So at 11:14 you show the underside and that is a seriously tight C curve to the point of pinching/biting into the finger tip. Obviously you take some of the excess off during filing and that helps, but then at 14:20 it still looks like it is pinching just a bit of the finger tip. Is this due to over pinching like I mean it seems to me that the acrylic is forcing the nail to curve more than the natural nail was before it was applied. Does this cause pain/discomfort or cut into the skin?? Or cause ingrown sides once the acrylic is off.....assuming it ever comes off. I remember one time you purposely put a thin layer of acrylic over a natural nail and pinched it to give the nail more of a C curve because some of her nails had less than others, but that one didn't seem severe like this one does.

I currently work with hard gel and Im noticing during things like fills sometimes the nail makes just a nornal giling sound but sometimes its a more high pitch sound exspecially if there is a bit of lifting. Im hopeful the longer i do nails ill learn what the different sounds mean but a video from a pro like you would be super helpful. Thanks kirsty 💜

@BornToDreamTheBeat5 жыл бұрын
Pinching the nails make them more stable/harder to break. Touching stuff with your nails always puts some sort of pressure on them and the curve just evens that out. It's the same reason why bridges usually have these "c curves" build under them

You should try polishing that length with regular nail polish lol. I still like to switch it up some and wear regular polish but my one issue is there’s not a brush big enough to hold enough polish on it to make it to end of my nail. It’s long long and I need to dip so fast and at least four times to get a fully covered nail, needless to say a bottle doesn’t last long and needs to be thinned down after first hand or it starts to get to thick. Just for a laugh it would be fun to see you do a set with regular polish. From a huge fan.

Oh, you've grown so much, especially as a presenter. You were nervous, but it wasn't cringe-worthy. It was a new experience and you weren't yet sure of yourself and comfortable in front of the camera. What I noticed is how dark (and new) your tattoos are! I've never said this before, but I just love your full-sleeve tattoo. I don't know if it's meant to look like the classical style of engraving, but that's what it looks like to me. Like it's maybe a design on currency or hand tooled and carved leather like a fancy western style saddle, or a cowboy's belt. I'm sure it's the acanthus leaves that are present on top of every Corinthian column, and (I think) on your arm, that make my head go straight to classical designs.

Ok last post full of questions...Maybe...I think....at least for this video...I'm not a nail tech, so maybe these are stupidly basic questions for most trained pros, but why does the form have to angle a certain way for it to be a stiletto? It seems some nails you talk about lining up the form so the side walls will be straight and some you talk about lining up the apex to be straight. Does this truly matter as far as the nail being strong enough (like how the apex and other things have to be a certain way for strength etc.) or is it more of an aesthetic choice? And is it like a standard thing within the entire nail industry as far as what constitutes a certain shape? Or is it more of a personal choice with you? Oh and does this only matter when using nail forms? If a shop uses tips, do they still line up the side walls at a certain angle to the sides of the natural nail? Are there different types of nail shapes...oh wait you call them enhancements (just remembered that, look at me doing a learn! 😂). Anyway, are there different shapes that are the same shape when viewed from the top but just vary in the angle of the nail when viewed from the side? Is it just an aesthetic choice? Or like I said about strength does it matter for that or maybe for how the stress is placed on the nail or how the C curve is affected? Oh speaking of the C curve, are there certain shapes that are better for people with very flat nail beds? I know a tight C curve is supposed to make nails stronger, at least with natural nails and I assume that it may also strengthen enhancements? Or is acrylic strong enough regardless?

I watch you while I practice on my own nails I’ve got disabilities that cause problems in using them I was wondering if acrylic is easier to smooth and shape with a file rather than builder gel? I’m using NYK1 nail force builder... also having my nails makes me feel more feminine (so long as my hair and nails are ok I feel good) but watching your videos has made me brave enough to try longer (a 2-3) as well as more colours, nail art and shapes when I always stuck to baby pink square tips... currently wearing a grey with fine glitter and white decal on a first attempt at ballerina.

20:01 why does it matter if it sets first? Is it just a matter of wasting time waiting for the length to finish setting? If so that wouldn't normally matter doing a full hand right? You'd just go to the next finger and let it finish, I assume. Or is there an issue with pinching time or adhesion or something I don't know about??

I’m a musician so I only get my nails done on one hand. The other hand is stubby and gross with thick callouses from years of playing stringed instruments. @Dreviathal5 жыл бұрын
Blue monomer contains ingredients that prevent the acrylic from turning yellow. Clear liquid is still good but there is a chance that the lighter colored acrylics will turn a bit yellowish over time if used for a while.
