I once had a transphobe ask me which bathroom I use at school, and since we're in lockdown I said "The one at my house. We're in lockdown." so he responded with "Well which bathroom would you use if you were at school." and this guy couldn't fathom the fact that my school has a gender neutral bathroom for the gender neutral students, and that I also can do this magical thing known as remembering to go at home before school, so I don't have to while I'm there. The average cis person who probably doesn't (to their knowledge) know any trans people just doesn't think about trans issues enough to have a strong opinion; maybe they passively "go along to get along," in one direction or another, but they ultimately don't care. The school she went to is actually just an hour away from me and they’re one of the most lgbt+ friendly schools. They have a whole medical clinic just for lgbt+ people where medical students can learn more about treating different diverse groups. I am intersexed, it is how I was born, XX/XY chromosomes. It is not a "genetic defect" 1 in every roughly two thousand people are some form of intersexed. People get caught out and the other options are going into the women's rest rooms or asking someone else for them and if a guy's not out to the people around him at the time them, yeah, those aren't good options.

A free advice tho: you should say trans women, not transwomen, bc trans is an adjective, like, you wouldn't say blondewomen right? When I was in highschool, due to the layout of the whole building they had to make all bathrooms gender neutral (because if it wasn't you'd have to cross the whole school to pee), so there was a few stalls, an urinal corner and a box with pads and tampons. It was neat, and people never complained about it! I think this is the best solution to be inclusive regardless of gender
