@@vaquishers Well maybe they would be married (or at least an agreement was made) BUT those marriages were rarely consummated right away, mostly due to the fact that a literal child having to go through a pregnancy wasn't ideal. Granted, they were german and danish ladies, not english, but I doubt that makes much of a difference.

Not sure if you want it but here's some disturbing context. Even though it seems like Kathrine is an adult by the end of the song, she was actually beheaded at 17. She never even got to be an adult. This becomes even worse when you know Thomas (the courtier) was a serial rapist; Kathrine was beheaded for being sexually assualted by him as it was deemed unfaithful. Kathrine Howard was preyed upon by old men all her life and only knew abuse. By 9 she'd lived over half her life. Her life was horrific.

While with Anne Boyeln (hope its spelled right) and her be head ment was with a trained swordsman from France who got the head off in a clean blow. Katherine and Anne are direct 1st cousins and they are both second cousins to Jane Seymour. Catherine of Aragon is Catherine parr's godmother and Catherine Parr married Thomas Seymour Jane's brother. actual fun fact Katherine Howard was the lady in waiting for Anna of Cleves and they got along pretty well. Some not so fun facts: •This one is wholesome! K Howard loved animals, especially dogs! • She actually had 2 music teachers but fortunately Mannox is the only one who groomed her not whoever the other one is. •She had fake friends who influenced her •Her mother died when she was 5 and her dad when she was 15. Her uncle, Duke of Norfolk was the one who allowed her to marry Henry VIII and got her the job at court, not her father. • She’s Anne Boleyn’s first cousin and Jane’s distant cousin (their grandmothers were sisters) • Elizabeth (Anne’s daughter) was super close to Katherine since they were second cousins • Thomas didn’t only rape her. He blackmailed her and Lady Rochford (Anne’s sister in law) arranged those meetings. • When she was sentenced to be beheaded she ran down the halls of the Hampton court palace and screamed her innocence, begging to be spared. It’s said that she still haunts those halls reliving that traumatic moment. •She was manhandled into the cart the took her to the Tower of London where she passed through traitor’s gate and saw the heads of Francis Dereham and Thomas Culpepper. Thomas was also beheaded and Francis was hanged, drawn and quartered (correct me if I’m wrong cause I forgot what the second word is). • She practiced all night laying her head on the chopping block that was brought to her at her request. She wanted to look perfect • She had to be held up because her legs kept giving away since she was so terrified that day and she had to basically be carried up the scaffolding. • Henry hired an amateur as her executioner to behead her, with an axe, which shows how little respect he had for her. Anne’s executioner was an experienced swordsman from France which showed Henry had at least some respect. • All of her family was arrested except her uncle, Duke of Norfolk.

I just can’t get over how people think Francis Dereham never saw her again or interacted with her again. He came back to haunt her while she was with H*nry, and solidified her beheading. When they first got together, Dereham was the Dowager Duchess’ secretary, so when another worker caught wind of their affair, the DD shipped Dereham off to Ireland to silence him by giving him a good job there and katherine left. When katherine was queen, Dereham came back to court, demanding to be placed by the DD, so she did. He had an ok job, but he bragged to everyone and anyone of the illicit affair him and the queen had when they were younger. Word got to one of the men closest to the king, and that coupled with Thomas at the same time meant the only answer to H*nry was death. There’s also speculation that Mannox wrote Dereham a letter telling him that Katherine was queen before he came back from Ireland.

the song was about Katherine Howard the 5th wife of Henry the 8th, she married him at 17 and was beheaded at 19... She didn't really have a good childhood and was sexualised throughout, that's why the song had some childish lyrics like "enoughsies" and " birds and the bees" because she was still a child but had to act like an adult and do all of these things. She never knew the feeling of someone loving her for her instead of her body. She was beheaded for supposedly cheating/sleeping around but in reality Henry was doing the same and she was unable to have a boy, Henry also had fallen for Catherine Parr his final wife before his death. P.s fun fact, not so fun fact the Thomas she mentions after Henry was her cousin/ relative

