This adds continuation to the story. These are an Ultramarines chapter and the one who is speaking, is Roboute Guilliman, their Primarch, who has just returned from a coma to find the imperium in this sorry state. They are fighting the new antagonist in this story arc, the Tyrannids. Not much is known about them, how many they are, where are they coming from. There are rumors that these are just a tyrannid scouting party and their main force is about to come.

Each tyrannid invasion has came from different directions in the Milky Way galaxy. The first came from the eastern, others have came from southern and northern. This newest one, is coming from the western fringe, closest to Terra (Earth). That is why there is strong evidence that they have the Milky Way surrounded and these are just early scouting hives.

This son of Leman Russ welcomes you to the grimdark 🤘🐺 Side Note: "Julius Caesar" is Roboute Guilluman, the Emperor's 13th son and Primarch of the Ultramarines (a.k.a. the blueberry boys) and he is also the active supreme commander for the Imperium at large. The night this video came out they also announced Lion El'Jonson is returning making the second loyalist primarch to return and the 5th overall. An amazing introduction to the setting and lore I'd recommend the Eisenhorn Books. They are older at this point but still very good. To answer your question just in few words : this is the "present" lore, by that I mean those events are the newest in the current story of that universe, happening in the year 42 000 (or so) of our era. Those aliens are the Tyrannids, they litteraly came from another galaxy, they basicaly invade planets, destroying anything that could possibly resist them, and once done, they use gigantic "organic towers" to digest every single organic thing they can find. Basicaly, oceans, forest, all life forms are eaten, taken to their living space ships and when they leave the planet is a lifeless rock. Their numbers are so over the top that it's been almost impossible to stop them and it only happened in few occasions. The human faction is called "The Imperium" and it would be difficult to answer you without making a very long comment so just type "Warhammer 40K lore" in youtube, you will find plenty of answers.

Definitely don't want to spam your comment section.. but to answer your question this is set rough date 41,000 they very slowly move the story and date forward in 40k. Various books/audiobooks will fill in the story These particular two 'factions' are the Space Marines - mankinds supersoldiers basically who are elite but very few in number and these Aliens are Tyranids and effectively endless swarm that they are constantly trying to keep at bay (though humans did win a victory at Baal as he mentions in his speech). Guilliman the current 'leader' of mankind (Cesar as you called him!) is making this point that everyone is trying to make it seem positive when actually its an essentially impossible scenario with Tyranids just being one of many enemies wanting to destroy them. Final point this is not a trailer for ANY video game - this is for the next edition of the tabletop game! As in they release new models etc each edition every couple of years, there will be loads of games/books/audio around it but this isn't specifically against any. Yes i'm a warhammer nerd lol.

@@thegeekentry in terms of books to get into it, I’d recommend the dark imperium trilogy or the eisenhorn trilogy, they’re generally a good place to start, alternatively there’s the Horus heresy series which is 60 books long but deals with the 31st millennium though I’d probably leave that alone for now. As for the tabletop, tenth edition seems to be simplified but not simple and the new rules are going to be free, however it still requires buying a lot of minis that can be expensive in the amount needed.

This is a trailer for Warhammer 40,000 tenth edition, the toy soldiers game that Darktide is based on. This trailer is very high level, Darktide is very low level, small-scale stuff. So "Julius Caesar" is called Roboute Guilliman, and is effectively in charge of the Imperium, the main faction of humanity. His soldiers are Space Marines, specifically the Ultramarines faction. They're trying to push back against the staggering losses mankind has been suffering - we've been slowly losing ground and occasionally retaking it for centuries, but this time period, "The Indomitus Crusade" is the most up to date part of Warhammer 40,000 - the year 999 of the 41st Millennia, and things have been going from bad to worse just lately. The Crusade was meant to be pushing back and improving things, though from the tone of this, it may have bogged down, somewhat. The red lightning-y smear on the starmap is a huge warp storm, basically a huge patch of Cthulu/Event Horizon style hell that's spilling into real space, brought about by the Chaos (demon worshippers, rebels and anarchists) faction of humanity. The enemy they're fighting are the Tyranids, a vaguely insectoid style swarm of hive-mind monsters that uniquely for WH40k, come from outside the galaxy. They descend on a planet, they kill, they eat everything, they leave empty rocks behind. The biomass they've consumed is turned into more Tyranids, and they use the biological information they find to improve their soldiers. WH40k is a race between all the bad guys to snuff out humanity, whilst humanity holds on, and hopes our many powerful enemies get stuck in the door, three stooges style. The theme is that we've made our big play to conquor the galaxy and we fluffed it, and we've been collapsing ever since. Phyrric victories and heroic defeats all around. Try the Wahammer 40k Lore in A Minute video to remind yourself!

