@@osmosisbless its great how black folk make up 13 percent of American population yet black artists made up a much, much larger percentage of this list. @@bunjijumper5345 Why not say then that the list lacks an Indian or Asian influence? There are more chinese people on earth and to my knowledge there is not one Chines album on this list. 100% “Thriller” by Michael Jackson should be Number 1 on the list it was a cosmic shift within not only music but the world in general it was a true cultural reset Lauryn Hill’s best work is not even better than Michael’s 2nd or 3rd best work let alone freaking THRILLER!!! that’s just factual.👑🎯💯(Also I must say the biggest snub from this entire list is having Taylor Swift album “1989” (Taylor’s Version) instead of Coldplay’s “Parachutes” or Jamiroquai’s “Travelling Without Moving”)

No list is perfect, but at least make is somewhat respectable. For starters I reordered Apple Music’s top 10 albums of all time. 1. Thriller - Michael Jackson 2. Abbey Road - The Beatles 3. Songs in the Key of Life - Stevie Wonder 4. Purple Rain - Prince 5. Nevermind - Nirvana 6. Miseducation - Lauryn Hill 7. Good Kid, mAAd city - Kendrick Lamar 8. Back to Black - Amy Winehouse 9. Lemonade - Beyonce 10. Blonde - Frank Ocean Having young people involved isn’t a good excuse why the list is bad. Just have requirements and standards. Also no album under 5 years should on the list. That’s way too early to determine where it stacks up against ALL TIME albums.

Mariah Carey has no skips and had a big impact on hip hop and R&b and got Jay-Z his first #1, Donna Summer had a great body work, Whitney Houston has the highest selling female album, she has 10 songs on her first 2 albums there's only one skip each. one of her albums is still charting 30 years later she broke records. No Diana Ross and the Supremes they had hits back to back? Katy Perry definitely had no skips she was ruling with lady Gaga. Eminem was definitely pulling numbers. It's the fact that most of these albums they have good songs but some of them don't have big international hits and impactful songs like thriller. And I'm surprised there's no Britney Spears.

Music is subjective. While it's good to be critical I think a list put together with people choosing what they naturally gravitate toward would be more culturally accurate when accessing what overlaps generationally . Instead of being cornered into what you believe is important to other people that are also choosing based on what they believe is important to other people. Yes, everyone knows healthy food choices but how often or how many people make it majority of their diet?

And also on the heels of some of the best rap music, and should I say just music in general? With Kendrick and Drake provoking each other to give us the best rap s*** I've heard in Years. I was shocked yet very happy to see Lauren hill at number 1. But honestly the coolest thing that i've gotten from all of this is the fact that you can go to apple type in top one hundred and literally listen to all one hundred of the greatest albums of all time.

Huh? I guess me if it isn't you” - Kanye. Like Andre 3000, I think Lauryn Hill should also do an interview these days to share some personal insights and perspectives. I have my problems with the list but I love music so much that I appreciate it nonetheless and I agree with several picks placements. I think my biggest complaint is that they probably should’ve just stuck with one album per artist because some artists got 2 spots and that kinda made it more controversial I think lol.

Honestly, i love seeing Blond by Frank Ocean that high up. Also A Seat At The Table by Solange not being in the top 10 or even top 20 is shocking to me. But i guess they are right...there can never really be total consensus on a list like this. The lauryn Hill album being number 1 though is definetly not surprising, such a timeless record.

The only positive aspect of this list is that it has gotten my late 90’s born self going back to some legendary projects but other than that the list itself is terrible.

Very disappointed that Aaliyah's "One in a million" didn't make this list!! That album is arguably one of most influential albums of its genre, and has certainly changed how we listened to r&b/pop music.

Found where 2pac was on the list, despite the how many artists reference that album and can't compete with that type of double disc album body of work. I know people love The Chronic but it was basically a diss album towards Easy-E. I brought Frank Ocean's album Blonde this year however, sonically Orange Channel is more upbeat and easy to listen to, and don't mind asking someone to play this in their car, Blonde is mostly self listening to.

Lauryn Hill #1 is absurd. Because if men, lgbtq and women all didn't listen to it just as hard, it can not be number 1. The Number one is a consensus. What are we talking about? 🤦🏾‍♂️😭

The fact that Elton John "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is at number 78 given the production, writing, interwoven storytelling, and numbers - immediately invalidates this list to me. Then you have Blueprint over Illmatic? I'm a diehard fan of Elton John, Jay-Z, and Nas - but BYE. 👋

They really should have compiled a larger list from their voting system and then required the final vote AFTER everyone voting had actually listened to all the nominated albums. These lists are always flawed but it would be nice if someone actually did the work to make a more legitimate list.

This list is diabolical. There are so many reasons why too. 1. Abbey Road & Blonde are better than Songs in the Key of Life?!? 2. Blonde isn't even Frank Ocean's best album. 3. Multiple artists who have two good albums don't have them on this list even if they are objectively better than other albums on the list. 4. Then the misses entirely, no GRODT? No 2014 FHD?!? No DMX album? No Whitney or Mariah? This is objectively insane. 5. Objectively, after listening to Miseducation yesterday, as good as it is, it's not as good as Thriller. Let's be serious.
