Alex mentioned aphantasia so here's my aphantasia story/comment to sway the algorithm insignificantly🥳 : I'm studying for a biology degree rn and the professor asked us to imagine a frog and compare how different or similar their muscle anatomy is to mammals, so I got up and snatched my leopard gecko Stevie to be my frog stand-in since I can't imagine a frog. My camera was on AND I wasnt muted- like an idiot- so everyone heard me whisper in frustration "theres no frogs in my head, Stevie..." i cried after the zoom call ended 👍 😁

@alexisthompson63103 жыл бұрын
I’ve never heard of it either! I imagine it’s just one of those things where you don’t realize your experience is different than what other people experience unless someone explicitly brings it up. I found out like over the summer that some people have an “internal monologue,” but a lot of people don’t, and usually you don’t know the other type of person exists. Basically people with it just have a running stream of “verbal” thoughts all of the time, and if you don’t have one, you still have “verbal” thoughts you just have to like consciously have them, and otherwise it’s more thinking in imagery and feelings.

oh my god that horrible enclosure at 5:59 was sold to me as a kid as a tadpole enclosure. this reminds me of when I used to catch salamanders in my yard and at the park when I was little. I would take them home, keep them in a critter keeper and try to feed them insects I found in the yard. Of course the insects weren't the right size or type, so the salamander wouldn't eat. Then I'd get worried and release them after a day or two. Oh the things we do as kids LOL

Hahahahaha so cute! The things we do when were kids. I wasint much different. I was always chasing anything that moved and tromping thru woods. Mice, snakes, sparrows, baby bunnies, frogs, even a mole and shrew. Catchem all by hand. Except for squirrels and grackles. Got them in traps. Could not have a fish tank with me as a kid. I wouldn't stay out of them lol. Poor animals. As kids, were so hard on them lol Why kids need such early education on proper handling. I also tried my hand at digging a pond. I was a bit older and I made a nice sizeable hole, but nothing came of it and I abandoned the idea. I couldn't get water to stay. I did make a very nice compost heap with found branches and sticks though. That held up well. I think you handled the frog ok, it seemed fine. Probably shooken up a bit but seemed chill enough. Like its been thru that before lol Pretty cool to get to ride around on that lawn mower. I think I got to drive one once or twice as a kid and it was fun.
