KZbin Pack! What did you notice about the difference between Calvin and Andre's approach? What else did you learn from the video? Thank you for watching. I'll be reading your comments!
@topaz74885 жыл бұрын
Andre did a good job he seemed physically come in kind of a slower pace and the dog was already in his little cubbyhole and Andre clapped her out with your guidance and after that it seemed to go pretty smoothly. And with Calvin he moves at a bit of a faster pace he just needs to tweak slowing down just a little bit. And the dog was already out of his cubby hole which I thought might have made it harder for Calvin because the dog was excited. I don't know how much rest a dog had between Andre and Calvin but I'm thinking if the dog had been in that cubby hole or Calvin could have started off just like Andre I can't help but Wonder would that have made a difference. The other thing I noticed the dog was panting like you was overworked and it needed water so instead of me really paying attention to the boys I was mentally worrying about the dog needing water and it was either meeting water or was overheated I don't know what it was so that kind of bothered me. I hope you really do read everything Caesar because you are really absolutely a dog whisperer your logic of how they think what to do I watched you over the years even when you first started and I think only once or twice with one of the dogs through you both out of whack you know what I'm saying. I do hope Andre and Calvin we'll both learn from you and some learn faster than others and then one day they're going to be doing what they're supposed to be doing and everything is just going to click and come together they're going to get it. there's also that old saying practice makes perfect and that really is true. but if both of those boys are serious and can work hard with your packs and the ones that are new coming in and they practice and like you said the number one thing is and like you said the number one thing is them not just understanding an dog but having compassion and love for an animal. I don't think they really realize maybe I'm Wrong but you would be leaving them a great legacy and if they could take over in years to come and maybe one day they can teach their children male or female to be the Dog Whisperer wouldn't that be wonderful. I wish all of you luck and I hope they understand you are not ridiculing them for them not to take anything personal when it comes to you trying to tell them what to do with the training you're only trying to help them be better and to understand the dog in the mind and maybe both of them will become a dog whisperer did it takes time you cannot rush it. I always loved watching you Caesar and I really enjoyed this video of you teaching your sons and as long as they want to learn and be good at it that's wonderful. I wish you all the best and I will keep watching.
@prmomof45 жыл бұрын
Andre said he had already spent some time with that dog, so they knew each other already. I'm not sure Calvin had that advantage. I ADMIRE your sons and the relationship you have with them. He understands dogs sense your energy and when you establish an energetic connection with a dog (which is how dogs should be trained) they’ll listen that much better. That much faster. And I can speak from experience with my 13 week old puppy. Energy is the answer. Not language. You can teach a dog that up means sit. And walk means stay. They have no prefrontal cortex for reasoning like humans. But they have the same limbic system as humans (one of the only animals that you don’t need a license for with the same limbic system)which is how we process emotions. Patience is the key.. The first thing you must do is make sure your pup is connecting with you. For example, I kept 2 pups from a litter who influence each other and are much harder to train than one pup. They would get excited if I had a treat and having 2, they get competitive.. they would stare at the treat but I wanted them to connect with me, not the treat so it took a while, standing in silence waiting for them to look me in the eyes.. and acknowledge me.. not the treat. It takes time and patience but picture what you want and reward good behaviour... I don’t use treats as a reward by the way.. I just used this as an example when they were obsessed with something..

Nopal. Evidence #1. He says you have to be the pack leader. You have to assert your dominance. How does he do that? He stares them in the eye with intimidation, forces them to do things they are already scared to do, but scares them even more with his body language. Evidence #2. He kicks the dogs and picks them up by the scruff which he doesn't even know how to properly pick up a dog let alone train one. He knows nothing about reading a dogs body language hence he keeps getting bit. He gets bit by a dog in one of his own videos and says "I didn't see that coming." When the dog warned him multiple times. Look up how many people sued him for making their dogs worse with more issues after coming home from the facility he "trains" people's dogs at. And yes I have trained dogs. I volunteered to train the dogs at my local animal shelter. Is that enough evidence, dumbass?

