You seem to get Mingyu's charm points already. He's like a smart, playful and adorable puppy to everyone. He's very talented and he can be really clingy too. For Wonwoo, he's mainly chill and sincere. Sweetest with the younger members esp. the maknae line. His playful side mostly just comes out with Hoshi (he'd even pull a prank on him) and the rest of 96-line, Jun and Woozi. His relationship with Mingyu is an exception. They both love photography, videography and editing so they have something to bond with whenever they're abroad. Their works are amazing. Also, they're the only members living in the same place now so they got even closer.

Mingyu ang Wonwoo both have a good voice they can pass as vocalist tbh. Mingyu's voice is kinda raspy while Wonwoo's voice is kinda soft that compliments each other well. MinWon is literally one of the best ships in kpop. They got this natural chemistry and they perfectly balance each other. I'm not a person who believes in soulmates or twinflames kind of stuff but MinWon is an exception 😄 everything about them screams twinflames....they are opposites but they complete each other. Like, Gyu being an extrovert and Wonu being an introvert, their position in the groups 6 and 9, their representative letters M and W, their sunsign moon sign... everything just balances each other. They were destined to be with each other (not romantically, i don't ship them romantically soulmates can be platonic,right?). I think Mingyu struggled with singing earlier because of his natural raspy voice and “lisp”. You know most of the coaches prefer “clear” singing but Mingyu’s voice will always be one of my favs cause his raspy voice is everything

In the last video, the thing about the confidence was professionally and socially. Wonwoo is less confident in socializing with people, but he is very confident in his artist and idol identity. Mingyu was referring to his professional confidence. You can see this in their ''Joker'' live video, on stage, every shyness flies away from Wonwoo. It's just his professional identity. In real life he is an introvert baby. But Mingyu makes him feel more at ease and he can get a little bit more social thanks to him!

wonwoo and mingyu are my ults! their personalities are very opposite but they have a lot of common interests like going to museums, creating videos and photography (they go on photo walks when on tour). i think this is why they are a popular ship. they joined pledis almost at the same time and had a lot of cute moments pre-debut

This was referenced in (I think) the W Korea video but Wonwoo is generally considered a cat and Mingyu a puppy, and that tells you a lot about both their personalities tbh. They're actually both really smart, but I guess Wonwoo is more of what you might consider a stereotypical "nerd" type - quiet and introverted, into reading and games, apparently uses a lot of big words, etc. (I say that with love, as I am also a nerd lol). If you get into GoSe, there are some eps that show how smart Mingyu is, too. Also...30:33 - It's Mingyu. Mingyu is the member who can cook lmao. (I know you're trying to avoid biasing Mingyu, so I'm sorry to tell you he is imo the most husband-material member of Seventeen. He cooks and cleans, and he's smart and sweet. He's also clumsy and prone to embarrassing himself sometimes, but that's why we love him 😂)

Since they are in the hiphop team of Seventeen, in the terms of rapping, I always thought of the opposite! Wonwoo's voice and tone always felt like a little bit darker than Mingyu's.. So hearing you say opposite was a shock for me, but I agree! In Bittersweet, Wonwoo definitely sounds more breathier and bright. But in the terms of rap, I think they totally switch between themselves!

i love love love Mingyu’s lisp and a lot of carats do too! i don’t think what you said was offensive at all. When he talks he also tends to talk fast and like slur his words together too. his lisp while he’s singing is one of my faves ever lol maybe he might’ve had some ill feelings towards it before (like early early on in their career or maybe even before debut) but as far as i know, right now, i don’t think he cares about it at all haha it’s honestly just a normal thing and none of the members not do carats ever point it out in a negative way i love mingyus voice. he’s grown so much since debut when he was sort of insecure about it. (it’s what his lines in Trauma are about.) so seeing him get so much praise for his vocals these days makes me so happy

yeah they really do have one of the best friendships and despite being opposite, they compliment each other. the two of them actually live together, like they have seperate rooms, but the dorm is just to two of them. they recently revealed that wonwoo likes to turn up the temperature and mingyu just lets him and everyone is just amazed they live together, but are so opposite. mingyu also has a habit of grabbing wonwoo's hand, idk if you noticed lol. i just love their friedship

Mingyu's lisp is well known in the fandom don't worry. It's always been there but it doesn't seem to be a big deal for koreans (or they don't really care about it) because Sean (from the SeannaTV channel, he's a native korean) didn't notice it until his japanese-american wife, Anna, pointed it out. He used to not be confident in his singing but I don't think that had to do with his lisp, most likely just not being confident in his skills. Mingyu is an extrovert, he's playful and makes friends easily. Wonwoo is very introverted, he's mentioned he felt he had a weak presence and found it hard to fit in in school etc... but Seventeen made him feel comfortable because they always took care of him and included him in activities. Despite their opposite personalities, they have similar interests so they've always been quite close.

they're the most popular combination in seventeen but you should also make sure to check out less popular friendships cause the most popular ones aren't always the closest. i'd argue mingyu is closer to his fellow 97liners while wonwoo seems closest to hoshi or even s.coups. seventeen's age lines in particular have very fun dynamics, though there are also members with bigger age differences that are surprisingly close. basically, if you only check out the popular friendships, you'll miss out on a lot of fun content.
