going out trying to HELP people, often not just their businesses, but their families and personal lives, too. He's a remarkable fellow.

The anger and the cursing is mostly just his character and act within the kitchen, whilst in the kitchen he is of course intimidating in his pursuit of perfection and such, but that's what he did to achieve his success, of course, a lot of it is "hyped up" for views now. IRL he is actually a super nice guy, and very charitable, he just has a very intense leadership style in his kitchen. He's one of my favourite TV chefs alongside Nadiya Hussain (who is so lovely and wholesome all the time x3)

LOL i just love him, he's a scorpio so it's typical for them to get angry, stressed, want perfection, want everything to be military like in their life, he really is a sweetheart underneath his tough exterior though. he cracks me up with his sarcasm. and the tongs, i just friggin died laughing of how they flipped in the air when he got pissed. he's literallly like a lawyer for food along with hygiene and when he sees people getting treated wrongly. he's like the type of dad that everyone needs in their life, when he was growing up, his dad was a complete asshole, was abusive, a alcoholic, and womanizer, gordon got fed up with that shit and with the permission of his mom, moved out, and bettered his life, he has a younger brother that is a drug addict and he's steered clear of shenanigans like that, he's actually a kickass amazing loving dad to his 6 kids he's got now and a wonderful husband to his wife tana (theyve had their ups and downs, but theyve been together for 28 years (their anniversary is december 21, 1996) jack and holly are twins, they were born prematurely and almost died, and gordon has loved every single one of his kids and are proud of them, jack is in the royal marines, megan got a degree in psychology, holly did some fashion and modeling work, and is a advocate for mental health, tilly (matilda) is a chef, social media influencer, works alongside her dad as a judge, and hosts her own cooking show, hes got a child named oscar who is 5 and their new baby jesse who was just born in november last year (2023) note: tilly and him share the same birthday, november 8th.

Chef Ramsay is very passionate about food. He is mean to professional chefs because they should know better. The reason he has so many Michelin stars is because he is so exact. He is an excellent teacher and mentor and is encouraging to the home chefs (such as the blind woman) on Master Chef.

The reason Gordon is mad is because the chefs he yells at are expected to be experienced, and able to work at a high standard professional setting. Yet if you look closely, they make mistakes that even an amateur won't do or are stubbornly ignorant, which is why he's so hard on them so they can really take the lesson to heart. He's only mad to people who deserve it, and gives kindness to those who deserve it. That's why he's a really popular chef.
