It's funny you say that every one of them could sing the chorus, because from what JiU has said, that is how they distribute lines, they get each member to sing the whole song through, and give them their parts based on who sings them the 'best'. In that regard, in preparation for ever comeback they get to sing a lot and see what their voices can do, even if it doesn't make it into the final song. :)

I really love SuA's voice too, she tends to be one of the most stable one when it comes to singing live while dancing and the way she can adapt her voice so well to every songs is amazing. My bias from DC is Yooyheon, I enter in this group for her. She called my attention in a You and I performance with those vocals and her hair. The song is perfect for her and was her era. Anyway suA is my bias wrecked bc she is a dance machine and also can sing well and rap. But her voice, idk why sounds really good to me. gahyeon mentioned that siyeon's been teaching her how to sing better, could it be possible that her and dongie didn't get a vocal trainer/vocal coach as trainees? because i know some groups that have that dynamic where when sometimes only the main and lead vocals get proper vocal training while the rest are only trained to dance and sing while dancing... that's quite literally the company doing their trainees dirty and actively hampering their careers i^i

I think that with Handong it's more of a Language "problem" (for lack of better word) and with Gahyeon it's confidence/anxiety (as Sir Austin said). Recently she has gained a lot more confidence, you can tell just by looking at her. She feels more comfortable now I think aswell, as she herself has adressed that she has lost a lot of weight and feels better already, that all helps I guess... She never needed it IMO, but as long as she's healthy and happy it's all good. She's been my bias from the very first time I got into DC (around scream comeback). And I don't think Happyface (or now Dreamcatcher Company) is like most companies. Dreamcatcher is their main (or only) source of income, they shouldn't neglect them or hamper their careers in any way. And I don't think they do.

Very often in their videos you can see how close they are with their company people, and unlike some other companies (even ones thought to be "good") that made a trainee not eat anything but one ice cube a day for a week under threat they would not be allowed to debut, Gahyeon lost weight gradually in a safe and healthy way. Also, Gahyeon and Handong were with the group for the shortest time; I don't know how long they trained before they debuted, but all the other members already had stage experience with Minx; I would be extremely surprised if it turned out to be "company doing their trainees dirty".

I believe Handong was even a trainee for only a few months or so, so that could be possible that she didn't get as much coaching as others. But at the same time Happyface/DCC treat their members great, so it's not like they'd purposefully neglect a member.

@@AmadanMath I remember one of the members (can't recall who) saying that they have meals during practices and shows and all that, and that most groups/companies don't do that or even allow that. But it's not a DC-everything without food/snacks. And like you said Gahyeon lost weight in a safe and healthy way, not just with dieting ('cause have you seen them eat) but also with exercises, which she also vlogs about. Gahyeon has had the least amount of training I think. Handong had her training and experience with training for musicals, before her teacher said she'd do really good in Korea and should try-out for a K-pop group.

Gahyeonnie improved a lot from my POV nowadays but back then she was around the weakest member in general in both dancing and singing, I can't rank her rap around their debut time. Before joining Happyface, she was FNC trainee and also auditioned for YG (and passed) but I guess she wasn't fully in training, maybe, bcuz she was an honor student for 3 years of her school and that's took a lot of time plus plus she debuted around the time of her puberty, give or take, so it affected her too. She improved a lot during these years.

If you want to see SuA singing, literally just look up Idol Radio performances, they're usually full blast energy, and surprisingly good vocals despite her clearly messing around. Amor Fati is one of my favorite songs she sings from there.

Yeah, when my band was recording in the studio, I always used to put zero reverb on my voice so it was really dry, so it floated above the instruments. Reverb tends to push it back into the mix further. Maybe some people don’t like the dry sound, but for me, it made my voice more present - Also with no reverb, there was no place to hide

Handong is my bias and yes she needs more lines unfortunately i guess??.. We can't really do anything about it (neither hf/dcc) since it's all up to the producers/composers decision on who they think fits better each parts of the songs. She has a beautiful voice and i love it. Idk if you have already heard July 7th but is one of my top 5 b sides because of how much Handong sang in it. Also if you want to check some fancams of Handong birthday fanmeet (of 2 years ago if i remember well) she sang some songs there and of course in those we can appreciate more of her vocals. Hopefully once she comes back she can get more lines on future albums, as someone already mentioned before she seems more confident in herself and her skills after participating in the show in china. .. well, thanks for your reactions 😊

I don't know if someone already commented about this but there are also some nice solo live performances by JiU, SuA and Siyeon and a duet by Yoohyeon+Dami in an old Heyo TV episode. Only Handong and Gahyeon didn't participate as they were probably still unsure with their vocals at the time. 😥 I'm not sure about copyright thing but you should check these videos as well and potentially add the SuA one for when you are reacting to her live vocals. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 As usual, thanks for the really interesting comments. 🙏 It would be great if some day, the girls (especially Yoohyeon and Dami) come accross your channel! 😎

Yes Dongie needs more lines. Yes some of the girls need more confidence. In fact the Reason Why Handong went to the Idol Survival Show Youth With You in China to build her Confidence. Gahyeon has gotten a whole world better with this current Comeback in Both Rapping and Singing (she has been getting way more lines recently and sounding fantastic). Gahyeon and SuA Totally Owned The 3rd and Final Chorus of 'Break The Wall' like True Lead and Main Vocalist Rock Goddesses! During Yoo and I, I mean You and I era Handong and Gahyeon are still kind of new and still on their early developmental stage not that I'am looking down on them but all other members already had experience and earlier training from Minx so Gahyeon and Handong wasn't used too much during this era. Handong is Chinese as we all know and although she already has a great voice and some training back in China her Korean isn't that good yet so i think that's the reason why they didn't use her on their main tracks but on the B-sides she sounds great and as for Gahyeon, she's young and still developing. This day if Handong is there she'll get more lines I'm sure, her korean improved a lot and many people were impressed during Deja Vu era at her and I think she is one of the members who stands out the most during that era, her "so now holding this pain" got really famous and I think if she's present during Scream era she'll get more lines just like how Gahyeon's rap stands out in Scream she did get more line and rap lines in Boca. I'm pretty sure Handong will get more lines in the next album she's present 😁 and although I'm a Yoohyeon bias I look forward hearing others sing especially Handong because her vocals are just so freakin smooth. Let us hope that Handong will be joining them soon as I've read on some Dreamcatcher news that she'll be returning soon. A very nice reaction and analysis sir that you're being truly honest and noting that they're only humans just like us although they are Goddesses in my eyes 😂 but yeah, humans aren't capable of being perfect but it is as you say Yoohyeon just laugh it off and did it professionaly. I think you may be right on both Gahyeon having been the weakest vocal but also on it being a confidence thing. So with new and improved Boca Gahyeon, I feel she has improved lots! It it possible to analyse Gahyeons voice like per year? It's hard to find good live audio though for Dreamcatcher (mostly phone recorded) or you don't know if they sing live fully and unprocessed. They should make a professional dvd recording for a live show, but I guess that's expensive. Like Mamamoo 4 season concerts (s/s and f/w, I watched all 3 hours of one and bits of the other). Highly recommend those!

Gahyeon has improved a lot since You and I and she's very confident now. I think Handong is the weak link and it's why she doesn't get more lines. Her voice is beautiful, soft and sweet, but she has no power and really relies on the microphone to amplify her voice. Soft ballads are her strength, rock not so much. I love Dongie and can't wait for her to return. She belongs in the group, but she will never be able to do power vocals or badass rap. But if a song has some heartbreak lines, she's your girl.
