6:40 yeah the birds don’t play with toys and aren’t active because the owner isn’t giving them a chance...they need to be higher to start and their activity would probably go up. But the part that bothers me the most is that they said it would be a waste of money... then don’t get a pet if you aren’t willing to pay for its proper care.
@charliepye90854 жыл бұрын
I have had a bird for 2 days now and she is showing signs of a happy bird and I have plenty of different toys for her and she has touched one yet and even if after she has fully settled she continues to not play with them I will still keep them in and even buy more to see if she likes it better because I dont want to take away the option for her, it's not fair for a bird to have no toys even if they dont play with them

My rules for getting a cage are: if you can’t get a good size cage for your bird (teeny tabletop cage) don’t get a bird at all, or get a smaller bird if you haven’t already bought one. A lot of birds, like you have said before, get rehomed and it’s really sad to see a bird crammed inside a little cage before being sent back and losing trust in other humans too. Do your research!

@abbykiss56344 жыл бұрын
The way I got my bird to eat veggies is i shredded up some carrots then took a bite to show him that it was ok to eat. Then he ate it. Some birds prefer chunks of veggies, or peeled. It all depends on your bird tho. I hope you bird starts eating veggies soon. And it takes time so don’t give up. Try different varieties of fruits or veggies to see what you bird prefers :) good luck I guess

I’ve noticed so many videos on KZbin that are like: “I got a new Budgie!” And it ends up that almost all of them are the same. A little girl, a man, or a parent getting a bird and being uninformed and end up getting a tiny cage with dowel perches and plastic toys, almost all of the birds have clipped wings. I’m glad that you’re spreading the message that getting birds requires research, care, effort, and quite a bit of money. Thank you for informing everyone about cage and bird care. If you use dowel perches, you can rough them up with a hammer or various things to give them grip and texture. 👍

These videos are such a big help. Especially for a first time bird owner like me! Do you have any tips for rescuing birds?

Everyone what do you think those parakeets in the small cage would do to the person who put them in a very small cage if the parakeets where the same size as the person who owned them

All of the avian professionals I have asked during the past 15 years agree that the "cement" (or similar) perches meant to control the nails of birds are useless for that job and can only cause hardship to their feet if used regularly (even if they are smooth on top). They say there is no proof whatsoever that they have any effect on the nails. I personally never observed that they were efficient so I stopped using them years ago. I wonder what your thoughts are on that matter...
@ElleAndTheBirds4 жыл бұрын
I’m not a huge fan of them either, I agree that they don’t really work. But if a bird has a lot of other perches in the cage then I don’t think having one cement perch will necessarily cause problems.

Could you pls reply with a link to a good parrot cage for a cockatiel (only one cockatiel for the cage that I have asked you to recommend, maybe another in the future but I’d get a upgrade if I did)?

Hey! 😁 I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing this. I have been typing up documents and writing papers for hours recently based on your videos. I have been working really hard because I am trying to convince my parents to let me get a budgie, and the only way I knew they would even consider it is if I gave them a bunch of facts and smartness on a paper. I am at school a lot so I will have 10 toys in the 30x18x18 cage, 4 of which are shredding toys. I am going to make my own foraging toys. I have 5 natural perches and one platform. What do you think?

i have got 2 budgies and a flight cage and is it ok that i feed them seed mix and carrots and broc! plzzz someone answer and im getting milit because i just got them and i need to train and tame them cuz they wont let me near them :(
@fatimah34634 жыл бұрын
You need to convert them to pellets !
@iixsarchiq24 жыл бұрын
Well it's just normal that they don't know u that much, since they're just new to you. But u could still train them and tame them, once they already get the hang of knowing you/if they already know u for a long time. By the way, I have no answer for the food, but veggies are fine with birds. And also fruits. I just don't know if it's ok to mix them all
