Notice how Jordan never played "basketball", he played "the game of basketball." He held/holds the game in high esteem and speaks of it that way. Always so cool to me.

If jordan was a pro wrestler, he would have *always* wiped his feet before getting in the ring. Because yes, he respected everything about what it represented. Weird analogy I know, but it's also a thing.

@@TheRealMindCrime LeBron James is the story of what happens when he can't achieve what Michael Jordan could with a crappy bulls team at the time could. LeBron sold his soul to the devil to get his 30 pieces of silver. And that looks like a buffoon for doing so😂

I miss the days of celebrating winners for winning! When we see players go through adversity, when they lose and they use that as motivation to come back stronger. When they slay their dragon and become the dragon without having to go build a super team. The picture of MJ in tears hugging his first trophy is iconic because you could see how emotional that win was for MJ. It gave truth to his work ethic that no matter who many times you previously failed, you will overcome and win if you put in the hard work! It solidified that through all the beatings he took, all the pain and tears he had to endure, it was all worth it!

Even if another player like Jordan does come along, he'll never have the impact. Jordan was the perfect player at the perfect time. So much of the culture around American athletes is because of MJ with endorsements, shoes, and player contracts. It's going to be hard for someone else to find that next level, whatever it is. I feel bad for all the young people that didn't get to watch him play. Sure videos exist, but so much context is lost having not been in the moment.

One thing I'd like to add here that is widely forgotten is game 1 in the 96/97 series. The buzzer beater he made over Russell in Game 1 was ultimately even more impressive and important than his infamous ' last shot, crossover on Russell the next year. It was game one of the NBA finals, on their home floor, and if Jordan misses that shot, the bulls go down 0-1 and imo, lose that series if he misses. This was GAME 1 on their HOME floor, and Jordan still had to bail them out. I'll never forget where I was standing while watching him hit that shot. I was an utter nervous wreck and could hardly watch. But low and behold, the man who you KNEW would find a way, found a way indeed. Just thought it was interesting how that original buzzer beater goes overlooked because of the game winner he had the following year. That shot changes everything though. Also, like MindCrime says, it was literally expected, expected that Jordan was going to make these shots. Do you youngsters realize the pressure and utter tenacity of this man? I personally will go out and say point blank that MJ is not only the best basketball player ever, he's the most dominant athlete out of any sport in recorded human history. Never has there been someone who has single-handedly dominated a Game ( Mezzi perhaps ? )--- to the extent that Jordan did. God I miss him. Thanks for the awesome Video man! Cheers!

14:54 he was an adidas fan before this. I also remember him doing ads for the Air Alphas, not sure if he ever wore them in a game. Jordan changed gym shoes from sporting tools to fashion. The AJ1 was its own design, the 2 was very different, the 3 was different, the 4 (my fave, still) all became fashion and aspirational. I had a friend who proudly showed me his prom pic, a tux and black/cement aj3s Chuck Taylors still look like Chucks, the converse weapons (Magic, Bird) stayed the same, different colorways. It's funny to see and hear former players such as Pippen, Dirk, and Stockton say in the past that Jordan was the GOAT and or number 1 top player of all time. Only for them to retract that now and say Lebron is the GOAT. Those types of people i find to be disingenuous but, Michael Jordan was the GOAT in my opinion. Those stills of the fouls..that middle photo, Isaiah is tackling Jordan's head and Rodman is about to punch Jordan in the chest -- I mean, in no way is that even a hard foul -- it's a punch. (It's in the Voyager video but most people miss the punch because the head tackle is so distracting and it happens simultaneously). When you see stuff like that, you really gotta hand it to MJ for being cool with the idea of playing with Rodman. For everyone who thinks MJ is petty and never forgives any slight...meh...apparently not, if someone is going to be a valuable addition to the team.

Man I could go on and on with my actual thoughts here so I'll try to keep it manageable. The younger generation has NO IDEA what MJ and his run meant to the NBA. If MJ never played, and was a baseball player instead. There is a really good chance that the NBA would've become what the WNBA is today. And the WNBA wouldn't even exist because it's funded by the men's league. Basketball, and sports in general used to be about watching the ability to overcome and achieve. The willingness to give everything u have, fail, and try again. To stand up to adversity and not fold. It amazes me how growing up everyone just KNEW why MJ was the greatest to ever do it. And now we here complete and utter NONSENSE questioning his competition, his ability to go left, his ability to shoot outside shots, etc etc. It really makes me question if the next generation is gonna actually make it...... because they don't see the hidden messages. They don't read between the lines. They just seem to react without thought, and follow what mainstream tells them. It almost seems zombie like. Critical thinking is fading fast

