Digging this format, great to see the evolution of the channel doesn't mean the loss of overpain :) honestly, watching you so clearly and concisely explain what's wrong with these paintings over the years has made me a such a better artist. It's been the single best resource I've ever come across. Keep up the great work. The new lighting / backdrop looks good also!

Well this was a nice surprise.. I didn't think you ever saw my submission but today I stumbled onto this video and saw that you did an overpaint on my art! Thank you for the fantastic advice! There was so much wrong with my mushroom-climber dude and you were able to concisely point out many of the flaws. I think I'll work on a re-do of it and then submit it to you for an RE-Over-pain episode ;D Cheers, homie!

I like this new over-pain method. It still honors each submission, but doesn't require you to spend a day with each one. People will get feedback faster as well. Great stuff!

The first artist with the bear piece would totally benefit from watching Aaron Blaise's (super wholesome) art videos, if they don't already! He animated for Brother Bear way back and has art in a style similar to what they seemed to be shooting for. I bet Blaise and Boro would get along super well come to think of it, both such good and wholesome and insightful teaching styles :') ps not meant to be an ad or anything, just a suggestion in case the artist sees this!

Hey Boro. Maybe you can help me leading me the right way. I enjoy painting a lot. But I'm still a beginner in drawing. When I do my outlines and try to paint it always comes out uglier, more stiff and less dynamic as when I just start painting right away. I think I just have a much easier time painting shapes instead of outlining them. Would you highly recommend me to still sketch outlines or would you recommend to just paint right away if that is what I wanna do? Would I still see improvement in drawing if I just paint? (My goal isn't just to have fun. I'm really trying to get better.)

hi Boro, i am seriously considering a tablet, but have a hard time deciding between wcom intous and cintiq, i think a cintiq is more flex, because i could take it anywhere, but imnotsure is that would be that neccesary...., furthermore i wonder what would be the better size to start with...., ty in advance....the xp pen16 looks really interesting too, but imnotsure how that upholds in comparison with the wacoms....tnx uploads, very informative:)

Excellent instruction, explanations make sense so it's easy to learn common mistakes and how to fix them. I should have upgraded Photoshop since CS5 Extended! Photoshop is where I started with digital rendering but I didn't like that Adobe went subscription and stopped upgrading, switched to Corel Painter. Clearly Photoshop is better than it was and even though I rarely use it, would like this UI and features more than CS5. You don't like that tablet... is it a Wacom Companion? I couldn't tell. It looks the same size as their 16" tablet which can be cramped but easier to curl up with in a recliner than a 21UX on an Ergotron arm. 😆 Lazy? At my age we're allowed to be lazy...

I guess the aerial perspective conveniently placed behind the subject can be a thing in real life as well. These days I took a picture of a cat with dark fur (I'm not a photographer btw) and the surroundings of it had this bright light, like it was shining

What did you mean by 3D drawing? Wouldn't rendring a drawing realistically (in 3D) turn it into a painting? Thanks for the video, I really like this new format!

I think it's about how dynamic you make the lines and shapes. The coloring/shadows can also indicate space. Ambient occlusion does that very well. Drawings don't have to be flat at all
