I'm in a same-sex marriage and I find absolutely no offense in how you stated Islam's views on homosexuality. My wife and I both value respect above all, and I feel that you were incredibly respectful. What is disrespectful is for people to push their expectations on a belief that isn't there. Many of the best, kindest, and most genuine people I've ever met have been Muslim. I'm not religious, but I love learning about different religions and cultures, so I love your videos, and you two have my respect for standing firm in what you believe.

You're very welcome. Remember You're in no obligation to accept Islam, if it makes you uncomfortable. Islam teaches us Muslims that its unfair, for us to keep Islam a secret. So we're taught to share it with the world, whether or not they accept it we get rewarded for it. But it would be a sin for us to force it down your throat, or even persuade or sugar coat things. It's not about being siblings its about having similar genetic material. That is why it is looked down upon in the west, because the offspring produced has a higher probability of getting a rare genetic disease due to two recessive genes that cause the disease found in the baby. Since the genetic material with your cousins matches a lot, the probability of pairing of recessive genes(whose characteristics only show up when recessive pairs with recessive) that cause the rare disease is a lot higher. So yeah.

It’s only allowed in Islam. Not mandatory or even recommended. I believe one reason for that is because there are societies that can’t continue without cousin marriage because the population is so small

Yeah, as the other comment said, there is no mandatory cousin marriage. It is permissable, but you cant just look at halal/haram when making a life decision. Cousin marriages, over many generations is directly harmful. We are not to do what harms others. And if a cousin marriage dont have overwhelming benefit, why not choose a lower risk spouse 😅 Its like taking a second wife just cause its halal, even if it ruins your first marriage and gives you a whole lot of trouble. Yes its permissable, but think things through

In imperial China, cousin marriages were permitted as long as they didn't share a family name. So you can marry the child of any aunt or any maternal uncle, but you cannot marry the child of your paternal uncle, or any distant relatives who share the same patrilineage. Because a family line is passed down through the father, so your mother's side doesn't count as true family where you function as a unit. At most you're an alliance.

i understand why the last one is painful for adopted people. most adopted children (regardless of age of adoption) won't be breastfed, and a lot of children are adopted after the age of two (sometimes it is because the process is long!, sometimes because not everyone is orphaned or abandoned before that age). It would be cruel for a male child to know there is an arbitrary date when it is the last time they will ever see their mom's face. It's fine that you guys are just informing islam's position on the matter (and no hate should be directed at you personally! it's not like you guys made it up), but it does mean that a lot of children that are orphans or abandoned won't have an equitable relationship as adopted children in a society where everyone followed those rules.

The problem with the homosexuality thing is that many Islamic countries and societies have extremely harsh views on ex Muslims and LGBT people. If Islam just said that “hey, homosexuality is not allowed in our faith” that would be fine, but actively making laws so that people who aren’t Muslim are forced to comply to the laws of Islam is where I take issue. It is the same thing with Christianity and abortion/gay rights here in the states.

As an LGBT person I have no issue with your representation of Islam's view of homosexuality. Anyone may have whatever views they like as long as you respect the dignity and person hood of everyone. Where I would take issue is if (hypothetically) someone used their religion as a justification for campaigning against the rights of all LGBT people. This is very common for evangelical Christians in the US.

First of all, I'd like to make it clear that I am not Muslim, so take everything I say with a big grain of salt. I think in that case they can chose what gendered rules they want to follow. Also, ninja mommy did a video about who can see her without a hijab, and she said intersex people can, if they identify as women. As far as I know there are no special rules regarding intersex people.

I'm an adoptive mom of four kids. I don't see why anyone was doing backlash about the adoption comment. It was very clearly stated that yes if they're under too in breastfed know if they're not. But I don't see why everyone is flipping out. With that being a rule I doubt very many women who wear the veil are going to adopt boys over two and to be even easier they could just adopt a female.

I have a question? Trying to learn about Islam here. It seems like a lot of practices in islam (praying and worship in general) takes physical activity. What happens when a muslim is disabled and can not get down to pray or make a pilgrimage to Mecca? In my mosque they have lots of chairs in the middle and the front and they're also scattered around random places too for disabled people too sit on so they can pray.

You can find another way to pray. For example, if you are unable to stand, you can sit, if you are unable to sit you can lie. And many other things, for example, if you're stranded on an island without any food and are about to die of hunger, you can eat pork, because, ALLAH knows your situation and your intention.