a little info about, what you are looking at: This trrailer is for the upcoming Edition of the tabletop game. The lore behind this goes on and on. It is set in the 41 Millenium (40.000). So in terms of Lore-timeframe it is happening right now. The "Spiders" are Tyranids, a Species of advanced Bioweapons. They consume biomass to generate more Monsters and get more and more terrifing. You kill them with x, they mutate and become imune. They are flying through the Galaxy to eat whole Planets and solar systems. The "Julius Cesar" is Roubote Gulliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines. Ultramarines are a special faction of modified humans in Powerarmor, called Space Marines. Now Guilliman started a Crusade, to destroy the biggest Fleet of Tyranides in the Milky Way (Hive Fleet Leviathan). How that plays out will be told over the next years in books and uptades in the rulebooks of said tabletop.
@requiemlul3140 Жыл бұрын
So the Cesar guy is Primarch(Son of the Emperor, leader of a Space Marine legion)/Lord Commander(currently, basically temporary leader of the Imperium) Roboute Guilliman. He’s kneeling infront of the Eternity Gate(the gate to the Emperors throne room). In the timeline this is most recent around M41.999. This isn’t actually a game trailer, it’s for the tabletop warfare, but the new Space Marine 2 is about one of Guillimans Ultramrines fighting Tyranids so it’s likely a part of this campaign. The irony of this trailer is that as Guilliman says the imperial propaganda makes it seem as though they are winning, but the red skull balls on the map at the end each represent an imperial world that just got completely destroyed, either by the Tyranids eating everything they could or the Imperium themselves blowing it up to stop the Tyranids from doing that. There are actually MANY animations on KZbin of Warhammer, the most requested you could possibly get would be the Helsreach series, but there are also those from SODAZ and other short ones like that or the Death of Hope videos. The Last Church is also a definite recommend (it’s an animated adaption of a book) it gives good insight into the Emperors character. GW DOES have official series…but both because I had a shirt subscription and watched a few of them and they are mediocre and because I find the company itself reprehensible I wouldn’t recommend it.

This is the trailer for the new edition of the Warhammer 40k tabletop game. There are video games though. Roboute Guilliman is the current leader of the Imperium of Man and he's super depressed. He's trying to defend the Galaxy from several alien invasions, as well from Demons and people who betray the Imperium, better known as Heretics. What you see fighting are super-human soldiers in power armor called "Space Marines" or "Adeptus Astartes" (in theis universe, they speak High Gothic). There's everything you could imagine in Warhammer 40k, including magic/psychic powers, but it's all horrifying and super evil.

This is for the 10th edition of the board game, but there is a pc game they are making called Space Marine 2. It will follow the same events being told here. A short explanation on what is going on: The roman looking guy is one of the "sons" of the Emperor, basically a genetically designed being which is superior to almost every human in existence, including space marines. He is the primarch guilliman, a genius on strategy and logistics plus practically being a demigod. Dont tell this to him though, he would hate it since he is an atheist like his father. And he detest the imperium for what it becomes, desperately trying to fix it. People (hopefully) jokingly say there are no good guys in 40k, but he is one of the good guys. The aliens they fight are the tyranids, a bug like alien race directed by a super hive mind, with only one goal. To consume. Their hunger is what drives them, and they store a specialist creature for every occasion. If that doesn't work, they also evolve and adapt terrifyingly fast to any situation. There are untold numbers of them, and they are slowly entering our galaxy. From all sides. Even if imperium wins this one, this unlikely be the end of them.

