Same!! I was almost 20 when I started following them, I was so invested! I remember walking back and forth to my bedroom to see if Rocktard had been born yet, I didn’t have a smartphone back then 😆 I’m 31 now and I feel like a distant cousin or aunt they never met haha. (To be honest- I feel like I have more connection to them than to my own family that lives 20 min away. I’m on the other side of the world 🤯)

I named my daughter after Emmi. Her name is technically Emmerson we call her Emmi and spell it with an i. I wanted to just do Emmi but my husband preferred it as a "nickname" so I came up with Emmerson.

I did not expect to cry?? The old vlogs are already nostalgic enough, but watching older you react to them just really hits different lol. You really could choose to react anyway to your dad putting your entire childhood on the internet, and you react with so much fondness and grace. I will always hold your family in such a special place in my heart. As a teenager watching the shaytards, your family was so comforting and felt like an escape from my own. I first watched Shaytards when I was in third grade or fourth grade and now I’m a junior in high school. I still remember the birth vlogs of BOTH blogs and the feeling of EVERY Christmas being so excited to watch the yearly special video. Genuinely felt like I was a part of your family, and you don’t even know me.

My absolute favorite memory is when Shay told Gavin to do a worm in a store/shopping mall. Gavin was so hesitant, but Shay just told him to do it. I think that's where he got all that confidence to sing and perform in general, when Shay just encouraged him to do all this stuff in public. I just love your family, you guys have put a smile on my face so many times during these years.

This is so crazy to see you all grown up! Vlogging is so weird, I have all these memories of your life that you don't remember and we don't even know eachother. That tire swing in the back yard, you, Emmi, and tour dad went to a tire shop to get that tire and your dad put that up for you guys. I was in my early 20s when that came out and I didn't have kids yet, but I wanted to have my own family have the same love and support your family had. Thank you for the memories!

I love this so much. Great memories. I've been watching the Shaytards vlogs almost since day one and I just wanna say how proud I am of not only you but everyone in your family. You've all matured and grown so much throughout this process, and you've become and examplary young woman. If you wonder why we like watching you react to old videos is mostly because Old Shaytard vlogs give us a relaxing feeling and seeing you react to videos we know but you have forgotten is also fun to watch. The one that I watch constantly is “Shay jumps off of Balcony” vlog and it starts off with Collete picking up Shay from the airport and secretly take him to his birthday cabin but why I mention this vlog is the part where shay asks you when you get to be a teenager to please never lie to him and you promise him in the video that you will always tell him the truth if it’s something you’re supposed to tell him now fast forward to 2022 and you’ve become this wonderful young lady who doesn’t lie to her father and makes me happy. I started watching the shaytards vlogs when you guys lived in California and mommytard was a fitness instructor. I grew up in a very small family and it was not fun to have just one sibling. My mom and dad were never home, I would escape in y’all’s videos and feel “a part” of a family. Watching the Christmas specials because my parents worked through Christmas and weren’t home. I am now a 27 year old woman with 4 kids. I think the vlogs really inspired me to live authentically as a mom. Have all the baby’s I ever wanted. Know that success was still possible with a large family and that everyone could be happy and loved. I know vlog my experiences to look back at. It’s really cool to see your perspective of the videos as you’ve gotten older. Thank you for sharing.❤

Hi avia, i’ve been watching you guys from literally the beginning. Back in 2008 philip de franco had a meet up in santa monica beach, green eyed world was there, kassemg even interviewed me for his video that day, i went there with my mom because i didn’t really have any friends that was into youtube back then. I was a sophomore. So i made my mom take me because i wanted to meet phil. We lived in glendale back then. Thats where i met shay and i thought he was really funny and i started watching his videos from there. I’ve always loved seeing you in the videos and seeing your personality develop into who you are now. You were always such a go-getter even as a little kid and im not surprised that you’re doing an amazing job with your youtube channel and all the other things you were doing.
