I love that so far Taylor has been able to get all the same artists to re-record the Taylor's versions of her songs with her. Even the Civil Wars, who split up in 2014, came back for the re-record of Safe & Sound even though they are credited individually now.

So...the music video for The Last Time actually cuts out a decent chunk of the song. There's a guitar instrumental section and the best part of the song is also taken out where it alternates between Gary and Taylor. I agree with several of the suggestions listed here but as an outlier I would add Taylor’s cover of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow by Carol King. Taylor sang it at Carol’s 2021 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The video is on You tube ( sorry I’m awful at doing links).The fact that Carol, one of the most prolific songwriters of the 60-70’s, had Taylor, this generation’s most prolific female writer, honor her speaks volumes of how much she regards Taylor’s talent. They are both songwriters first & foremost. Carol was my favorite songwriter/singer growing up & Taylor is able to match her talent, imho. 10:14 I think there’s a tenderness to this song of like a boy who feels like he doesn’t deserve this girl who has laid himself bare and she just completely accepts him. And she says in her verse something about how HE thinks that what “makes a king is gold, a palace, and diamond rings” but she saw the best in him even without all that. For Taylor ‘s first two albums, debut and fearless. There are her official music videos, and then there are behind the scenes/the making of. For example, you can watch the Ours music radio and then there is a behind-the-scenes clip. Like I said, this is the case for multiple songs/music videos from her first two albums, Taylor, Swift, and fearless. Also, there is a Def Leppard/Taylor Swift crossover concert films/DVD that you could react to filmed for CMT. I have the dvd. I’m not sure if the full video is on KZbin, but if not, there’s definitely the individual songs that you could react to those videos. If you just look up the set list, you could look at beach performance in order. I love The Joker and the Queen, but I actually prefer Ed’s original version of the lyrics. Wouldn’t have worked as well as a duet or for the video though. I don’t see it as sad, more like a gentle love song by someone reflecting on how lucky he feels to be with the person he’s with. Like he believes she could have been with anyone she wanted and she chose him. It’s really sweet. And the metaphor around playing cards is just beautifully executed. And it’s almost like he’s whispering it in her ear. It’s one of my favourites from Ed. Happy New Year!

oh i am SO glad you loved The Last Time-this is an underrated all-time favorite of me, definitely one of the strong contributors of Red being my favorite album of hers. it's SO good; it's truly a perfect song. you probably know Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol as people have said, but on the off chance you haven't listen to Chasing Cars at the very least. have you watched Begin Again? would love a reaction to the music video!! and not Taylor, but would LOVE more Chappell Roan in the new year :)

Finally! You reviewed my favorite song "The Last Time" - which I recommended months and months ago to you (under a different username)! One of my faves...I thought you would like it. Can't recall if you've listened to the Safe & Sound video yet (from Hunger Games) - but that's another good one that sounds a bit haunting. And you definitely know Gary LIghtbody - he is the lead singer of Snow Patrol! ;) Editing to add that you should review some of Snow Patrol's old hits - Chasing Cars used to be one of my faves.