Trailer is for a new edition of the tabletop miniatures game. Lore background very very basics: Big dude called Emperor. Mucho psychic god-like powers. Year 30k-ish. Makes super soldiers, conquers earth, eliminates religion. Loves science. Wipes out super soldiers and makes 20 Sons and new Super Soldiers based on their genetics. Sons stolen and scattered across the galaxy. Emperor starts crusade to conquer galaxy. Super Soldiers do the heavy lifting. General success ensues. Starts finding Sons eventually recovering all 20, but not always under good circumstances. 2 are wiped from history books completely. Reasons unknown. Each Son allocated a legion of the Super Soldiers based on their own genetics. Crusade going well, Imperium of Man growing. Emperor makes favourite Son, Horus, Warmaster and tasks him with completing the crusade while he goes off to make something secret. Powers that stole the Sons originally, have corrupted some of the Super Soldiers. Those soldiers work to corrupt Horus and succeed. Horus decides Emperors a douche and must be killed. Convinces others and Leads half of his brothers in a crusade back to Terra (earth) to do this called this becomes The Horus Heresy. Fails and dies fighting Emperor but Emperor fatally wounded. Efforts to save him result in him plugged into a thing called the Golden Throne, unable to move or speak or do much of anything. He is left there kinda dead but kinda not, perpetually. Gets fed the souls of 1000 other Psykers (kinda wizards) every day to stay alive. Many Sons dead, some evil and scattered and off to join with the power that corrupted them called Chaos. Super soldier legions split up into smaller groups called Chapters. Other Sons get killed off or disappear over time. 1 called Guilliamen put into stasis to prevent death by super-poison. 10,000ish years pass. During this time Imperium of Man becomes a faction of xenophobic, religious zealots worshipping Emperor as a God. Kill anyone with different ideas about Emperor. Imperium constantly at war gaining and losing worlds. Chaos powers manage to rip galaxy in half. So now 2 Imperiums, one called Nihilus. Guilliaman woken up and cured of super-poison by alien tech. Very unhappy as Imperium is not what Emperor wanted. Guilliaman was the speaker in the video talking about Tyranids. Tyranids are aliens that came from outside the galaxy to consume all life and turn the “meat etc” into more Tyranids. Very adaptive. Bomb thing was a marker for the overpowered dudes to teleport to. Psyker overpowered dude joins as well. Psyker Tyranid sent to deal with psyker overpowered dude. Everyone dies. Caeser laments that their preachers cry victory when the truth is far more dire. Timeline is for the video is “current” but year 40k-ish now. The Horus Heresy has a book series which has a crazy number of books at this point, like 50+ books just for the Horus Heresy. Then theres hundreds of other books and book series based more closely to the “present” time and others based in between. Its a very good universe (in terms of lore and stories.)

The best suggestions (WarriorTier & Bricky on KZbin, Ciaphas Cain - For The Emperor the book) have been made. To clear up some of what's happening in the trailer: - The guy speaking is a sort of demi-god. The warriors in the trailer are genetically modified super-soldiers and they were based on him. He's sort of a master general/warrior who was recently brought back from 10,000 years in stasis after another of his kind (called Primarchs) hit him with an incurable poison. - Primarchs are genetic sons of a sort of godlike person called the Emperor, which all of humanity now worships, but he's on life support acting as a sort of galactic lighthouse for all human star-ships. It's weird, but makes sense as you learn more. - The crazy purple stuff in the galaxy is spillover from an alternate dimension called The Warp. It's basically a psychic hell where time and physics are meaningless and a ton of evil stuff lives. A planet (Cadia, f's in the chat) blew up recently and it sort of tore a hole in the galaxy and has caused a lot of problems for everyone (except the forces of Chaos that live in the Warp, basically demons). - The bugs are called Tyranids, they're invading from outside the galaxy. They consume all organic life and leave behind barren empty planets. They're constantly evolving and finding new ways into the universe. They are an all devouring interstellar swarm and have apparently launched another massive invasion (re: bigger than all other invasions) into the galaxy from a completely new direction. - The Imperium are the humans of the galaxy, and they're all stuck in a sort of totalitarian-religious government and rights kind of don't exist. 40k sucks for everyone in the universe (except orks), which is what makes it so interesting. Also there are no good guys, which is great. Just interesting characters, motivations, and terrible, terrible destinies.