It scares me too. The new gen wants to be told what to say and think. We weren't like that before. We prided in being unique and now its celebrated to simply act like everyone else

I just looked it up, cuz I was this close to just immediately commenting "Bull Blazers. 100%..." Yeah uh, that confidence there is about as effective as betting it all on 42 Yellow in Roulette 😂 It's actually Lakers Celtics!! I remember that move being awesome, and "new," and not only was Bulls Blazers my fav in that series, I remember it being just so much better than the 1st ones. I also remember playing it with my cousin and older brother and we couldn't figure out Jordan's move, so wjen we saw that "Nets" move, it rocked, so I just always associated 'sick move-best game in the series' haha Finding those moves, pre-internet, I don't think the instruction booklet told u each guy's move, and even if it did, by that 3rd installment, half the fun was taking every team and fartin around trying to find the star's move, booklets or hints be damned lol I think u & i chatted about this before maybe, or maybe someone else, whatever---- but I'll not only never forget the INSANE move from Tom FRIGGIN Chambers,,but the looks on our faces and laughter seeing this guy dunk from the top of the key at what seemed supersonic speed .... 😅😅 🤦 We knew Chambers was good and all but having probably the best, most unstoppable and sick looking move? come on man 😂

"How do you become great....stack the deck against you" That's the thing LeBron stans fail to understand. Lebron has consistently stacked the decks MASSIVELY in his own favour by teaming up with superstar after superstar after superstar. He has given himself the easiest road possible to success that any player could possibly hope for. No other player had done this in the history of the game...now _everybody_ is doing it because LeBron set the precedent. Make your road as easy as possible. It's weak as hell yet somehow he has a legion of fans who respect him for it. It's a perfect reflection of the current generation, too lazy and too soft to take the hard road...bunch of damn pansies.

To add on to your comment about the Bulls perpetual rebuild since breaking up the Dynasty, how freaking weird is it for the front office (really Krause) to be so bloody minded about firing Coach Jackson?? I mean I know they more pushed him out awkwardly ...but why did they even try to do that? The only winning coach the Bulls have EVER had? And you don't secure his position? Knowing his departure will lose you MJ,, too? It makes ZERO sense. The Dynasty Bulls were not only the champs who earned the right to defend in tact (I mean, did they not owe.it to MJ?) but also, they were a money machine! I just don't understand the wisdom of bailing on Phil, MJ, and the rest of the team (manny of whom have proven to be irreplaceable) when everyone could see that they were clearly irreplaceable. Did the Bulls organization get tired of money? Bulls organization run out of space for the stacks of cash? Make it make sense.

Ego Krause wanted to get the last laugh with Phil because he blamed Phil for allowing the players to bad mouth him. This was his revenge. Its so childish that it makes me sick that this is why the Bulls dynasty ended prematurely.
@--ArcAngel--
@--ArcAngel-- Ай бұрын
I believe that...cuz nothing else makes sense. I think you are right. And add to that, Jerry Krause always wanted to prove the organization was great, not those special players. He was so sure he could simply put together another Dynasty. And then he would be a hero/genius. Except MJ was always the key...the dude with the secret sauce...

Jerry Krause broke up the Bulls because he was obsessed with and despised the fact he wasn’t receiving credit for the Bulls success. Krause’ relationship with Phil Jackson had deteriorated so badly that he told Phil “Idc if we go undefeated through the regular season and the playoffs after this season you’re gone!!” Krause was incensed that Phil Jackson got more credit than he did for the Bulls success smh and both Jerry’s used age as the primary reason for the breakup and HELL NO IT’S NOT AI 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Btw the media and Klutch sports are now pushing that Jordan can’t be the GOAT because he was cut from his high school team 😂😂😂that LeBron was never cut and went to the pros not putting into context that Moses Malone was the last high schooler drafted in the 70’s and he was drafted by the ABA’s Houston Rockets for the hardship clause. Back in our day you went to college for at least 3 years before you considered the NBA

I wonder if James Jordans drath had anything to do with possible gambling debts... Some people have surmised this as a possibility, rather than a random murder. More of a green light to send MJ a message. Either way, its horrible & a genuine tragedy. Michael handed it as well as anybody could have. RIP Mr. Jordan
@TheRealMindCrime

I never bought that because Jordan had a ton of money in 93 already. Why would he have debts? Yes he gambled a lot but he had the money to cover everything so why does everyone insert the word "debts" along with gambling here?

That’s not totally true, in the on the court interview with Costas, he said that he would keep going as long as he was having fun. Until later that night he found out that his father’s body had been found from a mafia style killing. Then he lost the desire to keep playing.
