Glad to see competitive Mario Kart 7 get some exposure! I've been playing that game for years and always felt like it was by far the most underrated of the recent entries. Of course it has a smaller community and underdeveloped mods as a result but it's still active and has just as much depth and interesting mechanics, so I wish it got the love it deserves.

This Mario Kart was my Teenage Game. Mario kart DS was my childhood game (sadly never owned a wii) but Mario Kart 7 is so much better than DS. But playing Mario kart DS with friends local as a child was one of the best things. Im so broken that Nintendo doesnt release a new Mario Kart. Im playing MK8 since nearly fcking 8 years Man.... Its insane -.- Mario Kart always has a special place in my heart, even Im a massive Zelda, Half Life Alyx (the first time I cried in my life because of happiness, this experience is INSANE) and Mario in Generel Fan, (and CoD but thats shit since BO3) Mario Kart is something I hope I can play till Im old. Its sooooo much fun this series.

Awesome video Troy! Glad to see you taking a look at all the new shortcuts discovered in Mk7 as of recently! MkWilliam pioneered a lot of stuff involving making RR Glitch faster. I actually helped him a lot in refining the driving around the course enough to edge out Endo's No-Glitch TAS by about .1 or so. Hope to see you do more Mk7 related stuff in the future :)

This is an awesome video Troy! Happy to see the community I call home get some love! To clarify a few things you mentioned in the video, just about every strat you see in the video is done in RTA runs. The exceptions to this are the first Airship Fortress glitch, the Dino Dino Jungle wall ride, the second half of the Mario Circuit 2 wall ride, the big skip on section 1 of Rainbow Road, and the Coconut Mall skip (because it doesn't actually save time). We also don't have proper tool assist tools yet, so it's all just brute force to get these tricks to work.

I remember an offhand comment in one of your videos about someone pulling off the mushroom gorge gap jump without a glider in Mario Kart 7. The search for that led me into a Mario Kart 7 TAS shortcut rabbit hole which I don't regret entering. Glad you're finally making a video about it, these shortcuts are sick (metaphorically).

I think that the “twist” to Mario Kart 9 might be all the characters that were in Mario Kart before will return and maybe the addition of more cross-over Nintendo characters. My guess for who those characters might be is Captain Falcon, Samus, Sonic (because Mario and Sonic), Kirby, the rabbids, Zelda, and/or Ganondorf. Could be a stretch but I can definitely see one of these characters crossing over.

MK7 is still my personal favorite Mario Kart, and the one I spent a lot of hours time trialing on. I never was in WR contention but I managed to beat ex WRs on a few tracks by the time I stopped playing the game. Btw the Maple Treeway turn skip you were wondering about, people usually do it online ( in lounge wars rather) with mushrooms. It's much too difficult to do shroomless with the online combo

I played mario kart 7 recently and I forgot how much fun it was. I really enjoyed this video and I hope u do more of these! oh and btw I thought if woud be cool if u made this a mini series and do every mario kart, or u can just do a select few. I recommend that you do mkds or mksc/mario kart short cut :) (and maybe mk64 aswell)

What a surprise. I wasn’t expecting MK7 content today but I like this idea. Btw, every single MK always has a new twist but I do hope the leaker actually means an actual big twist. First of all, I want the score system from Tour to be an extra mode. Because the Tour idea is cool just that…well it’s Tour. Speaking of shortcuts, I want the next MK game to be focused on shortcuts. We know there are off-road shortcuts and trick shortcuts, but what about item-specific ones? No, not just from power items. So what if they add the mini mushroom from the New Super Mario Bros series so you can use it exclusively to do shortcuts kinda like you use the tiny pipes in NSMB. Or use it to run on water. What if the mega mushroom can be the only one that can break big bricks? What if you can use the propeller mushroom to activate a glider out of nowhere? It would open so many unintended shortcuts opportunities that were lacking in MK8. Of course the devs will have to make sure it’s not all broken but the idea is there. A crazy idea for sure

I remember when, back in Mario Kart DS, DK Pass had the secret item box, and it didn't matter if you were in first place, last place, or doing a time trial, you could get some mushrooms or even a star lol. I don't know if that was intended by the devs, but it was pretty fun to use.

This is kind of like the lost MK game to me. Never played it, haven't seen much content for it. Would definitely enjoy more react content. Ideas could include 'history of' videos made by others whether for MK games or other kart racers (e.g. Crash team racing). Or reacts to just some time trials/TAS from other games would be great too. I think the floundering fish has us covered on the MKWii time trial front at least.

I think they will bring back double dash as a game mode and that you can flip upside down in your cart. So there are 2 ways to play the track. One normally and one upside down. And you can switch between the 2

Few missing things from here, Dino Dino Jungle has a respawn glitch that is used in tt wrs and tases, mario circuit 2 has a slower respawn glitch and some weird glider trick where you fly over the OOB section and its insane though neither are considered glitches, there was a daisy cruiser glitch that was used in between the period of the one you used and the one currently used, coconut malls is slower and there isnt much effort being put into making it faster and finally you missed a bunch of tracks (koopa cape, bowsers castle 1, mushroom gorge, neo bowser city and hopefully soon there will be a rosalina's ice world one though i was hoping william could get it and hoard it till christmas day but its so precise no one has gotten it on tas yet [edit: RIW won’t happen])