The Julius Caesar guy is named Roboute Guilliman, a Primarch (son of the Emperor of Mankind) he currently rules in place of the Emperor in the year 40,000 AD (38,000) years in the future. The Imperium is basically in its worst state in history.

@KitsyX Yes, current lore takes place in the 42nd millennium. Guilliman awoke in 995 M41. The trailer shows the 4th Tyrannic war. It is a brand new conflict on the western side of the Galaxy where there is a lighter commitment to security. The Hive Fleet of Tyranids that is showing up is well experienced in several other conflicts on the east side of the galaxy. This is said to be the biggest invasion in the 5,000 years we have been aware of them.

Awesome reaction video! To answer some questions: 1️⃣ The Julius Caesar guy is Roboute Guilliman. He is a legendary hero and son of the Emperor (also known as a primarch). Widely believed to be lost/dead for 10,000 years, he has recently returned to take charge of his father's empire. To make an (admittedly not great) comparison, he's basically Hercules suddenly showing up to lead the Imperium, in his Father's name. 2️⃣ When/Where is this happening. The Warhammer 40k timeline can very broadly be divided into 3 main sections: [Very Old], [Old] and [Modern] [Very Old] The Horus Heresy. During the Emperor's crusade to unite the galaxy, the primarch Horus betrays his father, and convinces 7 other primarchs and their space marine legions to join him. After a galaxy-wide civil war, Horus is killed and a mortally wounded Emperor is barely kept alive in an arcane machine known as the Golden Throne. [Old] After the devastation of the Horus Heresy the space marine legions are divided into smaller chapters so no one general can command as large or destructive a force as a whole Space Marine legion. Robute Gulliman codifies how space marines should be organized and fight in his 'Codex Astartes' which is adopted by the other 7 loyal Primarchs - albeit some reluctantly or begrudgingly. The loyal primarchs then scatter to chase the traitor primarchs/legions, or otherwise reclaim what's left of the tattered Imperium. Several primarchs are lost or killed in this time. The Imperium regresses into a military dystopia, and zealous fanatics begin worshipping the Emperor like a God, and his primarchs like demigods. Other aliens (like the spidery Tyranids shown in this trailer) appear in the galaxy and start attacking humanity. [Modern] Robute Gulliman has returned and see's in his absence the Empire of Humanity has only fallen even further. He does not know how many, or if any of his brothers are alive, but he is determined to re-build his father's Imperium. 3️⃣ The thing-that-looks-like a bomb is a Teleport Homer. Teleportation technology is barely understood by mankind, and it can go very wrong very fast. Only the genetically-engineered space marines can survive teleportation, and even then they'll often use Teleport Homers to anchor them to the position they want to teleport to, making it a little safer. 4️⃣ Darktide takes place in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, but instead of playing Space Marines, you play as regular humans trying to scratch out an existence in the shattered and often cruel remains of the Emperor's Imperium. "I've never been so entertained by something I don't understand" . . . ha ha, well said! I think that's how everyone starts with 40k.