I'm so sorry you guys had to deal with hateful comments. However the fact remains you have to treat all children you promise to care for equally. Whether they are blood or adopted it doesn't matter. So covering your face in front of your ADOPTED child if you adopted them after the age of 2, I'm sorry but thats not justifyable. As a Catholic I say the Christian churches can't use the bible to justify Islamiphobia or racism. At the same time no Muslim ought to use the Quran to justify favortism or abuse. @@5ive-5tar I've never heard that the prophet told them to stop. From my understanding it sounded like he didn't mind and that everyone celebrated. But to be honest, I am not a scholar so I dont know 100%. I agree that some music is haram, but not all. I've been taught that music that has swear words, haram things basically are the things we shouldn't listen to. I've heard some people argue about that some instruments are halal and rest are haram. But I personally don't agree (like alot of people) with that. Because music is music its just sounds. There is no difference between for example a drum and piano. Its harmless. Whats harmful is the words that accompy songs and the environment they are used in (eg. Clubs). So my gut/ intuition/ understanding of this is that if music is not violent, not objectivity women, not sexual, not glorifying haram things like drinking etc... that its halal to listen to. But again alot of people disagree. It really depends on how you approach following Allah's orders and your philosophy. I mean it is argued about frequently for a reason because both sides of the argument have good points. So just like alot of things, set your intentions right and follow your gut feeling on whats feels right and wrong. Because at the end of the day, its between you and Allah and you have to do what feels right to you when judgemental day comes.

Love your videos! I would be super interested to know what Islam's view on transgender identities is. Like if someone identifies as non-binary (neither man nor woman) how would the rules around the niqab work?

I would love to hear their point of view as well! But from my understanding, Islam doesn't have that POV? Like gender is associated with sex and so if you are born a woman, you can wear the hijab/niqab. The idea of gender identity (like western society definition) doesn't exist in Islamic perspective. So if it doesn't exist, it kinda has no opinion on the topic. It just clashes with fundamental concepts of islam, like God doesn't make any mistakes, and you are what you are (so preaching self acceptance more). At least that my knowledge and understanding.

So its basically like, if you choose to be identified as non-binary, you still have been born a girl/boy and in Islam it is our belief that God knows best. Everything He does is for a reason. This includes the gender you have been born as. So basically, if you're born female, but you choose to identify as gender fluid, all the rules that normal women have to follow will be applied to you too. I am no scholar however, just a normal Muslim teen, and i could be wrong about some stuff. If you really wish to learn about this, i would strongly suggest searching up scholars such as Dr zakir Naik. I believe he did talk about something along these lines in one of his question answer sessions. Its very interesting to listen!

If you are born with no gender organs (imma use that term because I'm a child and I don't wanna use the other terms) I'm pretty sure you wouldn't really have the gender rules?- idk. But if you just identify as a non-binary you'd have the rules of the gender you're born with. If you're trans, and haven't done the surgery, you'd also identify with the rules of the gender you're born with. Plus, trans muslims don't exist, unless they are born with both gender organs or both male and female chractaristics, or born with none, because ALLAH knows your reasons.

My assumption always is that in the west at least due to freedom of religion js that most Muslim women I meet chose this herself, weird that's some ppls first thought. Like maybe in a country like Saudi Arabia or Iran can you assume that, but even then is it really your business unless that girl reaches out to you?

To adopt a child and commit to wearing niqab even within your home to love and provide for them seems like such an act of love and devotion. Because it may be difficult for that child, it's best to limit situations where this happens, yet still an act of love.

Yes this is why Western Christian-majority/secular countries have some of the highest adoption rates. It's not an act of love if it's cruel to a child.

i'm not muslim at all, but i do like your videos a lot, you are both very funny, eye catching and easy to watch, very talented, good job! i laughed at all of this...but i've gotta say that the last one got me too. no judging here, just trying to understand....are you saying that in muslim culture, people believe that for god it's more important for you to cover your face then to help a child by adopting him? of course, you cannot treat your children differently, so it's better not to adopt at all.....but how could the face veil be more important than this? I believe that God ( however you perceive it) always puts love before anything else. That's what i don't understand, when someone would think that for god it's anything more important than love. Love and do whatever you want. All else it's your choice. But that's where i think extremism takes over. No hate, absolutely no hate. Just a thought.

I love the Muslim religion and I actually made a character from my soon to be web comic Muslim because I found it so interesting but I think the thing about homosexuality offends so many people because it’s something out of the persons control and it feels similar to if someone said that they don’t like your religion and don’t think you should pray.