Ok, here we go for those who are new to the SIX fandom or are just here and think it’s a cool song. Henry Manox verse: So basically, ‘taught me all about dynamics’ is a term in music for basically, the force such as loud or quiet. Now the definition is “the branch of mechanics concerned with the motion of bodies under the action of forces” so this could either mean he was teaching her all about how to use the piano in terms of the fingers and how much pressure Howard was putting on them, or it could have been a more…sexual sort of approach. So ye, that’s that for dynamics 😀👍 Also, Manox wasnt 23, there was a 23 age gap in between them, making Howard 13 and him 36 :’D Now “strumming the lute” kinda makes sense, but in the general terms of the meanings behind the song, I’m guessing it’s something related to the meaning behind dynamics or such. But “striking the chords”, uh- let’s just say u make a sound when u enjoy something a lot.. and don’t forget, “blowing the flute”. That’s- I think u can work it out for yourself…. Oh and “Plucked my strings all the way to G, went from Major to Minor- C to D” so all the way to G, that’s a high note right? So high body parts? Idk this one very well actually but that’s what I’ve seen. However one theory is that from “Major to Minor” basically means Manox to Howard, as he was sort of a major and obviously Katherine was a minor. Now “C to D”. That’s ..ok so if means the female body part to the male body part, OR it could be Catherine (cause u can spell it Catherine or Katherine, but it is represented as ‘K’ in the show) to well- again, the male body part. K imma stop this verse here. Francis Dereham verse: So “Gets what he wants and he won’t take no” is in short, referring how to he wouldn’t take no as an answer even if Howard didn’t want to have…the sexuals we could say.. Now, “Passion in all that he touches” is basically her ‘private parts’ as we sometimes call them lol (I’m no saying it cause KZbin could ban me as their new policy is a bit stricter T-T) “Helped him in his office, had a duty to fulfil” Guess what? That’s sexual interaction too!! Yup. “He even let me use his favourite quill” that’s his Di- and that’s his ‘favourite thing’ basically. “Spilled ink all over the parchment” is saying that Dereham got a bit too excited…oh, and the ‘ink” would be white, not black 😀👏 “My wrist was so tired” that’s what happens when you help with his di-…anyways, that’s it for Dereham verse, but they actually had a cool relationship cause they really liked each other it’s shown in History, but Manox found out, told the ‘Dowager Duchess’ aka Katherine’s grandmother about what’s been happening, and got them sent away from each other. Tell me if I’ve missed anything! Henry VIII verse: Well, obviously Howard didn’t love him cause she was only 17-19 and he was like 46 (correct me If I’m wrong pls lol) so…yeah… also, we all know that Katherine wouldn’t be with an obese ‘monster’ as some people refer him to. And soon, she ‘met’ Thomas and he was actually her cousin! And then she got beheaded at 19 :’( Thomas Culpeper verse: So, this is really sad tbh. So as soon as Howard got married, she met a guy names Thomas (not Seymour’s brother tho) and she really liked him- AS A FRIEND. Or did she only like him as a friend? We don’t actually know, believe it or not! They could of had a sexual relationship, but it doesn’t seem like it. Anyway, she liked him. Now obviously, they probably did a sort of sexual interaction cause men didn’t go around saying “we have a connection” to random mistresses lol. I mean they could have, but it was unlikely. However, they probably did, which is sad cause 1: He’s her cousin. 2: Katherine only wanted a friend, not a lover, and 3: she was actually cousins to Anne Boleyn too! Runs in the family I guess ;-; But then she got found with Culpeper and she got reported for treason and ‘plotting or going against the king’ and then she got beheaded. As Katherine Howard was going down towards the block, she kept collapsing and fainting and to top it all of, the heads of Manox and Culpeper (or was it Dereham? I can’t remember lol) we’re on spikes to make herself even more scared than she already was. She actually had to have at least 2 people hold her up because she couldn’t walk. And the night and nights before, she would request a wooden block to practise. However, Henry hired an inexperienced Axeman, so he got the axe stuck in her back first, for an hour or so, then her head, so it was very messy. Katherine only ever wanted a friend, she loved dogs, reading, writing ext and music- which led her down the dark path but oh well u could say, we wouldn’t be here now if it wasn’t for her

Also when Henry married Katherine she was maybe 15-16, younger than his oldest daughter, Mary, and he was at least mid 40s. Grossed out yet?

This song is catchy but it’s also about a 13 year old girl being ‘taken’ by a man before she is even suppose to know what being an adult means. England back in the early era was full of bad stuff.

And this is why I vote her to be the lead singer of the band. In my opinion at least, of all the girls she had the worst deal of them all. Sexually abused from a very young age, forced to marry the king and then beheaded for something she didn't even want to do. Anne may also have been beheaded...but in her case it was due to her own actions.
@Rubyskies Жыл бұрын
While I agree that K Howard had it the worst, the musical doesn't really portray Anne correctly (A fact they admitted to; If I'm not incorrect, they stated they regretted writing her the way they did) King Henry wanted to marry Jane, so he had to get rid of Anne. Supposedly he lied about her having an affair so as to have her beheaded. Obviously we don't know for sure the exacts of what happened, but it's heavily believed that this is what happened (People couldn't exactly question the king, and there was never any evidence that she actually did anything) So in actual history, it wasn't Anne's actions that got her beheaded, it was an evil man who would do anything to get his way. However, if you just meant in the musical itself, yeah no. You're right. Sorry for the long reply! I just recently researched all of the history behind this and wanted to clear that up.