Funny how you left out how Guilliman hide on the other side of the galaxy on his own planet becuase he deemed Terra lost along with Emperor. Meanwhile the Emperor held out with Rogal of the Imperial Fist white scars blood angels imperial guard. Horus killed Sanguinius and inflected and mortal wound on the Emperor, where then the Emperor literally atomized him from existence. When the traitor decided to flee Rogal took his marine and those who defended Terra on the Scourging to purge the traitors from exitance. Only then did Guilliman show up. Did he even go with Rogal, nope stayed on Terra. Rogal chased and killed the traitors across the galaxy to the eye of terror. When he return a few years later Guilliman had made himself defacto Emperor and forced Rogal to follows his rules and split his forces into chapters. Rogal said no and Guilliman said he be a traitor, even thought he held back Hourus and the traitors for years while Guilliman hide on his own planet. Rogal then decided that his marines his sons will not be parted from him and sent them to die in the trap world the Iron Warriors made for them. Guilliman was then forced to save them because if the Imperial Fist all died, Terra, the Gurdsmans and tech priest knew Rogals plans held back the traitors would cast dout and kick Guilliman from his defacto Emperor position. Guilliman is no hero. If you had a ranking of who the Emperor liked best Horus was his favorite gave him chances to come back even after all that traitor acts, Sanguinius, Russ, Rogal. Guilliman wasn't even top ten.

Where is very hard to say as it could be anywhere in the milky way galaxy. When is, now, this is the latest and the current timeline of Warhammer 40k universe. Primarch Gulliman is the first of non-corrupted sons of the Emperor, who returned after all these years since the Horus Heresy (The big civil war of human Imperium). Those are Tyranids, they are evolving a lot over the time, they also seems to be able to counter Psyker Librarian (Space Marine with high psychic power), brain blast him and destroy his mind. These Ultramaine were trying to reclaim a lost planet, so that's why they don't destroy it. This is a trailer for the tabletop figurine, Darktide timeline could be set right after the Horus Heresy, which is current 40k timeline as there's a lot of dialogue that mention the existence of Necron. There's no good guy, none of these factions are good people, there's only bad to worse. Speaking of Warhammer, do you know about Warhammer Fantasy? It's a different universe, it's a Warhammer but with Orc, Elf, Dwarf, Vampire, Ogre, Dragon, Treemen, and so on. I think you would love it, if you into that kind of Fantasy, it's already ended though, unlike 40k and AoS. Which these two universes are still continuing their stories until these days.

Hello! To add a bit of information about the trailer, it takes place in the two first centuries of the 42nd millenium. Until that point, the Imperium of Man ruled over a sizeable chuck of the galaxy for more or less 10 000 years. But in the end of the 41st millenium, several events made things worse. While the past 10 000 years were more or less manageable for the Imperium, the transition from the 41st millenium to the 42nd was very rough. On the bad news, all major ennemies of the Imperium (Chaos, Orks, Necrons, Tyranides) gained enough strength to make the overpower of the Imperium schackle. Without mentioning local powers like the Taus, or the overwatching Aeldaris who struugle a lot too. Now the whole galaxy is a gigantic battlefield, in which all worlds are at best in danger of corruption, at worst dived into black pits filled with hellish nightmares. Also, in front of such foes, the Imperium became more extremist/zealot/violent, if it was still possible, and the religion of the God-Emperor get more and more desperate human souls to use in its eternal war. On the good news, the loyalist sons of the Emperor are slowly but surely coming back, with the extinguished hope and memories of better times for humankind. Also, new armies have been unleashed in order to fight back. The Indomitus Crusade was the first phase of the stabilisation of the Imperium, as all its million worlds were under attack by all sides. However, the sorrowed state of the galaxy make the Primarchs wondering what is their purpose in such hellish place. The Emperor looks like he's calling them back as mere tools for his plans, to rage war against the foe no matter the cost. And for now, a hope for a better future would be a fallacy. As in the grimdarkness of the far future, there is only war.

Warhammer 40k is set in the 41st millennium in the future. The Imperium of man is main empire of humanity who are constantly at war with Aliens, Demons and Gods The big armored guys in the video are the Ultramarines, Adeptus Astartes/Space Marines. Genetically enhanced super soldiers in power armor they were created by the Emperor of mankind to be the defenders of humanity. The one who's talking is Roboute Guilliman Primarch of the Ultramarines and one of the Emperors 18 Primarch sons The Aliens in the video are Tyrannids an intergalactic race of aliens that go around the galaxy massive Hive Fleets of countless numbers to eat planets and evolve, Tyrannids are one of the major threats to the Imperium of man.

