People seem to mistake Taylor being a nice person with her being a push over. She's no push over. She knows that life can be nasty, and she can clap back. She's not weak. She's smart. She's really nice. But she's no push over.
@megandelynn611411 ай бұрын
IMO she's kind not nice (to me being "nice" is an act. Being kind is your character). People mistake kindness for weakness & Tay is genius at showing them EXACTLY how mistaken they are!
@davisfinney752611 ай бұрын
I think that people think she is a pushover, because she lets a lot slide out of fairness and kindness and because she is very gracious. She understands the hardship of life and the mistakes people make and will do the most to excuse and see the best in people, giving them extra chances. BUT, when you cross a line and do something inexcusable, she lets people know how she feels. She won't pull punches for people who have no remorse for the harm they cause.

Are you trying to say, "Never be so polite you forget your power. Never wield such power, you forget to be polite."? 😢 (For those who don't know, that's part of the lyrics to "marjorie" on the album "evermore", which is about her grandmother, Marjorie who was an opera singer)

I love how you recognize that this is Taylor Swift taking control of her life again. The amount of things she had to deal with between The 1989 era and this is insane. The fighting with kimye was the least of her problems she also went through: 1. Ok the cancelled thing with the snakes 2. Her mother having brain cancer 3. Learned how to dance because people criticized her for not doing it. (If you watch her music videos, you can catch Todrick Hall in them. He's the Broadway star giving her dancing lessons and he calls her a really hard worker) 4. She kicked an eating disorder. She talks about it in Miss Americana. If you watch Rep and then 1989, it's so obvious how sick she was. 5. She won the lawsuit against the d!ckhead who put his hand where it didn't belong. She addressed it in on tour that she was in court a year ago. There were 7 eyewitnesses and they had it on film. She won. 6. Obviously, she wrote the album and the tour. 7. She fell in love with Joe Alwyn. They've broken up now but it explains how this album is half revenge and half love songs! Any one of those things would send a lot of people to a very dark place but that shot at the very beginning of the tour where someone puts her hood on and she just cocks her head back? She's looking like a prize fighter and her haters seem to have messed with the wrong woman.

Welcome to Taylor. She is way deeper than people realize. People who say “oh she just sings about her ex’s.” DO NOT listen to her music. She has so many layers. She is kind but no pushover. She is smart and really knows business, the press and the music industry. When people try to take her down she will always come back stronger.

Taylor always does a big production. Taylor was interested in musical theater before she started singing.

My favorite part about Taylor's music is that no matter the song, she writes about universal feelings. Anyone can listen to it and find one song that they relate to emotionally.
@bryandaves100510 ай бұрын
The greatest artists are emotionally vulnerable. It allows them to be a conduit for the universal truths. Taylor is able to connect with your heart because she is an empath. I can’t begin to imagine being an empath living the life she lives. I would crumble under the scrutiny and yet she turns it on it’s head and owns it. She’s a special human

Taylor has been misrepresented by media and detractors for years. She’s not 16 anymore & she was good then. Now, she’s changing the music industry in ways that benefit every artist because she has had to fight the BS her entire career. People are playing checkers and she’s playing chess. The way she writes her music, visualizes it and tells the story on stage is all her. She is the true mastermind. People always underestimate her.

@@ameliadavis1979 Not necessarily. I'm talking specifically about his interpretation of it, not the performance itself. Too many people just think about who the song was written about or what Taylor was writing it for & I think it's a really good thing for people to hear a new fans interpretation and applying it to the themselves without having to know the history of who Taylor wrote it about. If one never wants to hear new ideas, one can never truly grow IMO. If you already feel the empowerment mindset from this song that's great! However, please don't speak for all Swifties as a lot of them could benefit from hearing a message of empowerment and self-confidence don't you agree?

Speaking of Arya Stark, Taylor was inspired by Game of Thrones when creating the Reputation album. She loves Maisie (played Arya) and she's close friends with Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark). So you definitely understood this song.

In her defense of being "mister Roger's neighborhood" the slow roll into her becoming a woman left her so much room to grow and change every album cycle and it's why we want more and more of her, she didn't give it up at 17 like so many young popstars who then struggle going into their 30s. She established her musical talent first and then she explored the sexy dark side as a part of her, not the primary image

More people need to watch this reaction! ❤ This is why Tay is a good role model for all ages of women. Music is powerful with the words and rhythms. When a person sings the lyrics(her stories) over and over they begin to build new neurological pathways in their own life. Swifties don’t just love her, they/we are in love with her, not in a creepy way. She’s a voice for us, men and women. Her stories reach us deep with our own experiences and we connect with her like she’s one of us. Now watching her fall in love and experience her life with her fans she’s a true artist to admire. Funny you mention Arya Stark. According to Taylor, part of her inspiration for the song is the scene in season 7(?) in GOT when Sansa and Arya team up against Littlefinger and expose him. Another GOT fun fact: In Taylor’s song Look What You Made Me Do, the line, “I got a list of names, and yours is in red, underlined” was inspired by Arya Stark.😊