This video makes me think of the way my dog reacts differently from My husbands presence V.S My presence. My husband definitely holds leadership with the dog, While I have more of a playful relationship with him. (which causes issues for me when my husbands not around and the dog goes from well behaved to mischievous.) Thanks for the video :)

This morning I was out for a walk by myself. As I was heading down the street two Australian Shepherds who recently moved in to our neighborhood came charging at me. I thought of your lessons immediately. I remembered Calm, confident. I stood still and smiled and relaxed my body. They came close, Sniffed me and the tails were wagging. I’m so happy to know this. If I had stressed I don’t know what could’ve happened. I trusted myself first and since “dog is love”....all is well. ❤️

Watching his videos and tv shows compared to other peoples videos and tv shows you gives you a real grasp and understanding of how he's still leaps and bounds ahead of any other dog trainer. His understanding of dogs is nuts. And not only that but he's one of a few people who willingly shows you his methods. He doesn't just show you a dog before and after. He shows so much of the in between.

I used to have a female doggy that I’ve rescued from a bus station near a forest , we had a very nice friendship and a bond, she died with 15 years in 2016, now I have 2 cats rescued too! I’ve love your dog wisdom and school of behaviour, it’s quite addictive and very knowledgable ! THANK YOU to you and your wise tribe, Cesar!

"Empathy and compassion+assessment and evaluation." I love this quote and will begin EVERYTHING I do with this mentality. It's too easy to stray from an open mind with everyday stresses and can only stifle a companion. I'm glad to know I can be in whatever postion in the pack and still have an affect on state of mind! Im super excited to see more of these introductions! They're so refreshing! The pack is growing more beautiful every day Cesar! Thank y'all so much for putting yourselves out there and enlightening!

Cesar, my son and I used to watch you on TV when he was 9 yrs old. We eventually felt it was the right time to rescue a dog. We ended up with a pit mix, female. We named her Asia. She was a great dog. We had to put her to sleep, a few yrs ago due to cancer. Thank you for all that you do and continue to do. Love you with your sons. xoxoxo

Thank God for Ceasar and these videos! They help me realise all the current mistakes I'm making, and unfortunately My pack does not have a very balanced, experienced, or well trained pack leader to follow at present! I need lessons like this to be better for my pack. I have a pack of 5 all very powerful breeds and all rescues that are currently taking full advantage of my shortcomings 😅 the rascals! Ireland is so ready for a visit!! Loving all the basic lessons these videos are providing. Well done to Andre and Calvin, really fantastic stuff. I learned a lot from Calvin in this video, I'm making the very same mistakes.

I would suggest a real professional. Cesar does not know what he is doing. He just pretends he does. Look it up. As someone who knows dogs enough to know his mistakes, and understands dogs more than people, I do not agree with him at all. He does not understand the subtle nor the obvious behaviors dogs use to express themselves. He just makes up nonsense .

@@jessicac1863 when I apply some of his techniques to my pack they help me make a massive difference. His success rate would also say different. But we can agree to disagree on this occasion 😄.

Favorite KZbin channel!! I have two American Akita’s and I’m only 4’11 and 110 lbs. Cesar’s books, his 911 show on Netflix and the dog whisperer videos I was able to find on KZbin really helped me. I’m still learning how to walk them confidently and calmly lol but I trust I will get there someday. Thank you Cesar.

Crazy respect if this man was my father. Cesar millan is from my city and state. Culiacan, Sinaloa. The man left here with nothing but what little his parents could give him, so he could cross the border and follow his dream. He truely went for that american dream. Amazing person, strong and kind.

I literally watch these videos over and over to trying to help our new rescue dog. Clearly, I'll never be near as good as Cesar (or his kids!) but I keep at it because I know this girl has huge potential . I especially appreciate how detailed you were in this vid (ie. Be more Tai chi-Calling her that way was "loud" for her so she came to you less calmly, remind her what you want, break it down like layers in a cake).

Why everyone is tripping at the way Cesar is teaching his kids is beyond me. That is how a parent is supposed to act. To correct mistakes as they happen and teach their kids. All these other new age mumbo jumbo in raising kids these days is what's wrong with this world. That's why many people here do not recognise good parenting even when it's staring them in the face... Also, I noticed that his interruptions are not directed against his sons, but towards the rehabilitation of the dog. He reads the dog's behaviour before his sons and had to interrupt them to guide the dog's emotions , i.e.,"to make them aware"... I applaud you, Cesar, for displaying good parenting. And thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. I grew up with your show "The Dog Whisperer" on NatGeo and I am a big fan of your work. Keep up the great work...

I have a 12 week bully he is the best dog I've ever had because I train him the way I want him to behave all day everyday. I correct any undesirable behaviour calmly and confidentley, reward good behavior with good body language, touch, vocal and treat. I'm certainly the leader of the pack and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Thanks for your work cesar, I'm a natural but ive learned so much from you and have an amazing dog because of that knowledge.