But he knows he can't be everywhere at once, especially since a the great rift a massive Warp storm split the galaxy in two and the northern part of the galaxy and the Blood Angels space marine chapter and all there fellow successor chapters are currently the enemies of man in the Northern part of the galaxy. All the Ultramarines are Guilliman Sons and he is their Gene-father and any space marine successor chapters made from his gene-line. The spiders are called Tyranids and yeah spiders are quite an accurate basis for them. They are essentially a hivemind race based off of spiders/insects and the xenomorph from the Alien films. The blonde Julius Caesar person is Roboute Guilliman he is leader of the Ultramarine space marines (Adeptus Astartes) - the power armoured guys that are die through the trailer. He is the current main leader of humanity though we suspect that is about to change as his older brother has just been pulled out of a stasis/sleep. His power armoured forces are the elite military of humanity. Darktide the game is based in the same universe. The main characters in that are a part of the Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum) and they are the lesser warriors of humanity, the normal soldiers. In Darktide the main enemy is enemy humans that have been corrupted by demons. Yes, demons exist as does a hell dimension known as the warp. Many other alien species also exist in the Warhammer 40K universe but the biggest current alien threat is probably the Tyranids that you see in this trailer. This trailer is probably set at the latest point in time in the universe. Darktide could be set at almost any point in the last 10k years within the universe. There are many audiobooks worth listening to about the universe. For the Emperor - Ciaphas Cain: Warhammer 40,000, Book 1 is probably one of the best places to start. Otherwise as others have said Lutin09 is the most accurate loremaster on KZbin but his stuff is long and can be quite dry for newcomers. Warrior Tier is a loremaster that bases all his videos from an in universe perspective which is fantastic to listen to. For him the "A history of the universe according to Trazyn" video is probably a good place to start. Rewatching Bricky isn't a bad way to go but the insider jokes he uses can just add to the confusion. That or reach out to one of us (I certainly don't mind) or any friends that know are into it and ask some questions.

Simple guideline to 40k.. It's the year 40,000. Mankind has spread throughout the galaxy and encountered many "alien" / xenos. They also encountered the "warp" or the realm of Chaos where the 4 Chaos Gods reside. The chaos Gods are not necessarily "evil" but represent all aspects of existence. Khorne (the god of War, Battle and Fury. But also represent Strength, determination and Honor), Tzeentch (the god of Change, Evolution, Mutation. But also represents ambition, sorcery and knowledge), Nurgle (the god of Disease, Decay, Despair. But also represents Life and Rebirth), and my favorite Slaanesh (the god of Pain, Hedonism, and Excess. But also represents pleasure, perfection, art / creativity, and lust). There are no "good guys" in the year 40,000. Just factions / races of existences doing whatever they need to do in order to survive and unending galactic war. Everyone is "bad", everyone hates each other, and individual lives are completely meaningless. The only "lucky" people, are those who die a quick death. A "Grim Dark" future, as the lore says. It's why the lore is so interesting. It's horrible (in a good way)...

