im glad to see that im not the only one who almost started bawling when he gave it a 6 but then realize its fantano and we should be grateful.

Yea that is what we need to remember 🙃. I was ultra pissed off too when he gave one of my most favourite projects a 6/10 but then i was later informed that that was pretty good frm his pov so well

A concept: we can all still love the album even if some of what he’s saying is true.

I think everyone’s had the same general feeling about Harry’s house. I feel like HS1 and Fine Line were still Harry trying to prove and establish himself as a solo artist and building himself up and Harry’s house was just him feeling comfortable to make absolutely whatever he wanted for himself.

I love cinema. Why is it bad that a song is simple? I don’t think the the lyrics are lazy I think it’s just simple and it almost has that like giddy feeling of starting to like someone and you think they’re so cool and you just hope that they think you’re cool in return. Also production on cinema is the best part of the song!

I think something that keeps me from getting frustrated why people don’t like said song is perfectly explained by the saying what you eat don’t make me shit just relish ur fav songs
@sakinaalia1067 Жыл бұрын
It’s not bad, he probably just found it boring and that’s why. People feel different things for music and fantano basically just tried to figure out why he felt that way.

I personally like it till it gets towards the later parts of the song. The repetition gets hella annoying

That's exactly what Harry said. That this album is what he likes to listen to. I don't know what he's talking about when he said that "Love of my Life" is a confessional piece. It's a song about England. lol

Maybe it’s because I’m a stan but I feel like most accusations of this album being mid or inoffensive can be distilled down to it being a transition album. I truly think he spent a long time trying to figure out how to drag along those fans who wanted another HS1. I’m excited for the next project

I don’t think he wanted Love Of My Life to resolve - that was part of the message in the song and an experimentation in the sound

U know i don't love Anthony coz of the thing which u said and that is that he listens to so much music that sometimes some things moments which excite the listener of the particular artist simply falls flat for him and that can be kinda not cool to hear uk. Ive learned not to be overly annoyed at his thoughts but it still stays. I agree with some of the points he brings up (in this review particularly) but ultimately i just listen to what i wanna hear and just respectfully disagree with the rest and leave. Nice to see u react to this man. Do u plan on doing stuff like this for others? Or maybe reacting to others reactions?

I gotta say, I didn't hate his review this time and I saw some snippet of him reacting to 3-4 songs including little freak, he seemed to be liking those for the most part, which is really weird, I've grown immune to his criticism and now I almost didn't need it :) The way he was praising some of my fave songs I saw a turned-over 9 there, I don't even care 🤣 The Patrick Bateman part was hilarious, tho🤭

you mentioned you were surprised people didn't like the album because it was 'inoffensive' and noticed a lot of people who didn't like the album were just fans of his who had expectations that didn't get met with the album. i personally am not a fan of harry, i like a few songs off every album but had no preconceived notions about this one going into it and i was thoroughly just underwhelmed because of how middle ground it was. there was nothing surprising or unique about it to me. it felt like he was just intimidating his influences rather than being inspired by them and making their style his own. it turned it into a parody rather than his own work. plus the writing is just bad a lazy, i know he tried to do the 'stream of consciousness' style of writing but i didn't do it well. phoebe bridgers is great example of what feels like stream of consciousness, but every single sentence still means something and isn't just included because it sounds cool. harry is fully just saying things that don't mean anything lol. (harry fans dont hate me i just thought this point hadn't been explored yet)

Hellloo im a harry listener and your opinion on his songwriting is completely valid. But the truth is his lyrics are not your typical/usual lyrics. I have been a fan of MANY artists but Harry’s lyrics are by far the most interesting in my opinion. Even though most of his songs on the album are radio friendly the lyrics are quite unique and have many layers to them. His lyrics were always like that though, it’s really 70s and 80s inspired. He writes these lyrics that paint an image or the scenery more than anything. Listen to kiwi for example. He creates this eerie atmosphere where you feel like he SAID so much but at the same time he didn’t which with most people I’ve seen it has an effect of “i want to hear more”. Take cinema for example the lyrics “ i just think you’re cool…() do you think im cool too?” They are supposed to be playful and relaxed, that’s the vibe of the songs. Keep driving has its one stor, all these things are happening (describing how his life is every day) and just ignores it and keeps driving. Listen to “she” a song that could be interpreted in a lot of ways. she is known to be about HARRY’S identity by referring to his femininity to a third person. Sunflower vol 6 (from his album fine line) pretty much shows how there is a fine line between loving someone and becoming borderline emotionally obsessed. The gasps and boops show the disturbance of obsessive behavior out of love. Treat people with kindness is again showing us THE fine line between being a good person and going to the other extreme”if our friends all pass away it’s okay” the contrast is big. Fine line(the song) in my opinion his best work is full of parallels, it feels like an ending and beginning. Full of sadness and hope. As it was is incredibly vulnerable lyrically, it’s devastating. It has a nostalgic feel which goes very well with the lyrics or it even has a sense of anemoia. Daydreaming is amazing , very Michael Jackson styled explains Quincy Jones’ appearance. To be so lonely it’s that “cliché violins sad song” but ITS supposed to be like that, supposed to feel pathetic. It’s a great song. Hope you will view his songwriting in a different light.

I hate when people say you can’t criticize something just because you haven’t done it yourself, by that logic all music is amazing if you haven’t made a song