Hey. Sorry I'm late. You have questions, I have answers. The big guy with the sword, blonde hair, is Roboute Guilliman, the leader of the Ultramarines, the army guys in blue. He is also a primarch, basically bigger, stronger, better in every way. He is one of three people currently in charge of all of the human forces in the Milky Way galaxy. It isn't mentioned here, but the other two are his brother Lion El Johnson, and Dante. They are all fighting on behalf of the Emperor, the guy with the spikes coming out of his head on the giant door. They are supposed to be rays of light, oh well. The blue guys are Ultramarines. They get complained about, because they are typically the 'face' of Warhammer. They are generally good at everything, and there's a lot of them, so it seems appropriate. The 'spider things' are called Tyranids, named after Tyran 4, the planet they were first found on. They come from outside of the Milky Way galaxy, and intend to eat everyone. The reason that twi of them stopped everything was because the guy with the axe? He's a Librarian. Psychic powers. Basically a Jedi, if you're familiar. If the Tyranids are hungry, the Librarian here is like a triple chocolate fudge cake. Given that the Librarian lost his psychic fight, he's probably dead. The thing that looks like a bomb is a Teleport Homing device, teleporting is dangerous so it helps make it a little safer. The big guys that teleport in are Terminators. In most of the videogames, the Terminators are used to explore space ships, where Tyranids like to hide and infect people. The giant robot that gets knocked down is a Dreadnought, normally it would be the most effective thing there, but they needed to take it out to show how boned they are. Warhammer IQ is totally a thing. If there was a PHD, I'd have it. If there are any other questions, I can probably answer them all :)

lmty i did NOT pick up on that the first couple times i watched i lacked critical information
Most battles in Warhammer are pyrrhic victories honestly. Before I go into the 40K timeline I need to say, it's best to find something that looks cool and jump in. Trying to go from beginning to end with 40K is going to put you through a lot of lore your probably not going to care about and most of this you don't really need to get beyond "those things are dangerous". Like Darktide, do you really need to know about Nurgle and pox walkers to know zombies are bad? It adds flavor and if you care enough you might look into it but you don't need to know that stuff to hit them with a shovel. To answer your question, the Warhammer 40K timeline, well it expands from 6 million BC to past M.42 (40k's calendar for millennium 42 0r 41,000 AD). But the main stuff book wise, happened in the Horus Heresy which tells how the Emperor came about. How the primarchs came about (including the Ceasar guy). And the betray that started the slow decline of humanity over the next 10,000 years. In the year of 999M.41 the galaxy was spilt in 2 and Robute Guilliman, at that time the last loyal primarch of the Emerpor returns from stasis after 10,000 years which are covered in Gathering Storm campaign books (Fall of Cadia, Fracture of Biel-Tan, and Return of the Primarch) the book The Emperor's Legion: Watchers of the Throne, that you can get on audio, can give you more of a pov from the seat of government on how all those books happened. Kind of more shows how bad the government is but you can sus out a bit of what happened. After that, it lead into the Indomidus Crusade and then into Plague War which the Dark Imperium trilogy covers that, also on audio, but the cursade is one of those things you can make stories on forever.

Basically: the Julius Ceasar guy is Robute Guilliman the current leader of mankind, he is tired and hes disenchanted, at first hes echoing the propaganda spread by the preachers, trying to make the small victorys seem bigger, spreading lies to keep up hope, but how can you be hopefull when youre trapped in between an advancing force of demons and traitors and a swarm of alien horrors of unrivaled scale. Leviathan the Tyranid Hivefleet that the monsters seen in the trailer belong to, has become an unimaginable threat by now, due to an experimental plan that went horribly horribly wrong... They lured them into a fight with orcs hoping both would destroy each other, instead Leviathan grew stronger and ate the orcs... now theyre back and even more powerfull than before.
@TheColosiss Жыл бұрын
This is one of the reasons why I would argue the Guilliman is one of the most human of the primarchs. I personally play Ultramarines because of the fixation on logistics in the lore. When other chapters are fixated on endless war, the Ultramarines are just trying to keep a sinking ship afloat. Guilliman literally weighed every single life across countless worlds, and this has been intensified since his awakening. Dante himself noted that Guilliman is constantly working. Dante also noted that there was a brief moment when the primarch humbled him with his shear humanity. A brief moment where the weight upon the primarch's shoulders was made evident. The decisions made to ensure the survival of the human race are not taken lightly. I like that this episode reinforces that. The way Guillimam prays and reflects the propaganda of the Emperium while mourning his losses truly shows that Guilliman *FEELS* every loss. He has carefully weighed them and the final scene shows that Guilliman is not only saddened by the losses, but angered. That final moment depicts his disappointment in the Empire, in his decisions, and man as a whole. The way he says "victory" implies everything but...

5:50 there are some tv shows planned. Mybe a movie. It has 40 years of lore so for sure lore heavy it an accurate description. 6:25 Julius Ceasar is an apt description. He is Roboute Guilliman the primarch if the Ultramarines. Pretty important in the current lore as the first of yhe primarchs to return to the Imperium. He is now expected to solve all the problems plagujng the empire, like a dad us expected to do so by his kids. 7:21 even when you win, you lose in 40k. 7:50 not spiders. They are called bugs though, so understandable. In lore name is Tyranids. Think locus swarm but the ecosystem scale. So an entire ecosystem that goes around eating planets. 9:08 it is a franchise. It has games, videos, figurines. 10:20 that is a beacon. So people know where to teleport. 11:16 In the grin darkness of the future... Anyway. The Angels of Death are no nonsense kind of people. No talking in the middle of combat. Also, this trailer is about how propaganda lies about "winning" a war while taking horrible losses. No jokes. XD

I'd also recommend astartes (for some space marine action) and If the Emperor had a Text to Speech Device (for lore and some great laughs). If you feel like it listen to the audio books, I recommend 'the first heretic' as that gives a good introduction into the 30k side of the lore which is the best place to start imo. It may seem daunting but once you get into it warhammer will become so much easier to understand. Whatever you decide to do I hope you'll have a great time learning about this rich universe and lore. :)

We'll have to wait and see where it actually goes, but Amazon is currently working to develop the IP. I doubt they'll get to big scale conflicts with Space Marines like this trailer shows anytime soon, but who knows. The IP is very vast and there are a lot of stories they can tell without the need for extensive CGI budgets. Henry Cavill being a producer on that gives me hope, as he's a huge fan and he's walked away from IP he's personally invested in before, when he found the source material wasn't treated properly. Apart from that GW has their own streaming service, though the selection of available shows is rather small, the quality improvable and I'd argue that what's available doesn't really lend itself to someone without prior knowledge of the IPs. This trailer if for the new edition of the tabletop game, which is where the whole thing started. Darktide plays in the same universe, but on a very different scale and with different factions.

This is Warhammer 40k. In the Grim Darkness of the Far Future, Everyone Is British. Not even joking... It's because the company that created it is British.

TV shows and audiobooks a plenty I assure you. The TV shows are on their own service and some aren't very good though. LOTS AND LOTS of audiobooks though!

What service for the tv show ? I just got a couple audiobooks today ☺️☺️

@@thegeekentry it's called Warhammer +. It's not just shows, either, it also comes with a free model if you subscribe for a year, (right now an imperial guardsman model or a vampire from their fantasy game) and also gives access to all the rules for the tabletop game(s, I think it comes with age of sigmar rules too) via an app. And some cool painting tutorials and battle reports of matches of the tabletop games between GW employees. I'd give it like a 7/10 for "is it worth the price," as a Warhammer fan with like 3 unpainted armies.

Go watch bricky's every warhammer explained vid. Gives a brief rundown while being relatively light on the lore dump

Leutin09, Bricky and Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer, all incredible content creators. Leutin09 is very lore accurate, and a bit more direct, Bauldermort is like pouring warm honey that manifests in vivid images directly into your ear, and Bricky makes some very humorous and digestible vids for entry point lore(like all factions explained) they would be my suggestions of where to start if you'd like to dive deeper.

any video in particular you recommend ? We have videos from Leutin09 and Bricky in the playlist but non from Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer

@@thegeekentry I look forward to seeing it!

@@ic3man10 My real recommendation would be to watch Brickys faction guide and then pick the Bauldermort video of the faction that interests you most. As a pure suggestion either The Warp and Daemons Explained, or Emperor of Mankind Lore Origin, both are key concepts to the universe.

If your looking to get into the lore you should check out Luetin09, he’s probably got the most in depth/accurate content for 40k
